Dude your a legend me and my friend were really worried about this game feeling like babys first nioh, but you really dove deep and showed there is a lot more nitty gritty minimax goodness then what it seemed.
Noticed a couple things while playing today, embed stats are slightly higher depending on the weight class of your armor(heavy gets the highest), not super impactful now, but may be more substantial with dlc. Also set bonuses get stronger depending on armor level. Lastly, just saw a japanese player post a bow with -1 set bonus requirements on twitter, so thats good to know. Great vid btw, looking forward to seeing what builds you come up with.
Very useful - btw. you can get divine accessories from the "teddy bears" even in normal difficulty missions. I was completing sub-missions and in "Fate of the Entertainer" normal difficulty I dropped him 9 Jewel Fragments. Lo and behold, I got a Divine 5 star accessory. Perhaps unlocked NG+ is a requirement though. I had NG+ unlocked.
This only seems to work after beating the game, the pandas never drop 5* for me but I heard someone say it starts after beating the game whether you go to ng+ or not
Wo Long is a breath of fresh air gameplay-wise. but I can’t help but note that as far as quality of life goes, somehow nioh 2 runs laps around this game.
Can also lock items so you don't salvage them by accident. Storage is nice too, but if you have the space and want to change weapons from time to time you can also lock them and have them with you.
This game is missing a lot of quality of life things nioh 2 had. Never thought i’d say i’d miss nioh 2’s mission select screen, as well as its ability to pick what mission and difficulty to help someone out in. Now i keep getting summoned to fight lu bu by hundreds of people that haven’t gotten a grasp of the morale system.
I still don’t have the best understanding of the morale system but I’m a huge collectathon nut so I try to find all the flags not that I succeed all the time but going through the level two or three times before hitting the boss and I’m at 25 so it’s some what moot.
There is, its in the settings menu for online if im correct...if not..its 100% in the settings menu. (Edit: Its the "Show co-op search results, show recruitment and invasion search results") You can change the setting from poofing you into narnia, to selecting the mission you would like to help out on...or invade. My first time discovering it was when i needed help with lu bu, no one would join my co op, so i decided to join someone else's...to my surprise it poofed me all the way into the beginning of the game with 2 other players So i immediately checked settings afterwards, that was absurd. It should be default but it isnt sadly.
I would like to add that just because you have fire virtue leveled, doesn’t mean you have to do fire damage, you can be a martial arts ice build using a fire virtue weapon.

You can drop 10 fragments to the pandas to get a guaranteed 5 star in ng+. Also if you are in ng+, but you join a friend that isn't then you can still get 5 stars from pandas
This is excellent. Great work. :) I wish they'd just copied the crafting system from Strangers of Paradise. It's so good now after all the updates. They always fix this system with a franchise (Nioh into Strangers into Wo Long into whatever comes next) then they break it again in the next game. XD Like dudes, just copy what you already did. Stop creating the problem so you can fix it later down the line. I guess it does make the updates and DLC have extra value. Looking forward to seeing how this develops once we have all 3 DLCs and tons of changes and tweaks this time next year. Until then, the grind is on, baby. :D

Well make all the armor slots go away and find out. And when I remove them where do they go? I'd love to see what I have. Game is really irratating
I thought arrows didn't replenish at an already hit battle flag???... I made that dragon flee barely after buying hundreds of arrows, but couldn't figure out how to replenish in game. I'm guessing they want us to quit out and go to village, since it saves your progress at that flag??
@Rottenif Zombie right but why would it make sense to have to go back to the village to access your storage. Also, the amount of trash loot is insane. I'm managing it, but I spend 15 minutes organizing the storage.. they should color code the item drops.
@S3D I only ever saved 4 star items, mainly 4 star set pieces; 3 star if I didn't get lucky for that set, and save it. Makes life easier. Because as far as I can tell a random sword isn't as good as one that belongs to a set build.
Best bet is salvage anything under 4 star do not sell gear. You can sell jewels for more copper then the gear sells for. Ntm you will get the mods from gear and weapons so it all works out. I’m sitting on about 93 million copper
I can’t really hate on this game mainly because I like my play through. Plus I think it was stated that this game was only a side project from the gaming company. That’s why it’s probably feels like this and so many other missing things here and there. I could be completely wrong about that but yeah I think it said somewhere that this game was only a side project so they didn’t have to many working on it.
The only reason you were getting one shot in New game plus wasn't the armor you were literally 5 morale lower than the boss so of course he's going to be much stronger
On that monkey boss mission you cant farm morale tho so thats why he recommend a medium or heavy armor in mission where you cant farm morale to survive 1hit KO
NIOH 1 and 2 pissed me off as I played it because mostly of sifting through new and old loot and all around inventory management in general. But the second I play something else I wanna go back to Nioh or a souls game (occasionally)
Great vid! I dont have a "Build" yet. I will say... I went from nearly rage quitting the 1st boss.... to basically slaying everything. I don't think I died once in Part 3 and hardly die there after. Anyone else having this? I dont play many of these types of game. Elden Ring i suppose... and I'm pretty mid. Did I finally "get gud"? or is this game not that hard?
I understand why people think nioh is too much but at the same time it was designed to play over and over. I hated how difficult it was to figure out nioh but once I did I realized how much better it was designed than most other action rpg games….take this Gane for instance, I guarantee it will not hss as he anywhere close to niohs replay ability.
My complaint was the maps repeating and lack of enemy variety got old after your third difficulty but they did add new levels and boss’s or at least changed repeated boss mechanics….nioh 2 really is one of the best games ever made.
@@alexrogers9051 i think that’s unfair to say because you’re comparing a game on a dlc difficulty and patches complete with a game that doesn’t have its dlc yet or a lot of patches. And keeping in mind, those games were rough around the edges when their dlc was fresh too.
Is it normal for when you switch skills sets at a flag to be completely naked or did my glitch or something ? I made a few builds and it's a bit annoying I have to go back to the village to pick up my armor before I leave to a do a run

So frustrating trying to get enchants: I've salvaged so much gear I hit level frag cap all the time but still not seen even *one* enchant. I'd be ok with it being a bit rare, but at this rate I'm gonna finish NG+ without seeing any (just kicked Dong Zhuo's ass on Rising Dragon). If many players don't get them, the effort developing them is wasted.
Wait elemental attack doesn't increase my damage when I use a weapon with a lightning skill for example? Is that only lightning flat dmg or also lightning percentage dmg?
So you can feed the panda jewels directly? Have you tried seeing if you can pair jewels along with accessories like rerolling soul cores with Sudama in Nioh 2? I'm wondering if there is any way you can manually reroll set accessories specifically, or if you are totally at the mercy of RNG.
Seems like there’s a lot more ganks in this game. After zone 4 I felt like I’m always fighting a big guy with 3 fire pot guys in sniper perch’s throwing stuff at me while I fight
@Typical GoodGuysClub bro no offense but your reply just made things more confusing. Spirit attacks are just strong attacks (triangle on ps4), they spend your spirit bar and do more damage based on how much spirit you have. Martial arts are the two special moves each weapon can do by pressing R1 plus triangle or square. Some of them have special effects or additional inputs.
I have 2 pieces of the toxin enchant skill but can't embed them in the weapons i wanna use. I have the money needed but just can't embed toxin enchant. Anyone know why is that?
@@PWARGaming They do, but I'm not sure if the language being consistent means they're necessarily mechanically consistent. The generic Damage Dealt, Damage Dealt in Perfect Condition, and Damage Bonus ([Element] Attack Power) are the ones I tested and they all functioned the way I described.
I have a basic tier question. What happens to the attributes I remove when embedding? Do they disappear or do they go in my inventory for embedding on other equipment?
As if the toned down weapon system wasn't egregious enough - one combo string for weapons, no skill choices, no %skill damage stats and honestly so many enemies that don't even have auto attack windows' those God sets you mentioned will be the only meta. You'll mix your Elements NG+ god set with some other set and that's that - 30%+ increased damage depending on the mix. The inclusion of those chase sets is the death of build diversity in the game if you're a min maxer. Sure hope Nioh 3 is in the works.
Am I the only one experiencing the problem of the gear boxes giving the same weapon variant every time. I've been trying to get a 4 star chivalrous dual swords but keep getting aspiration ever since I maxed out Loud Bei. I want to know if it happens to anyone else or other weapons as well. Or I'm just unlucky.
So if you find an item with a grace on it, it doesn't show the set you need for you to get tier V...is that a bug...or do you need only that item with the grace on it to get all tiers? Confusing
different ways to apply it but all do the same thing. spirit damage is universal, so even spell dmg could benefit from it. martial arts is only effected by martial arts wpn skills. and melee = all melee atks, even martial arts. typically the more specific it is, the higher than rolls.
they need some kind of stat compare feature- I've love to know easily if the dmg bonus from my ice attack is better/worse than the dmg bonus from light equip load etc
Is there a way to access SHITIESHOU demons again in NG+ if you already fed them all during NG? I want to farm them for accessories like you explained how to do, but have already completed the game & found most of them...
pretty sure they can still appear. check out my reroll method video for accessories, i'm pretty sure i completed that side quest, and fed them and traveled back to the same stage, and it was there still. if not, then you'd have to complete the quest without feeding for them to stay locked in the shadow realm forever

Side note note sure how important however you can feed a panda armor or weapon with moded stats red blue and green and that trinket will more likely have it instead of hoping for each one red blue and green stat to come out of rolling another trinket
they are their own set bonuses. so can't appear on other set bonuses, only appear on non-set bonus gear. and aside that not much different aside appearing in ng+ only. their last effect are pretty powerful in comparison to normal sets which only give bout 6-8% dmg, whereas some graces final effect give 15-20%
yes, damage and melee attack effects all things. martial arts or fatal strike just give slightly higher %, but obviously a more generalist damage type is better, since melee atk will effect normal, martial, AND fatal strike dmg. its the best one imo, unless you can get dmg vs enemy with debuffs which is more % just conditional trigger but is easy to proc with many purple/special icon effects.
i've got it 2/3 times. now, keep in mind, if it doesn't drop, simply quit out and spawn back in to try again. so you can do the same method as my reroll video, and get a bunch still. its just got some rng compared to just swapping 5 star for 5 star
There are special gems that can be removed without actually salvaging them. Dosnt matter if it's 1star or higher. It's just that during the beginning of the game it's better to salvage anyway because the jewel fragments sell for 1k each.
Hey PWAR. Is it possible to make a video, where you explain, what stat (embed) do? Its too much for me. Spirit Damage. Melee Damage. Martial Arts Damage. I.e Whats the difference between Martial Arts Damage and Martial Arts Spirit Damage? What is Spirit Damage? Why should i maximize spirit damage instead of (raw) melee damage? Or is Spirit Damage the kind of Damage that i do, while attacking with Guding Blades Martial Art? Sorry, but i dont get it. Why do you have to make it so unnecessarily complicated? I don't understand the deflect difficulty, you gain spirit when you deflect why does it say spirit you lose, and other stats are like losing less spirit when deflecting. But i don't get it you don't lose any when deflecting
Anyone able to answer my question on gems? Do you only get to keep effects off gear you salvaged? Like if you extract a gem slot off a piece that doesn’t get added to your list of gems you can use for new items
There are special essence gems to embed. You can remove these without salvaging the equipment. Granted you should be salvaging most gear anyway until your gear sells more than the fragments you can receive.

At the panda thing you can also drop +8 4 star gear to get a guaranteed 5 star accessory.
nice. but those usually give you 11+ frags and materials so its technically worse than just 9 jewels.
You can reroll 5 star ststs, save before feeding panda, feed it the 5 star piece it will get rerolled

How similar is the combat is Wo Long compared to the Nioh games. Always wanted to play them but until recently I only had an xbox.

this games got problems that its own developers solved 6 YEARS AGO Maybe this is B team while A team is working on Ronin?
I was disappointed by earth. Maxed out the stat and wearing all heavy armor was still B agility. Was hoping for A.

So you can feed the panda jewels directly? Have you tried seeing if you can pair jewels along with accessories like rerolling soul cores with Sudama in Nioh 2? I'm wondering if there is any way you can manually reroll set accessories specifically, or if you are totally at the mercy of RNG.

What are spirit attacks and what are martial arts attacks? I thought they were the same thing...but, there's a stat for each...
Spirit atk are the one that makes enemy break faster, while MA atk are enhancing MA atk for hp since MA also has spirit atk too
@Typical GoodGuysClub bro no offense but your reply just made things more confusing. Spirit attacks are just strong attacks (triangle on ps4), they spend your spirit bar and do more damage based on how much spirit you have. Martial arts are the two special moves each weapon can do by pressing R1 plus triangle or square. Some of them have special effects or additional inputs.
I have 2 pieces of the toxin enchant skill but can't embed them in the weapons i wanna use. I have the money needed but just can't embed toxin enchant. Anyone know why is that?

you can fight him in chapter 4 in the plum side mission and try your rng.
Either "HP damage" is a mistranslation for "Physical damage" or it's bugged, as it doesn't affect any Elemental damage from what I tested.

@@PWARGaming They do, but I'm not sure if the language being consistent means they're necessarily mechanically consistent. The generic Damage Dealt, Damage Dealt in Perfect Condition, and Damage Bonus ([Element] Attack Power) are the ones I tested and they all functioned the way I described.
I have a basic tier question. What happens to the attributes I remove when embedding? Do they disappear or do they go in my inventory for embedding on other equipment?

Yes yes they do
As if the toned down weapon system wasn't egregious enough - one combo string for weapons, no skill choices, no %skill damage stats and honestly so many enemies that don't even have auto attack windows' those God sets you mentioned will be the only meta. You'll mix your Elements NG+ god set with some other set and that's that - 30%+ increased damage depending on the mix. The inclusion of those chase sets is the death of build diversity in the game if you're a min maxer.
Sure hope Nioh 3 is in the works.

Am I the only one experiencing the problem of the gear boxes giving the same weapon variant every time. I've been trying to get a 4 star chivalrous dual swords but keep getting aspiration ever since I maxed out Loud Bei.
I want to know if it happens to anyone else or other weapons as well. Or I'm just unlucky.
So if you find an item with a grace on it, it doesn't show the set you need for you to get tier V...is that a bug...or do you need only that item with the grace on it to get all tiers? Confusing

I dont get the difference between spirit damage and mêlée attack spirit damage or martial arts spirit damage
different ways to apply it but all do the same thing. spirit damage is universal, so even spell dmg could benefit from it. martial arts is only effected by martial arts wpn skills. and melee = all melee atks, even martial arts. typically the more specific it is, the higher than rolls.

Is there a way to access SHITIESHOU demons again in NG+ if you already fed them all during NG? I want to farm them for accessories like you explained how to do, but have already completed the game & found most of them...
pretty sure they can still appear. check out my reroll method video for accessories, i'm pretty sure i completed that side quest, and fed them and traveled back to the same stage, and it was there still. if not, then you'd have to complete the quest without feeding for them to stay locked in the shadow realm forever

You can use the panda bears to reroll your accessories. He will always throw back the same star leveled piece of accessory but with diff stats.

@@architype it only works once per panda you find per level, so if you keep replaying missions that have them then you can do it for free
Side note note sure how important however you can feed a panda armor or weapon with moded stats red blue and green and that trinket will more likely have it instead of hoping for each one red blue and green stat to come out of rolling another trinket

I'm sorry but can someone please explained to me what exactly the graces are how they work, do they work with other set pieces
they are their own set bonuses. so can't appear on other set bonuses, only appear on non-set bonus gear. and aside that not much different aside appearing in ng+ only. their last effect are pretty powerful in comparison to normal sets which only give bout 6-8% dmg, whereas some graces final effect give 15-20%
The arrows thing is nuts ..especially since you can only carry 10...better off just buying 10 each time you're at a flag
yah, wish i knew all this before i bought 3000 arrows (thinking they auto restocked from storage like every other game)

yes, damage and melee attack effects all things. martial arts or fatal strike just give slightly higher %, but obviously a more generalist damage type is better, since melee atk will effect normal, martial, AND fatal strike dmg. its the best one imo, unless you can get dmg vs enemy with debuffs which is more % just conditional trigger but is easy to proc with many purple/special icon effects.
Tried dropping 9 Frags about 30 times now, no 5* accessories. Not really a very high chance is it?
i've got it 2/3 times. now, keep in mind, if it doesn't drop, simply quit out and spawn back in to try again. so you can do the same method as my reroll video, and get a bunch still. its just got some rng compared to just swapping 5 star for 5 star

There are special gems that can be removed without actually salvaging them. Dosnt matter if it's 1star or higher. It's just that during the beginning of the game it's better to salvage anyway because the jewel fragments sell for 1k each.

I don't understand the deflect difficulty, you gain spirit when you deflect why does it say spirit you lose, and other stats are like losing less spirit when deflecting. But i don't get it you don't lose any when deflecting
you do when you "miss" a deflect. go in town and press circle and you'll see.
Anyone able to answer my question on gems? Do you only get to keep effects off gear you salvaged? Like if you extract a gem slot off a piece that doesn’t get added to your list of gems you can use for new items
There are special essence gems to embed. You can remove these without salvaging the equipment. Granted you should be salvaging most gear anyway until your gear sells more than the fragments you can receive.
