Bryce sure is has positive attitude and makes the people feel good about their tiny homes and he brings out all the fine details of their tiny home. I like watch his tour of tiny homes.
I love how much Pam honored her grandad’s memory by building this tiny caboose home! What a great way to show how much those car rides to count the cars and check for a caboose , meant to her.
What a brilliant idea to give people a taste of tiny house living, before they put the time/financial commitment! Thanks to the Tiny Digs team! This is going to be helpful to so many people. How I wish I had money. I would try this in a second!
Yesica1993 Me, too! I live in Portland and would love to stay in the Tiny Digs with the bed downstairs (I'm not able to climb). It looks like a fun place especially in the spring or early summer when people might be outside more.
Had to stop 1/3 in to say how much I LOVE your new production technique of playing the owner's answers, without airing the questions. So professional, and it lets me jump into the "story" as if I were there. Great job.
I thought it was a real train car until Bryce got into the tour. It is a tiny house built to look like a caboose and the railroad theme is wonderful. It is an awesome idea.
This story is so close to home. My father left when I was just 3 years old and looked to my big brother and grandfather to fill in the gaps of a then 70s childhood. Big brother loves trains and would sneekly play on his model train set.
Love her, her story & family...what an incredible place! The details and way each one must feel is a really different experience each time! Just love how they've created such a vibe!
My dad was employed by the Railways in 1900s and used to do a lot of work in the bush. We were little kids and as a family, the train would push our caboose into a siding where we would live for several weeks. This was in Southern Africa and my brother and I were little bush babies. When it was time to go home, a train would come and pick us up and take us back to the station. I have such fond memories of those days!
What a cute tiny. I was recently in Amsterdam and stayed at a converted train hotel one night. There's such a special feeling in unique places like this open to the public. I truly enjoy places like this.
Wonderful presenting as always for Bryce, and a wonderful business owner/manager and tiny community advocate. Tiny Digs is on my bucket list and this video moved it toward the top of my list.
I love the yellow house! (I'm a train fan as well.) The nails/spikes with the numbers are just charming. And the bathroom is to die for. The style of that sink! If I only had money I'd hire her to design a home for me!
Yesica1993 Yes, love them very much too, also much history that goes along, as have a house called Opals Ghost Train House..very good vibes..whole feel of it all!! Greetings from New Orleans Louisiana peace & Music ☆♡☆OpaL
Welcome Bryce to my home area ! I'm just across the river in Vancouver. This is amazing ! I didn't know Tiny Digs had built a new tiny house. I think this one has to be my favorite. Don't forget there is a tiny home community in Welches Oregon in Mt. Hood area. If you haven't been there I think you will love it ! That's where I use to live...lol Speaking of cabooses, there is a real old red one, on the road to my house, that is being made into a tiny house. It's going to be great I bet. I've always wanted to have a caboose as a guest house. Take care while you are here and enjoy yourself. My best to you and thank you for another wonderful episode of your program.....I love it !
One of the most appealing and intriguing Tiny House concepts. The Tiny Digs Hotel should be on everyone's itinerary! (PS The host of Living Big in a Tiny House is a terrific interviewer -- he doesn't intrude with lots of questions and he allows the interviewee to explain everything. (Her own warm personality also helped!)
Cute. I don’t personally like the couch right opposite the kitchen.. would rather put the door to the side and push the couch into the corner, but understand they wanted it to look like a train with the door in the middle onto the platform. Great work as always Bryce.
That's an interesting idea for a hotel. The caboose is so cute and, I love the yellow. That's one of my favorite colors and would like it in my house. I wish I could have seen the rest of the houses but, I guess I'll have to go there and, stay a night.
Absolutely wonderful! This lady has taken Tiny Homes to a new level! I loved seeing all the unique features in the caboose, the thoughts and ideas it took to create a space like this is truly marvelous. It will be so great when Govts around the world see the benefits in building smaller, economical and environment friendly homes for the people. Not everyone can afford a huge 3 bedroom house with all the extras, some people like myself would rather a small home, like a tiny house to feel comfortable and to allow the magic to flow.
If I did a tiny house, I'd do it like this... the lofts in the typical tiny houses are a bit too tiny for me, but everything else about the tiny house movement is so appealing.
What a Great way to honor not just ur Grandfather, but to honor so much in such tha Tiniest BIGGEST WAYS!!! Thank u......for being u. I’m researching places to staycation for Mother’s Day 2021 and appreciate the view inside this one. Tiny Digs has even more houses now, Bryce, so you should come back to Portland!
love love love it!! the colour isn't overwhelming at all, but warm and welcoming. Love all the little lamps and maps and hooks and what-not. Love that bathroom sink and the kitchen sink...it looks so comfy and inviting. Thank you for this great video!
Great, love it. I understand the cost is high due to labor and materials. Puts it into perspective. I remember about 15 years ago a friend of us bought a whole rail carriage in New Zealand and had it placed onto a 2 acre property near Orewa for under $6000 , I thought that was a lot at the time, ha,ha.. There is a great (original) train carriage motel in Ohakune NZ, stayed there, the kids loved it! Good luck to the Digs motel, wonderful idea!
I'm so glad you got to show off Tiny Digs, it's such a great concept and great place to stay! It's a real way for people to try out tiny house living, if you can afford to stay a couple days! 🤑 Much love to Portland and Tiny Digs! 🖤 I'm all about keeping things weird (so I'll be moving out of Salem sooner or later)! 🤣 Great story behind Arthur, a little light (yellow) for me, but it's still great! Miss you and Rasa, I hope we can catch up again soon! 🖤🦇

Isn’t it amazing what human imagination & ingenuity can create. Personally I’m bloody hopeless, my wife pays professional decorators, plumbers & carpenters etc. A great interview, really impressed by all of it.🇬🇧 hi from over here👍😎
She should invite members of her local city planning and zoning boards to spend a night or two there for free, maybe help them envision tiny house living and get that ball rolling!
What a cute tiny house! I love the concept of a community along with the hotel aspect. I hope more of these crop up throughout the U.S. so I can try one for myself. Thanks for the video Bryce! Got anything coming up in the Midwest? :-)
Your comment seriously CRACKED ME UP! I saw myself in asituation where I say something, it doesn't sound as smart aloud as it did in my head, the room goes quiet, everyone looks at me, my face grows hot, I turn and go.
Another great video. How do you find these treasures? I know some would be easy but others, not so. So thank you for taking us along on your journey, Bryce.
I just looked at all the Tiny’s on the hotel website! Awesome walk-thru feature! She has done an incredible job decorating!! Each one is so unique & authentic to its own name! Great job! Thanks!!
I love this channel. Compare to other channel with almost same content, this channel offers something distinguish. The host is very enthusiastic all the time.
Thank you Pam for the online address. Love your hotel of tiny houses would love to see inside the white/grey house with the front steps and what appears to be a “loft”. Also the barn house looks fantastic. I am slightly disabled and on a walking frame to get around, so I cannot handle ladders and steps without support railings. Next time I get to the U.S., I would love to stay a few days a try a few styles out. Cath
I think a tiny house neighborhood would be good for Detroit. Great for the low-income community, cheap to keep it up, and builds a better sense of community.
I've not seen anything like that. I live pretty close to Detroit. I imagine if that's the case that there are some huge property taxes that would need to be paid.
Nathan Hovey actually I think I've heard of the $1 buildings and I don't think it's so much property tax as these are abandoned in seriously run-down buildings that would need serious TLC but don't quote me on that I could be wrong
Some 30 years ago, US railroads began phasing out cabooses in favor of "EOT" (End Of Train) electronic monitoring devices. The railroads wanted to get rid of them and you could buy a real caboose for just a few thousand dollars. Many people did, and converted them into cabins, cottages, motels, and "Tiny Houses" (long before the term was invented). Unfortunately, moving a large, 30 ton rail vehicle like a caboose requires the use of a huge crane and low-boy semi trailer. So relocating a caboose can cost several times more than what you paid to buy it. Surviving cabooses have since become rare, as reflected in their much higher current asking prices. If you want one, a reproduction caboose is the way to go!
The lady's such a sweet girl when she talks of her grandfather. Just love it. And boy, loved the yellow instantly although I am on the sober side. Portland looks magnificent :-)
Early commenter squad woohoo!! I love the caboose, it's so cute, and I've always loved trains since I was little and the caboose was my favorite so this is very nostalgic for me. Very nice hotel.
Loved the theme. If u ask me u can never go wrong with a big DECK, and this one is lacking. Still love the little spot they placed it next to those vines(?)! Great vid!
Tiffany Lyn ,Yes, way too much for me. But I'd love to have the experience as I would LOVE to build my own tiny home. My fiance is a general contractor and certified in plumbing and electric, and my dad taught me all kinds of building when I was growing up, so I'd love to build it ourselves! I have the house and layout all picked out! The only thing holding me back is money! As always!
Tiffany Lyn way too expensive. She should charge 59 a night or something. Then it would be full all the time. During the summer make it 89 or something and during the lomg weekends. 169 is just greedy.
Tiffany Lyn when you can rent a regular 40 foot park model at a park that has all sorts of things to do i know this o e it has golf, swimming, water park, ect. For 600 a whole week and you get a golf cart included to travel around in. Now thats decent! 840 a week is crazy for this.....maybe because its a special raeroad design :)
I absolutely adore this tiny caboose ♥ My main change would be a raspberry red instead of the black simply because I love that combination of striking yellow and subtle cheery red. I think it would feel more intimate/homey and less industrial with that colour scheme. I do get why they chose black and it looks great. This would just be my own personal change ^_-
Scott Fossil the reason they are often built in trailers is to get around the laws, is tiny house hotel probably is 'legally' a trailer park, but the idea is one day they can legally be built on the ground with no trailer chassis underneath
My father has always loved trains, and instilled a love of them in me as well - the caboose was always my favourite part. Definitely an incentive to cross a border and a continent to spend a night or a few in that cozy house... although Dad might find it a bit too bright to sleep in ;)
I believe it was a city requirement. For whatever reason they had to keep it all black top. It was a parking lot and they had to keep it zoned as such. Something like that.
Yes, I agree. There's no privacy at all either. Even if they have to have the hard standing, some careful planting in containers could provide a little privacy. I love the idea of trying out different styles or being able to view them. At the moment, TBH it looks a bit like a nicely done sales forecourt. The tiny houses are beautifully done and the basic idea is fantastic.
You're such a positive person Bryce, thank you for showing us the Tiny Houses around the globe for the rest of us.
Bryce sure is has positive attitude and makes the people feel good about their tiny homes and he brings out all the fine details of their tiny home.

He's from New Zealand! :-) :-)
Yes, we can feel his enthusiasm, it's contagious!
Yes, he is charming.
UncleMack211 he likes going to the raeroad
@@Vbluevital Indeed, very charming. 😊 And enthusiastic.
Now I know where I’m going to stay if I’m ever visiting Portland.
Krista Parker there's also the Tiny House Hotel, both are great places! 👍
ImDBatty1 thanks for the recommendation!
Krista Parker I could name a few more, really depends on if you want to be in the City or not... 🤔
There's also Mount Hood Tiny House Village, which is more set in nature, it's where Jenna from Tiny House Giant Journey (another UA-camr) lives...
Would love to have you come stay with us!!
7:56 I LOVE that white bathroom sink. It looks so NICE.
Tiny Houses always teach us to live and appreciate the little we have,
Infact it reduces greed and encourages living.
, I love the house 🏠.
My 6 year old daughter, Rucha wrote these comments. She love to watch your channel and want us to move to a tinyhouse

Thank you! It was a fun one to design and build.
It is a real caboose
My Father and Uncle were really big into model railroads . This definitely brings back found memories of when I was kid and they loved the trains .

I was thinking the same thing. I want a sink just like it! My great-grandfather was a big brass with the railroad.
Once we have all our houses built we plan on selling plans. Watch for them in about a year from now. : )
What a great caboose, and a little touch of what is getting to be really old history now. For anyone to remember they need only go visit.

WOW Bryce,,,
This tiny home is completely - Off The Rails ,
Id have to say it was very well engineered ! ! !
Only thing missing is the little pot-bellied wood stove. Otherwise so much rail road related detail ! You can't help but love it.

If I did a tiny house, I'd do it like this... the lofts in the typical tiny houses are a bit too tiny for me, but everything else about the tiny house movement is so appealing.
I hope these are still standing with all the trouble in portland. Or rolled out to safer places! My prayers are with you!
Tiny Digs! I'll be visiting soon! What a great opportunity to experiment with tiny living and experiencing multiple building space styles. Thank you!
Except... $175 for each night in each of several tiny homes makes for an expensive experiment.
My hubby and I would love to stay in the caboose. We remember them on trains. You did an amazing build
Hello Dawn how are you doing!!
I would love this house for myself,

One my favorite mystery stories is
Murder On The Oriental Express by Agatha Christie !😁

Dr. Sir Francis R I do have the mesh, but I'm not sure if I can afford to have it removed, here in the States, it's not just a "I hurt, fix me", it's a fill out a ton of paperwork and pay out the equivalency of a decent used car... LOVE THIS!! I actually want something like this!
Such a cool concept. Would be great to experience.
This is incredible, i cannot believe that you can fit a house in a cabouse, you have inspired me!
Love how she says "Ray Road." My dad always dropped his Ls too. haha.
I am so claustrophobic! The loft bedroom would send me over the edge!
Not much of a train enthusiast but always had a fondness for the caboose

Good idea!!!
That might be seen as possibly trying to bribe a city official
Good thought

very nice! nevertheless too expensive for me as I would have to book a flight from germany first.....
Loved the theme. If u ask me u can never go wrong with a big DECK, and this one is lacking. Still love the little spot they placed it next to those vines(?)! Great vid!
Cabooses? Surely cabeese, if gooses are geese. Also if mouses are mice, aren't houses hice?
Alec Denholm
Ha! Makes logical sense to me!
Actually, the plural for caboose is cabooses. Look it up. Nobody ever said the English language is logical!
I'm sure they were just joking.
_Cabooses?_
No, Cabooxen!
You could write Dr. Seuss books :)
This is my favorite. Love the caboose!!!❤️❤️
Awesome idea and a great tour but anybody else feel like $165 a night is a pretty hefty price?
Tiffany Lyn it's pretty ridiculous, not to mention the cost to buy one from them? $65000 is insane
As always!
Kim Bradford well if your both working get a mortgage?
This would just be my own personal change ^_-
I like tiny houses, but I feel this is like a trailer park with a fancy name.
Scott Fossil the reason they are often built in trailers is to get around the laws, is tiny house hotel probably is 'legally' a trailer park, but the idea is one day they can legally be built on the ground with no trailer chassis underneath
Scott Fossil it could be
My father has always loved trains, and instilled a love of them in me as well - the caboose was always my favourite part. Definitely an incentive to cross a border and a continent to spend a night or a few in that cozy house... although Dad might find it a bit too bright to sleep in ;)
Hello Anne how are you doing!!
on blacktop with no grass/landscaping. ugh.
sophie morrison yes I think I’d at least put a little garden in the centre with chairs around it. That would make all the difference.
did they run out of funds for the added touches? i would drive right past it.
I believe it was a city requirement. For whatever reason they had to keep it all black top. It was a parking lot and they had to keep it zoned as such. Something like that.
that's unfortunate. the model was fairly decent.
I live in Portland Oregon! I’ve never heard of tiny digs?! Wow! I wanna come visit them
