Both of my parents did this to my sister and I during and after their divorce, put us in the middle all the time, my older sister especially got to be their messenger and have to hear all the shi they wanted to say to one another but didn't have the guts so they had to say it to their teenage daughter to relay. Makes me sick to think about how immature and selfish some parents really are, shouldn't be having kids.
This is very typical behavior of narcissists. All they care about is themselves. It's me, me, me!!! Their kids and anybody else are manipulated and just tools to help get the job done.
Shoot... parents need to respect their children BEFORE they have them.

I'm so proud of her for overcoming what was certainly a pit in her stomach. I hope this doesn't ruin the rest of her life. I hope her demon father can't infiltrate her life from prison.

My dad has an adoring look to me as long as I can remember. Thank God. And I am 34. Praise your fathers if he never laid a hand on you, as in sexually. I trust him more than anything, and he discipled me appropriately. God bless all children that go through these things...
She'll never be afraid of anyone in her whole life, I can promise you that. I grew up with men just like him and you can play any mf after that, the craziest imaginable.

At 19:44 she gets asked a question and refers to him as "the defendant" and not dad for the first time. The look on his face, and the way he reacts says it all. What a p.o.s!

The daughter's testimony just sealed his fate. Imagine how twisted you have to be to use your own innocent child as a pawn in a scheme to spy on her mother.
There are several cases on UA-cam where ex husbands have done this with their children. The infamous Michael McDonald of Las Vegas. You'll be able to find many of his ridiculous and abusive court actions against his long suffering ex wife on UA-cam.
The other is Trevor Summers, whose trial you can find on UA-cam.
Both these delightful men are in prison. Summers for life - he didn't quite manage to murder his ex wife, but he did totally turn their children against her and make use of them in his plot to kill her. They were so screwed up by the things he told them were right and wrong that they had difficulty even being allowed in schools, because they were violent and bullied other students. Really awful stories.
Some people, not very smart people, claim it is only women who alienate children from the other parent. I'm sure they do. But it is so ridiculous to say that men don't have all the same capacities to be horrible. Indeed men kill their female ex partners are such a rate, that in the US, on average, three women are murdered every single day by their male ex partner. Guess what, the figure is NOT the same the only way around.
Men have a huge lead in the murder stakes. Which will mean there is a greater risk for the children to be co-opted into murdering their mother.
He's innocent until proven guilty...everyone so quick to accuse....just saying

This girl seems very tuned in. The fact that she didn't want to use the names her dad used to describe Leo because she didn't want to disrespect his mother is remarkable for such a young person. Also, she sounds very confident in her testimony.
Leaves his 2, 4 year old sons home alone at night and takes his 12 year old daughter to her mother's house to spy on her. Disgusting! Why take her at all?
As a father who has been thru a divorce it's because kids are easily manipulated. He clearly had intentions to have her be "daddy's little spy" . It so gross that some ppl use kids as weapons.

In the UK they put a screen between the accused and the witness to protect the witness from this intimidation.
Direct laws here that defendants face accusers. Think it would be helpful for this reason. Falsely accused though.

Anyone else notice how after his initial "surprised look" when she referred to him as "the defendant" that he appeared VERY angry? He's groomed this child her intire life and he is realizing now that he has lost his grip on her. It's very disturbing.
Or he realized on her own she would only call him Dad, but once the DA said "I'm gonna refer to him as the defendant" and then she followed suit hes catching on that they have turned his daughter against him.
The daughters testimony was ALL over the place, she was clearly coached, she knew every in and out of the grow operation but couldn't identify a picture of a bag of weed?
Go back and listen to that Lego falling through the floor boards to reveal a chair with duct tape and rope testimony. She was SOOO CLEARLY being lead through that testimony and it isn't her own.

Was just thinking the same. He has a partial smile at times, which is almost creepy, but he definitely trying to intimidate her and make her feel guilty with that partial smile all at the same time.

Watching him watch her testify is so bizarre! There are times where the defendant seems as if he is desperately trying to send the witness information telepathically. He is a strange character, indeed.
He did send her a msg by put his finger on his lips to tell her to close hers and not speak. Thanks to court tv it was seen and now the judge knows. Both sides are trying to tell her what to say or not say

This poor girl. Her testimony is excruciating. Hearing her cry was difficult. This must have been so painful for her. I give her a lot of credit for having the courage to face her father in court and doing the right thing by testifying.
What a brave and respectful young lady to not want to use the language her father would call him because of his parents in the court room.
I’m 58 now but when my sister and I were kids my mother and father were divorced and my sister and I would be drilled for information when returning from our Dad’s house and vice versa. Really did a number on my sister and I. As adults we separate ourselves from both of them. Our father past away about 5 years ago. They both used their kids terribly. Lot more to the story, but not getting into that. Just saying some parents can truly be horrible people. My sister and I are very close and I’m so happy she is my sister ❤

I pray this young woman can recover from the trauma she’s been through. She’s sounds exceptionally mature
She is exceptionally mature on a certain level, but she is paying a tremendous price for that maturity. She has been robbed of her childhood, so there are other areas where she is exceptionally underdeveloped and/or frozen. In short, her maturation process is extremely lopsided. What often happens in this type of situation is the adults are oblivious to this dynamic and continue to rely on the "adult part" of the child which prevents the underdeveloped and frozen parts from maturing. I pray the adults in her life recognize she is a child and let her be a child . . . and find other ways to work through their own issues regarding this situation instead of further robbing her.

This young girl is very brave, and clearly articulate, intelligent and very sure and detailed in her memory of the events. Her father is alternating between coldly staring at her, looking confused and at times stunned into disbelief. Bet he didn't bet on his own daughter nailing the lid on his coffin as it were!

There have been over 375 murder exonerations in American with 197 being with death row inmates. The reasons for the exonerations are many. Those convictions came from a DA's or US Atty office, who cared only about a Conviction and their Scorecard. "With Liberty and Justice for all", was never considered.
The trial of Zach will be taught in law school for years to come, as the classic example of an over zealous DA's office concerned with " winning a conviction despite the absence of any evidence".

The prosecution is trying to ask his daughter if she gave/sent the recordings of her mother, to her father, but I don't think she's following what he's asking. Lol.
She's only 14. She shouldn't have to be in this position to have to testify against her own father. I don't think she fully understands the complexity of this entire situation.
