as an artist on BC, Bandcamp needs to get serious with their marketing and go after iTunes...market themselves as the better more artist-first version of iTunes, THAT would bring alot of incentive to casual consumers who support DIY/indie artists to switch over. People react to a "us-vs-them" mentality...take down iTunes! Apple is focused on streaming anyway they dont care about losing the download market...
Bandcamp needs to get serious at marketing, period ;) Don't get me wrong. I love BC. I started as a fan and then published my things as an artist too but besides artists themselves, esp. small artists, the average Joe has no idea it exists. Sometimes, even people in the music industry hardly know about it. This ends up in artists supporting other artists, which is good but limited. We need 'ordinary people', or at least that very small portion who's looking to alternatives to the streaming giants.
you prolly dont care but does any of you know a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost my password. I would love any help you can offer me
Love Bandcamp, been with it from the near enough the start. Great to see it grow over the years. They started off with the goal of not being social and just about the music but I think there's no avoiding the need for social interaction these days. Glad they're improving all the time.
This is a lot of great information. Thank you for the video. In the future, please hold the mic just a bit further away from your face. All the best.
