Peles Castle is actually a palace - designed for elegance, while Bran and Corvin are castles or fortified residences.
You missed something, in the same town as Pelesh Castle is another famous castle from the same era, Cantacusino Castle.
So, you need to return to Romania to finish your castle trip!
Gosh! There’s so much to learn about Romania. So much history! You must be in your elements, Steve!
👍❤️😂😂 Definitely!!
As a Romanian, I would like to thank you guys, for all your videos about Romania and its places. You did a far way better job than our own government promoting Romania! Awesome!
Yes, a redemption video for Brașov. You must climb to the ”Brașov” letters or even to the top of the hill(by cablecar too) for great views and panoramas over the city. At least go up one of the 2-3 towers around for great views of the city centre too. From the top of the Tâmpa Hill, u can go down by foot, as most ppl do. Also, visit at least the Black Church while in the city :)
NOOooo please come again, what u have seen is only 30% of the real Romanian culture, We Love You!!
VENITI in Romania Inca O Data ! SUNTETI BINE VENITI !
This was and still is my favorite castle from Romania. I also love it's location.
But you also could have gone to visit the Cantacuzino castle that is in Bușteni (Bushteni). Bușteni is fairly close to Sinaia (from what I remember.. I took the train from Sinaia to Bușteni and in 5 or 7 minutes max I was in Bușteni. Maybe if you go with a car you arrive there even faster). Cantacuzino is also an interesting looking castle with a beautiful view (or views.. cuz you can see some mountains too when you are in the front (main entrance) of the castle).
Peles Castle , is included in the ranking of the most beautiful castles in the world! Next time we`are waiting for you again in Romania , because you still have a lot to visit!!.... respect for you!!... you presented many beautiful places in Romania !
1:11 can't believe you have visited Poenari Castle ruins, the real Vlad Drăculea's fortress of soul!
Not for the masses! Amazing guys, congrats!
The castle is beautiful, the place where it is located is wonderful ... a real corner of heaven! 💥💥💥💥💥👏👏👏👏👏👏
I must say this is more recent compared to other castles and therefore has many more modern luxuries!!! Really awesome and super grand!
Great videos! Really enjoy them. I used to live in Canada for about 3 years, came back to Romania in August this year, so I am sending your videos to my Canadian friends cause they kept asking me about Romania while I was there.
Keep the good job you’re doing!
Thanks ❤️!! Glad you enjoy our videos 👍
I wish all readers a very beautiful and Happy weekend. 💓💓
Emma from London
Woooooooow, such a super beautiful castle. Love to see the interior decoration/designs and those intricate wood carvings. Thanks for the explanation and tour, Steve lvana.... it's always fun to follow you guys around.
You guys deserve a prize for the best traveled youtubers visiting Romania. You've seen a lot of places , way above average of travel channels.
P.s. while Bran was a modified a bit with time, its definitely also a very medieval castle, and you are right .. has nothing to do with Vlad the Impaler, or perhaps he may have visited or be imprisoned there a while, mostly speculation. But still... Bran is actually linked to the Templar Knights, and there is also a tiny Templar Church in the castle's vicinity .
(I do agree however that Corvin castle is the prettiest medieval castle, while Peles is a more modern work of art castle, or rather... a palace).
pretty sure ur subs went up with this romanian series! we romanians loved it and i think everyone too. you represented the country very nice! much respect and thax to youu!!❤️
Wow, the Peles castle is mind-blowing. It is beautiful and I don't mind staying there. ❤️
A perfect ending to a mindbogglingly fantastic ( to use another one of Steveisms 😀 ) road trip.
Hope to have you guys back in Romania in winter 🎆🎇🔥⛄🛷❄️
I love you guys so much for doing this ♥️ wanting to know a bit better my country 🇷🇴 and promoting it sooo nicely 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Poiana Brasov in Brasov is another gem of Romania.
Alba Iulia guys is acctually one of the most important cities in Romania, with one of the biggest Vauban citadels in Europe, the oldest gothic Cathedrals of Europe where Ioan Huniade, the guy who owned and build parts of the Corvin castle is burried!..not to mention the roman ruins of The Aelia Capitolina...the roman name of the city!...it s kind of a hidden gem this city..! it is called The historic Capital of Romania!
Iașul e infinit mai important fara el o p.la exista România Cuza e de acolo
True, you can check on my channel for Alba Iulia citadel :)
Ahahaha 😅 the most important city?! You must be joking
ivana, the cashmere shawl from pakistan, i noticed it in several vlogs. 😄 it still looks very nice... love the colour..
the castle, really, no wall left blank. all are with designs, they reminded me those designs i saw in my housemate's textbook years and years and years ago...she took architectural course.
I am surprised you did not get to Oradea, when you get older and have rheumatism you should, so you could use the thermal waters at Felix & 1 May Spas!
The best you you guys, you were great enjoying these lovely lands of ours that for some reasons we're not visited as much as they should and deserved, but you did it! Safe and peaceful trips, in health for the future!
If you are in Sinaia, don t miss Cantacuzino castle. It's in Busteni. It's awsome.
Yep.. agree. But who knows when they fiImed this video. They are probably already in Brașov. (well.. maybe next time)
Have a Nice and Beautiful Weekend to All Readers of this 💗
Stephanie from London
Bonus Castle: Cantacuzino Castle in Busteni. It's literally 10 km or a 20 min drive from you, and it's on the way to Brasov. So... yeah, there you have it 👍
Near Peleș Castle, you will find another smaller Castle, called Pelișor.
Beautiful castle, thank you for the video !
I visited Peles threetimes when I was younger and living in Romania..... beautiful; the mountains are beautiful, Sinaia, Predeal, etc. I also visited Brasov and Brand several times. I spent a whole month at Bran summer camp when I was 9 or 10. Bran was not commercialized like now.... it was nice and peaceful there at the time.
Glad you enjoy guys thanks for visiting.
Beautiful. We're booked to visit Romania from the end of September through to the middle of October, and we wish we could stay longer. From watching your videos, the people seem to be so warm and welcoming, Romania looks stunningly beautiful and the food looks delicious. We really can't wait to be there.
Thank you for all the incredible videos.
Woo wow, the castle on the top of the hill is really amazing 😍💯
Thanks for this wonderful video n d live chat premieres. Beautiful castle.
Gorgeous! It's also my favorite castle!💜
i really love the fact that people are starting appreciating romania
Altho you finally visited Sinaia, you missed last night's snowfall! I think the visit would have been more exciting with a white background
Peles Castle and the entire area are my absolute favourites in this world :) Your footage is amazing, thank you for sharing it :)
Suerte y salud!😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
This video seems must sharper quality. Excellent!!! Keep safe, happy and healthy.
It's a bit disappointing that you didn't visit the ruins of Sarmizegetusa Regia, which was the capital of ancient Dacia, but maybe next time.
Darn! But, yes next time we will go there. We will be back 👍❤️
@@JetLagWarriors I am sorry there so many other countries you have to visit, because I wished you continue discovering Romania, you are presenting it with justice, and "yes" for the person writing you could be historian, you love history. Plus you, both, Steve and Ivana cared about the pronunciation of Romanian words (names, places, etc), and if you truly want to return to Romania, I shall get courage and make time and comment other videos, when you'll have time you'll read them, probably.
All the best for the future and thanks for your enthusiasm, do not let anyone change you guys!!! Rick Steve PBS, USA) should be envious of you!!! Oh, Ivana has a great intuition when comes to pronouncing Romanian whatever word. When in dought check ask Google, as you where very
funny trying to pronounce Vama Veche!
Well after this comment transformed in a little letter (not sorry for it, just that I jumped from one idea to another) I wish you again all the best in future traveling or/and other endeavors!!!
@@JetLagWarriors Sure, I forgot something, when I wrote about your enthusiasm, I meant genuine one, not fake, polite. Where are you guys taking me next, but probably I'll find out from the last live you had and need to see it, and thanks for the way you anounced the last two lives!!!!!
I should definitely share your experience in Romania and not only with Americans willing to learn about other cultures!!!
Great video. Excellent editing! Love them castles!!
for the record, Carol is just the romanian version of Karl/Carl. I've seen many english speakers snicker at the name, just wanted to clear it up a bit.
near Peles Castle is Pelisor. smaller but as beautiful, with a room covered in gold foil. and near Brasov there are many many things to see. so you have a quite big list of things to see. Sarmisegetuza ( capital of the region 1900 years ago), Deva, Alba Iulia, Cluj, caves, the delta and many more ! oh and ! Peles was the first building in Europe to have central heating
I've just been there like 2 weeks ago!
Great vlog, made me appreciate more my own country! Thanks guys!
Perfect 🤟waiting to see your reviews on it, it will be interesting!! Have fun guys!!
Don't leave yet. There are lots of places left to visit in romania. You should go to Transalpina, take a nice trip on that amazing road(Transfagarasan also but I don't know if it's open now). Parc Romanescu in Craiova(one of the biggest, if not the biggest natural parc in Europe) is also a nice one to view (the old city center is not that bad either). Moghioros parc in Bucharest is also nice. At the end of the trip, before you go to the airport, stop for a coffee or something to eat at Embassy 18 (Bucharest, the view is amazing).
The first electrified castle in the world
Netflix’s A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby was shot at Peleș Castle. Also the first 2 movies: A Christmas Prince (2017) , A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding (2018)
Woohoo..my favorites on youtube right now..🤗❤️🕊🥂 waiting to see 🙋🏽♀️
There is another very beautiful castle/fortress in Targu Neamt, similar to the Corvin castle, it was used by Stephen the Great. U should see that too.
Sometimes I like that more people goes to the so called ''Dracula's castle'' (Bran castle).. cuz (sometimes) it makes the Peleș Castle less crowded when I visit it.. haha (I like Iess crowded places and not just during this covid times). :)
Sad to see you guys go. This summer i couldn't take a holiday, like I usually do, because I had a lot of work and also got infected with the "pox". But i felt like a took a trip through the country with you and it really feels bad to see it end
We wait you to Sighișoara also! #Sighișoara 🌞🤸
we would love to go explore some day
they unified Romania so they(Royal Dinasti) deserve all of this, it was actually theirs and now they opened to tourism.
@@m.dewylde5287 thats cute hahahh, but yes it is theirs.
Charlottenburg (Timis county) is also a very cool place to visit. It's a wonderful small village that not only has a very Shire-esque (LOTR) feel to it, but is also the only round village in Romania! You should at least take a look at some online pics, it's pretty special! If you want to someday visit , I have a small holiday home there, me and my gf will be more then happy to accomodate and hang out with you guys, and show you the area (also drink and party if you're up to it!) . I'm 25 years old (but I look like 15) and she is 22. Also my name is Sebastian!
did you at least got to see the weapons room or the theater, arguably the most awesome parts of the castle's interior?
You must visit Cotroceni caste from Bucharest. I awsomme also
Tank you for visiting us... and pls... could you stay... forever? :D
Peles Castle is not a castle but a big house! No defences at all. Was a residence for the Royal family of Romania, who still ownes it. Full of history. In that beautiful complex the Pelisor (Small Peles) is the hidden gem!
Welcome my firend in the country of God
Hi guys. Did you visit Pelișor ? It’s next to Peleș. It’s beautiful. There is also Foișor close to Peleș, but as far as I know it’s not open for public. I am glad I saw through your eyes parts of Peleș not opene when I was there. Thank you.
6:56 actually no. Timisoara was the first electrified city in the entire europe. and This castle is the first electrified castle in europe.
@@m.dewylde5287 thats not the point, i will figure it out alone some day.
Fortress of Făgăraș and Deva!
Nice guys,i don't know if Pelisor Castle is also open for tourists. it's not far from Peles.
Bran in its current state is 100% linked to the Romanian royal family as well. It was the residence of King Ferdinand and Queen Mary.
You guys should try Romanian snacks
Danube Delta will beat any place in the world if will be visited during the summer! more special if you reach a place where black sea meats/swalow danube, "mouths gates"(local name: gura portitei) for a swimm, and if is near the autumm i am sure nothing will be more incredible than that experiance.
7:44 Wait in line, Ivana.. I wish(ed) that for more years than you do now 😂
lol!!
Where you go after Romania?
Don’t go home, stay with us in Romania, now you are almost Romanians,we love a lot your trips and want to see you in different places of our beautiful country
one more vote! :D
6:20 GOAT Castle, they knew it back then.
👍😘🇹🇩
Missed the Alba Iulia castle "Cetatea Alba"
Yeah...this evening walk downtown old Brasov !
Peles Castle has a special historical significance for the Romanians. Here, at the beginning of the century XX, the king and the government adopted important decisions for Romania, including joining the Entente Powers in the World War I.
eat mici in Dedulesti when you leave, you have to!
Plzzzzz come back Pakistan.. We are waiting 😍
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👋👋👋👌❤
don't forget. when they were dining in that big hall the people were starving to death outside. that's royalty for you. Not only here but everywhere.
half day in Brasov and half day in Sibiu and you re done. Sibiu is very close to Brasov.
You did not say anything about the table that took 3 generations and 100 years to carve ... You had it in shot. It was given to the king by the Maharaj of India if I am not mistaking ..
JetLag Warriors, I don't know who informed you with historical data but you should know that they are not correct. I know that you like history and that is why I am writing to you that the historical data say that Bran Castle once belonged to Prince Vlad the Impaler's grandfather, Prince Mircea the Old. Prince Vlad also lived in the castle whenever he waged military campaigns to punish the Saxons in southern Transylvania. Poienari Castle of Prince Vlad the Impaler was an inexpugnable fortification and strategic point of resistance. Peles Castle was the first castle in the world, electrified and equipped with an elevator. The electrical installation is the original installation from 1880.
You've missed Rasnov and Rupea castle
Corvin castle is very far the best castle .. when you said peles its over i saw how the men think in his mind 100% corvin castle its the best
Our last King-Michael I, who died in 2017, was born at Peles Castle in 1921. He was forced to abdicate in 1947, when Romania was occupied by the Red Army together with the rest of Eastern Europe. The Romanian communists then came to power for half. century, as in all countries after the Iron Curtain left in Europe after 1945. Peles Castle is one of the most representative symbols of Romanian history.ua-cam.com/video/oRfY8kmrjLk/v-deo.html
🇷🇴🇷🇴🇷🇴🇷🇴🇷🇴🇷🇴👍👍👍

DEAR STEVE AND IVANA, I AM A CANADIAN LIVING IN TORONTO, AND I FOLLOW YOUR VLOGS FOR A YEAR, CHARMED BY YOUR WIT AND ENTHUSIASM. FRANKLY, I HAVE NOT MET MANY TORONTONIANS LIKE YOU. CAN YOU GIVE US A HINT OF YOUR BACKGROUND BEFORE YOU LAUNCHED YOURSELVES IN YOUR TUMULTUOUS VLOGGING ALL OVER THE WORLD?
I was a construction worker, and Ivana was working in marketing for a yoga teacher training studio. We were living together in Bloor West Village, travelling every January and February because I wasn’t working much and Ivana’s boss was really nice. Eventually we decided to do a 1 year trip… selling everything and quitting our jobs. Well, that one year trip has now been 3 years 😁
There are vampires in Romania. My Romanian friend told me. It is true.
If u think how many family was starving on the time when that castle was built...not all was good with the construction of that castle's on 1873 people Romania was on starving

Nice, nice, but you've been in Romania for too long.
😾😿 So what? Let them enjoy.😝
Too long?! As far as I'm concerned I would extend their visa. They have a knack for finding interesting places and stories
