The X1 owns the subcompact category, hands down! Over the past three to four weeks, I have driven almost nine brands/ models (including Genesis, Volvo, Audi, Cadillac, Acura, Lexus, and Alfa Romeo); the 2024 X1 blows away every car in this category. Then again, it depends on which trim you'd like to purchase. I had set my budget for $50k (including taxes and titles) and didn't want to go above it. I am lucky to get an almost fully loaded, phytonic metallic blue X1 x28i for $41k from our local dealer, saving nearly $7k off the sticker price. It's a fantastic car-fun to drive, great mileage in the city or on the freeway (I got 37.5 mpg on the highway over the weekend), and perfect for a single guy like me. I have had no issues with using the apps on panels and have zero complaints so far. And that milli-sec turbo lag? Psshhh... 0-60 in 5.4s compensates for it.
Just got one OTD with the M Sport Package, Shadowline, Convenience, a few other smaller individual options for 45k. Test drove an X3 right before it. X1 felt tighter and definitely quicker, can’t deny the interior on the X1 is much better either. Wife’s boyfriend says it’s a hoot around town too. Edit: Wifes boyfriend says the lag from a stop or anything not in sport mode takes ages to respond and is downright dangerous. Seriously it can take 1.5 seconds before the car turns back on and responds.
I find the seats in my 2023 X1 premium package very uncomfortable with no lateral support on my 5’4” size 10 frame. I had no problem with my 18 X3 or 17 440
I have one now as a loaner my 2013 x5 is in for maintenance. I like my x 5 better. This is cheap looking, I hit a bump the hubcap rim flew off. The lag, the stop when at light, I miss my I drive dial It does have massage seats which is nice, but i would not drive one and can't wait to get my car back
Let’s not get crazy here….theres no such thing as “cheap looking” BMW….my best friend bought a 2024 X1 and she loves it and it’s very well-built. P.S the flying hubcap sounds like you just need to drive better :/ but HEY not every car is for everyone.
Before you buy this vehicle, let me point out the error BMW made in its design. On the front grill area where the radiator is located and slightly visible. Designers should have considered to put a mesh grill cover. Just recently purchased the M35i version, in less than 3 weeks of driving on the freeway to go to work. A rock punctured the radiator, took it to BMW for service and unfortunately it is not covered on their warranty. Hefty service price to pay 😏
I was interested in this larger X1 but reading all of the complaints of lag makes me want to keep in first gen NA X3 six speed manual. With 65k on a 2006 I'll keep it.
I’ve a 2023 Xline X1. It’s roomy, quick, quiet and nimble. Its major drawback from a driving viewpoint is lag and jerks on starting from a stop. Also, the menu system for setup is too complex and inadequately explained, so you’ll have to get the dealer to help you choose the options you want. The third problem is expensive options: to get lumbar support, heated seats, adaptive cruise, good camera system -$45K or more.
Is someone paying you to watch these and post this same comment? This is the third or so I've seen from you. You're on every video of this car posting the same drivel. Is this the Mazda brigade I've heard about? Go do something else with your time.
I bought this car and hate it. It hesitates and has too many other quirks to list. I used to own the 2018 x1 and loved it. This car doesn't compare at all. Don't recommend at all.
@@naveenthemachine Of course I do. Do you realize that when you buy a vehicle and it’s resale value and reliability is subpar is where a fool parts with his money ?
If you buying a vehicle for resale value than your pretty much renting/leasing a vehicle. If you’re truly buying a vehicle you wouldn’t care about resale value as you will have it for at least 10 years.

I would love if you all could do a comparison review with the X1 up against the XT4.
Great Review!!!

Yes the Silver paint that became popular in 1990.
Great realistic review, just subscribed. Not sure about piano black bumpers though.
Thank you, and welcome!!
Amazing BMW! I think you guys should Review The Mercedes Benz 2024 GLS haven’t reviewed that one in a long time. :)
This is BMW’s best ever❤
It’s frustrating when car reviewers show how they fit into the car but don’t say their height. I don’t know if you are 5’7 or 6’4
Thank you for your great review!!!

Should have filed that with your car insurance
$51k? Get the X3.
Who is top of the list?
Loved it
Dual exhaust? Not on this model
28i DOES have dual exhaust, ask me how I know..
You're right, it does but they're hidden. He points to the lower diffuser and says he likes the dual exhaust outlets but there's nothing there.

This is not even the M sport and its 51k, yikes
Buy low mileage used. Problem solved.

Every car now a days fully loaded is I'm the high 50k range

The M trim is an overkill for X1.
2:15 never compare een A brand with an B/C brand ehhh 😂😂😂😂 BMW all day brokie
Love this car more then my Porsche turbo S 2023 😂
too expensive. crv for the win
Every single video you say “frustrating” a few too many times. Inconvenient? Maybe. Frustrating? I’m not so sure anymore.

Small SUV, wait for lexus lbx.
Not worth the outrageous price tag this car is worth 30k or less not worth 51k not worth the price
You think? It’s a good buy. Even at 51k. You can spend the same and get a much worse car altogether
30k or less? What are you smoking lol
🤦🏾♂️
Not worth it BMW is not the BMW of the 80s with top quality they are built in Mexico where make 2.00 dollars an hour or maybe less
sorry to burst your bubble but the x1 and x2 are ONLY made in Regensburg, Germany.
Ok boomer 😂
And your not the same guy from the 80's😂
lol not made in Mexico, do some research … this car is made in Germany.
X1 is probably the most German car BMW makes lol
Too expensive for an Unreliable vehicle.
Buy a Lexus instead
Right.. the Toyota with lipstick
You do realize that most Lexus products are just nicer Toyota Camrys and corollas with just lipstick
@@naveenthemachine Of course I do.

@@Doc1855 if you care about reliability you don’t buy a luxury car. Buy a Camry or Prius for that
@@naveenthemachine Why?
Since a Lexus is the luxury of Toyota then Naturally it will be more reliable
