If Vlad Impaler ( Dracul) does not exist or Stephen the Great, maybe the whole of Europe is praying on his knees and reading from the Qur'an today. I am Romanian and I am very proud of the history of this country.

Glad you guys finally went to My favorite place in Romania! Visited Sighișoara Citadel 13 times so far, but only during the Medieval Festival (always last weekend in July), but even without it, in a day you can see: The Clock Tower (it has museums on every floor, worth checking the sculpted model of the city too), The Leper Church (I think it's the highest building in the Citadel), Weapons Museum (amazing), Torture Chamber, House on The Rock, The Guild Towers (Turnul Frânghierilor = Rope Makers'), Turnul Măcelarilor = Butchers', Turnul Croitorilor = Tailors', Turnul Cositorarilor = Tin Crafters', Turnul Tăbăcarilor = Tanners', Turnul Fierarilor = Blacksmiths', Turnul Cizmarilor = Shoemakers', Turnul Cojocarilor = Furriers'. There were 5 more craftsmen towers in the past, now only the above still stand and can be visited), Casa cu Cerb, Casa Rosenthal, Casa Venețiană, The Medieval Cemetery, Casa Breslelor = House of The Guild (private museum) there is also a Roman archeological site and many, many other places to visit.

So glad you enjoyed Sighisoara! It's one of my favorite places in Romania, even as a Romanian. It would've been great if you went during the Medieval Festival, because it's hoenstly like you've traveled in time during that time. I went for the first time in 2019 and sadly in 2020 it was cancelled because of Corona, but if you have the opportunity to go in the future, I'd definitely recommend it.

to be honest, the "Dacia" key chain would be pretty representative. It was THE car everyone used to drive during the communist era and it's popularity didn't drop after the Revolution. Everyone in Romania has a memory of driving to the seaside with their parents in one of those cars and probably identify with it more than any other symbol. And the fact that it also signifies the ancient country name is a plus as well.

Beautiful city part of Transilvania which is a latin name meaning the land over the forests. Transilvania was occupied by the austro-hungarian empire in the 18 th century...when both otomans and austrians tried to extend their empires. Vlad the Impaler aka Dracula is one of the most respected Romanian ruler because he was smart enough to win battles against the huge and powerful otoman empire and because he was a strong and fearless ruler and, during his years no one would dare commit theft...or stuff that was not meant to be done. He was named Vlad Dracul...meaning Vlad son of the devil because he would impale enemies like the otomans...he managed to scare the otoman soldiers or cut the arm of the one who would steal or commit adultery etc.
He also lived in Curtea Veche which is a place in Old Town Bucharest..but I think it is currently closed to public due to renovations.

The city was built by saxon german immigrants colonized by the medieval kingdom of Hungary at the time. Until 30-40 years ago german language was spoken on the streets of the city. The name of the city comes from Schassburg. In the 80 s the communist leader Ceausescu allowed the germans from Transylvania to emigrate to West Germany .Today there are almost no ethnic germans in Romania except for the well-known president Klaus Johannis who is not very popular in these days. You also will hear and hungarian language on the streets of Sighisoara-Segesvar,there are many hungarians in the area. Do not forget the Szekely Land populated mostly by hungarians, it is close. And Sinaia with Peles Castle and your romanian tour will be complete. After all of this you can say that you have seen all Romania.

What about Caras-Severin or Mehedinti counties? Or Jiu, Valcea, etc? You can't say you visited all Romania without those, as there are many touristic places there as well.

Yeah, on second thought it would be sort of perfect, because if we had it on our wall, most of the people who come visit would not be able to guess what country it is from. Which would create a perfect moment for us to share some Romanian stories. Maybe we will try and find one again before we go.

Hey guys! I've sent you an e-mail at the address you gave on your channel (the gmail address). I've actually sent it some time ago, I think you just started visiting Romania. Gave you there lots of tips and stuff about Romania. Maybe they'll be helpful, although you already discovered a lot about our country. :)

Transylvania was not part of Hungary. It was an autonomous principality vassal of the Hungarian king. The Saxon colonists were called because the royalty did not trust the Romanians who were revolting and had connections with the Romanians from the other two principalities.

      History of Transylvania
      From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The history of Transylvania has been intertwined with the history of the Hungarian people throughout Hungary for many centuries. From the conquest , Transylvania became part of the Hungarian state . In the 16th century, after the division of the country into three parts, the Transylvanian Principality with limited statehood was established under Turkish dependence , but this did not mean the severance of relations with Hungary, nor later the Habsburg rule. The economic and cultural threads connected the territories of royal Hungaryand the efforts to reunite the Principality of Transylvania continued. In 1848, the Transylvanian parliament declared union with Hungary, albeit in opposition to a significant number of non-Hungarian nationalities, but in the name of the historical consciousness of the political unity of the two countries and social progress . After the compromise , Transylvania belonged to Hungary within the framework of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy , then Trianon separated the country and from 1918 it moved to Romania . In 1940, Hungary received Northern Transylvania in the second Vienna decision , and after the Second World War this part was returned to Romania. [1]In the 21st century, Transylvania and Hungary became much closer than before as part of the European Union , and their relations could be revived.

We dont even know for sure if Vlad III Basarab, aka Vlad the Impaler aka Dracula, was born in Sighișoara in this house. All we know it that this house belonged to the father of Dracula, Vlad II Dracul, and that he lived in these house around the time Dracula (Vlad the Impaler) was born.

If you are talking about "this dark character", it means you don't know anything about history. Esslecially the true history. The picture of Vlad Tepes you keep seeing allover, is not even his picture/painting. He was dark blond with clear sky blue eyes. And the history & facts, is much complexer than you think. You got a very important info (the serie of the real world history) in another comments elsewhere, from me and others (which you obviously didn't check) where you also find the real picture of Vlad if the order of The Dragon (Dracul), aka "Vlad Dracula". And about that Dragon, check "The Dacian Draco" on wikipedia.
