I also feel like the game didn't explain to newcomers about how your blue gauge is like a "CASHOUT" mechanism. The more you have, the more damage gained when your finally use your heavy attack. You wanna mix your martial arts between your weak attacks, NOT your heavies to maintain decent blue until you find a good time to punish at 100% blue. you can include spells with your parried for building status too. You don't always have to heavy attack after your parry.
Dude thankkkkkkk you for this. Because this whole game I have been getting myself jussssst into the blue meter and instantly cashing out with a heavy every single time. I'm gonna keep this in mind from now on
Be aggressive but not too aggressive (spamming the attack button) because the main mechanic of this game is to deflect enemies attack which I am bad at because I spam attack and get hit when they do charge attacks 😅
Possible spoiler warning really good farming area is the stage where Lu Bu is the boss. If you do continuous loops around the wall of the fortress before you go in to fight Lu Bu you can level up really fast. I start at the gate to the boss encounter with Lu Bu and go left if you're facing the entrance to that fight and climb up the wall then fight the enemies on the wall all the way across then drop off the wall at its end and make your way back to the gate to Lu Bu. You can really get it worked out and streamlined to where you can do loops around really fast and depending on what level you are when you start you can level up each pass for a while. I went from around level 50 or so to level 84 in a pretty quick amount of time. The great thing is that there's multiple flags along the wall and out front of the wall.
At the end of the bridge use the fire crossbow to shoot the tiger and you can farm even faster. The wrestler with the mallet always performs a red attack first... easy farm
Pro tip. Just get all flags and your morale rank will be same as bosses and you won't lose it upon death. I didn't understand that . Makes the game a lot more fun.

If you wanna trivialize the game, go full earth with azure dragon set, then embed everything to spirit gain on deflect, and extra spirit damage. Wait for enemy to attack, one or two deflects will fill your spirit gauge, one spirit attack followed by the special glaive martial arts, and even bosses will be open for fatal strikes. The entire second half of the game was a cakewalk, multiple bosses one shot. Youre super chunky as well, can take a lot of damage. You can also do the dread star set for the hammer variant, it will destroy spirit even more. Just remember to decorate it into master smith, as its by far the best looking hammer.
Gotta say, though it doesn't affect sound to keep you from getting stupid OP, the Water/stealth stat makes things so much easier. Water was my primary stat (I'm always a stealth first guy when the option is there), and by the end, they couldn't see me standing less than a dozen feet away, practically right in their faces. Sometimes I'd swear an enemy was going to see me taking out another, but they were just far enough way that I was able to avoid them. Or certain fights where you can hug the wall and get behind enemies that are positioned to see you almost no matter what.
I loved Sekiro and I’m loving this. It is a little more complex than Sekiro but it also adds on to that. The variety of spells/martial arts/weapons/etc just makes it amazing
@@Freedom-kl8rt I actually preferred the first nioh game, but they were both good. I wouldn't say they were any more complex, pretty equal just different tbh.
I think that the morale mechanic is a bad one. Wo Long, like Nioh, is a looter game. The whole endgame loop is to farm gear, make a perfect min maxed set, and level up. Problem is that grinding morale makes far more of a difference than your level or gear does, making your "build" more or less irrelevant.
It just makes farming easier honestly so if you need to kill a certain enemy repeatedly just makes it a win more mechanic makes your attack stronger and more defense
Excellent breakdown of what each leveling category does. Thank you sooo much. This helps alot. I'm about 40 hrs in at level 72 and I haven't been scaling my gear right at all. I'm about to be a powerhouse.

So for legendary gem effects can you only get those off weapons when you salvage them? Not just extracting a single gem? Hi, i would like to do a water (main) and metal character build. Is it worth it? Cause i couldn't find any weapon scaling with water and metal together

Be aggressive. I uploaded some wo long video, i practiced this method on lu bu fight, using 2 npc, missing lots of the deflects i should done, but still winning the fight ^^
@@sepulcher8263 just summon them at the flag right before you enter the fight with him. But as OP was talking about, Lu bu will aggro the npcs a lot meaning you miss a lot of the deflects you need to get on him, he's a lot easier to beat if you fight him solo

If I hold the block button will it still block for me even after attacking or deflecting a attack? As it’s such a pain that this first boss has so quick reactions. I tried taking it slow and attacking only when his Red special attack is shown and other times I go in there constantly hitting him which does great but by second fight he just does me instantly as I can’t get near him due to that bloody ice attack.
first phase be super aggressive but also not so aggressive you can’t react to any of his red attacks and when you’re on second phase run around until he does his grab and deflect it. that’s the strategy i’ve found to be easiest for me just play the second phase really slow and passive
