I remember reading an interview with their drummer that he failed recording this song like 20 times (he was doing all the songs in one take) so he literally went outside and did donuts in the parking lot to clear his head and then got it right when he came back. You can literally hear the frustration in his playing through this entire song. Just those 4 cymbal hits at the beginning just scream "FUCK, FUCK, FUCK, FUCK"
I love the angry tone Gerard uses when singing this song. It feels so intense, but when he says "so I can't hurt you anymore!" for the second time the anger in his voice turns to pure rage followed by the genuinely scary sounding "and now, you wanna see how far down I can sink, let me go" Then goes straight into a more peaceful yet still angry tone with the next part before absolutely exploding in rage and anger for the final chorus. Fucking phenomenal.

MCR: the band so good, even Gen X loves them. Seriously, MCR lobbed some powerful ear grenades at the public, stuff that better described how we felt than the hair bands of the 80's ever could. The rage, the angst, the disappointment, everything was right there on display like some surreal store window for a place that bought broken promises and pain. Cathartic is too small of a word to describe MCR's music to those of us in need of the release. This band was the massive neon sign for generations to point at and say, "That's how I feel!"
My current favourite song on The Black Parade (yes, even more so than *that* one), and a 10/10. There's so much to love here, between the frenetic, ominous riffs, the angry drumming, the venomously self-loathing lyricism, and I especially love the absolutely unhinged boss-music vibes of the metal breakdown at about 2:45 and how the chorus has almost a surf-rock catchiness to it thanks to the instrumentation.

I had this crazy dream when I first got this album and listened to this song like a 10000times. About Aliens taking all of humans through mind control but a group of loyal dogs go on a quest to free their humans. I remember most distinctly was at 2:45, they climb over a big hill and see a massive field where aliens are taking humans on their ship, but horrified at the weapons the aliens had, hundreds and thousands of dogs charge the aliens at 2:57 and get absolutely decimated by explosions, guns, but they make it through and win and aliens retreat leaving the humans behind. Everytime I hear this song I wish it was the video clip. Haha I had to share that.
@@yesisai9379 mcr is pop music lol Edit: just wanted to say that doesn't make them bad, but you can't be an obscure underground indie band and have your least played song in an album have 18 million+ plays on spotify
@Nathaniel Phillips OK, I know this is a late reply, but I think you're confusing pop music with popular music. Pop used to just be a shortening of popular in reference to music, but nowadays, it's a defined genre. Not all pop music is popular, and not all popular music is pop. MCR were never a pop band, but they were, and still are, a popular band.
I always kinda liked MCR but i would have never heard this song if not for a random conversation with a random girl on a random discord on an uneventful tuesday. what a fukin great song
me and my first real group of friends, including my best friend who is no longer with us, absolutely loved this band. I remember going camping on a sort of school field trip and we sang all their songs hiking through the forest. MCR will always be my favorite band, and their music understands me better than really anything in this world, and I want to thank them for the memories, the inspiration, and the love and pain we all shared through this crazy lifetime. I started listening this amazing band when I was 13-14, I'm 22 now and I stopped to listen to them daily when I was about 17-18. Tonight, I overheard a song of them and now I can't stop listening all their songs. What's better is that now I understand completely the lyrics because English isn't my first language so when I was a teen my level was way lower. I can mix what I felt at the moment with what they make me feel now and is just some kind of magic ♥️♥️
Listen, I am not even into MCR but this song? It is great. I love how the music sounds, the lyrics of this WHOLE album make a story, it is just a masterpiece. One of my favorite songs made by MCR.
This song still kicks my ass every single time and I've prob heard it 15o times. It's so earnest, real, heartfelt and the music adds an urgency to Gerard's already amazing vocal.
And now i disappear and live my life alone, forever now.. never thought ill be back and never thought this song will take a literate meaning.. miss MCR
From all the music I've listened to I've never come across a band with so many bangers. It's the reason songs like this have a few million views. There's just too many fucking awesome songs
Put your head down and really listen. The vocals split and it sounds wonderful. The guitars and drums and base all blend perfectly. Really listen to this. It’s even more impressive when you try to follow the parts individually.
This has always been one of my favorites from the album. After all these years it still slaps hard. I have this fun experience when my workplace had an after-work event where we went to a place that had minigolf and _anger room_ 😁 You could choose your own music for the anger room. There I was destroying stuff with sledgehammer and with MCR blasting from the sound system. Would recommend!

Everytime I hear this song I wish it was the video clip. Haha I had to share that.
that's hilarious
Gerard just goes CRAZY FREAK MODE during this song. And I love it.
If MCR has an anime opening theme, this might be the best opening theme...
*attempts to hold everything in*....... "GO!" *in the middle of the night*
Bucket list:
*-cry over every mcr song-*
Sweet now I can die!
Carrot Chan me too!
I'm proud of you you found out how to dissapear
My Life Is A Joke see you in hell my mom is there
How did u cry on na na na ?
Hey guess what MCR is back so that means there might be more songs so you can't die yet, there's more tears to be had yet!
LISTENING TO ALL THEIR SONGS UNTIL CONCERT BUTTON 🖤
How tf do you dislike this?!?!??!? Mcr was the best band of its time and they would be even better now!!!
the people who are into pop music
@@yesisai9379 mcr is pop music lol Edit: just wanted to say that doesn't make them bad, but you can't be an obscure underground indie band and have your least played song in an album have 18 million+ plays on spotify
@Nathaniel Phillips
OK, I know this is a late reply, but I think you're confusing pop music with popular music.
1:54 is the best vocal... He just goes all out and screams his shit. I love him. I've loved Gerard from day 1.
me and my first real group of friends, including my best friend who is no longer with us, absolutely loved this band. I remember going camping on a sort of school field trip and we sang all their songs hiking through the forest. MCR will always be my favorite band, and their music understands me better than really anything in this world, and I want to thank them for the memories, the inspiration, and the love and pain we all shared through this crazy lifetime. Lewis Brancati forever!!!
love it
@@THEGruesomeGabby just kill em with kindness and always be yourself no matter what, even if it means walking alone for awhile. Your people will find you. Don't worry about what others think, put all your energy into fulfilling yourself and chasing your own dreams! You'll be a happy, successful person one day and all they'll have is regretting being a jerk their whole lives. (((:
I started listening this amazing band when I was 13-14, I'm 22 now and I stopped to listen to them daily when I was about 17-18. Tonight, I overheard a song of them and now I can't stop listening all their songs. What's better is that now I understand completely the lyrics because English isn't my first language so when I was a teen my level was way lower. I can mix what I felt at the moment with what they make me feel now and is just some kind of magic ♥️♥️
This song is extremely angsty and i love it
Soooooooo angst much loves
the feels man i'm in tears. remembering the days my chem saved my life. im not okay.
That one disliker should really disappear

Listen, I am not even into MCR but this song? It is great. I love how the music sounds, the lyrics of this WHOLE album make a story, it is just a masterpiece. One of my favorite songs made by MCR.
This is so good but you must hear “Whispering Wolf “ or “The Wave” by SLT 🐺🤘🔥🤘🐺
you know when u can't describe your feeling but its MORE THAN GREAT?i mean literally this song is making me feel something idk
An absolute favorite of mine. This song kicks so much ass, but it also hits so close to home if you read between the lines.
MY EARS AREN'T WORTHY OF THIS AMAZINGNESS
It's my birthday. What did I do to deserve this?

Ok
Hey I mean they back
@@turkialashiekh I'm pretty sure they're not interested fam, sorry
This song still kicks my ass every single time and I've prob heard it 15o times. It's so earnest, real, heartfelt and the music adds an urgency to Gerard's already amazing vocal.
My favourite song ever...i cant get over it since i was 13 years old. I just cant...
if u like this check out this hidden gem > faceless humming by The Impures
is pretty goooood :D

*they say you can still hear the emos crying*
Not anymore
i'm still crying 😩
Can't wait to see/sing this song in October at the When We're Young Festival ✨
i cant get sick of this song
The amount of impact this album has had on me is absolutely insane. Like its that one shrivel of sanity that I cling onto when I feel lost and gone.
I just found this band and am now totally obsessed.
I really love the A-E-F motif throughout the song. probably not intentional but its very prominent in the song (even in 2:27)
Other bands: if I sink, would you hold my hand
MCR: if I sink, kill me now.
It's "let me go."
Sometimes, I feel invisible in public places. I don't know if that's good or bad
And now i disappear and live my life alone, forever now.. never thought ill be back and never thought this song will take a literate meaning.. miss MCR
From all the music I've listened to I've never come across a band with so many bangers. It's the reason songs like this have a few million views. There's just too many fucking awesome songs
me and my gf scream MCR songs in the hall ways at school
You're a good boyfriend *claps*
Arianna, I'm just going to take a guess that Micheala is a girl.
Oh my i'm sorry I didn't see the name! Sorry :/
I am doing this alone..
Me and my best friend did that at a fair at the top of the farris wheel. I love my friends sm

I went back to the music I heard back in high school and holy shit now that im older I like this song even more
WHY DID I ONLY GET A NOTIFICATION NOW?
I KNOW I FEEL THE SAME OMFH IM SO LATE
Put your head down and really listen. The vocals split and it sounds wonderful. The guitars and drums and base all blend perfectly. Really listen to this. It’s even more impressive when you try to follow the parts individually.
THEY DISAPPEARED AND I'M CRYING NOW BYE I CAN'T TYPE ANYMORE
i'm sorry gerard tried to eat you
It's okay, I enjoyed it. At least if he ate me, I would get to see his ass.
Amazing thank you
well i have some news for you....
It's okay now. You're okay now.
Wait...
'Without you is how I disappear."
We are still here, MCR. KEEP GOING.
This has always been one of my favorites from the album. After all these years it still slaps hard.
I have this fun experience when my workplace had an after-work event where we went to a place that had minigolf and _anger room_ 😁
You could choose your own music for the anger room. There I was destroying stuff with sledgehammer and with MCR blasting from the sound system. Would recommend!

When this album came out I didn't appreciate it's brilliance ...now all these years later ...I have seen the light
The way Gerard says "The famous living dead" appeals to me on multiple levels
the rest of the song is great, just amazing, but at 2:17 my soul leaves my body and i a s c e n d
Same, it's the best bit imo
There’s an acapella cathedral version, that part sounds like heaven in it.
i love them they've gotten me through most of my life i miss them i have all their songs my mom goes through my music sees their songs are everywhere goes through them gets a headache gets mad and disapproves of my being emo when she finally realised i've been emo for 5 freakin years already and trys to make me girly so now I'm alone in my room listening to them still emo and listening to the voices is in my head...
Still gives me chills. That bridge is intense.
Listening to this live was amazing
