Dude if they make an album that sounds like this or especially Three Cheers I'd lose my shit. They're so good at this aggressive sound. Plus the album they played most at shrine was Three Cheers
This album is so important to MCR as a whole, and people should appreciate it more than it gets credit for. Especially the songs about 9/11, as thats the entire reason MCR was ever created. God bless you, Gerard Way, you talented being.
I will say this over and over until I'm blue in the face. Demolition Lovers is one of the best songs MCR has ever made - in my opinion - and it's also my favourite song. The part when it repeats "All we are is bullets I mean this." before going into the guitar solo. The song is so good.
I cannot tell you how many times I've listened to this, while I was doing assignments this week. And I'm still thinking; "holy crap" when I hear the transitions between the songs
@@gruntingskunk2237 tbh im used to how it is on spotify, where the songs actually play from beginning to end (which im assuming is how its supposed to be?) and i kinda prefer it that way. glad other ppl are appreciating it tho!

Hi guys I'm 42 and at 23, I fell under their beautiful chemical spell and I'm happy to report that all through out my life, I go on these MY CHEM BENDERS where I let my emotions, my depressions and my crazy mental state run free always coming out safer and stronger than before. They saved my life by giving me so much joy to be okay in my own skin. Rn, I'm in yet another awesome MCR bender. If u feel alone, invisible or like a loser, hang in there, it does get better. My life is sometimes shitty but many times pretty fucking awesome! I have a daughter and she was sooooo worth me sticking around! I feel so much peace but once in a while, I let my crazy out by rocking to this beautiful band!
uhmmm.... youre 36, not 42 if your name is correct. and you reversed positions, you mean to say you are 42 going on 23. even though you arent 42. people like you are why emo didnt age well.
I remembered I heard I'm not okay and instantly fell in love with MCR. So I told my mom I wanted their CD. She got me this one instead and I was mad kuz it wasn't 3 cheers for sweet revenge. But this is my favorite album by far. I'm so happy she got this one instead of the other one! I'm 28 and I still listen to this daily.
So this isn't just a direct rip of the album? Wonder why OP decided to do the transitions themself. Edit: ok yeah the transition between Vampires and Drowning Lessons is a bit early imo, I remember the album version being better. Actually they all sound a bit early now that I've heard everything.
The Transitions are fucking perfect every song slaps you in the face with energy. From Helpless to Hopeful. From Scared to Confident! This album reminds you it's okay to be unsure. Tell everyone rushing you to fuck off and keep trying to figure it out!
I love how you cut them together. Sounds like its preformed by a band just starting out, trying to get all their songs in at a local show. Brings me back.
This album is just so powerful. The screams are always on spot, the guitars and the bass are amazing and so fucking dynamic, the lyrics are *actually edgy* and the transitions between the tracks get me every time. How can it be so underrated? This is their first album, and it’s been so adequate that one would think this band has been composing for years. Give bullets the attention it deserves😡😤
@@ladyst4rdust I've tried to get into their other albums and I may even try again at some point because I like everything they're about and their whole aesthetic, etc. But starting at Black Parade, it's just such a departure from this and way too "poppy" for me. I get what they were going for and I respect it but it just doesn't do it for me unfortunately.
Andrew Manning yeah I get it and it’s completely understandable, not everyone has the same taste in music of course. If you prefer a more metal and less pop sound though I would suggest you give three cheers for sweet revenge a listen if you haven’t already. it’s the album that followed bullets, and it’s just so angsty and some of the guitar riffs are immaculate, if you’re into rock and roll I’d definitely recommend it, it’s my personal favorite off of their discography
@@Jrue61 mcr started to get attention with the release of sweet revenge, but went even bigger with the black parade. it was epic, theatrical, music videos aired on every big music chanel. safe to say most of mcr fans got into mcr thanks to TBP. im so tempted to put all their albums on repeat but I’m seeing them live in 2021 and I’m scared that I might get tired of their songs (even though that’s silly bc I’ve been listening to them for years)
do it! listening to bands live (though i've yet to see mcr live) is such a stark difference that even if you DID get sick of their music somehow, the live experience will add a new special feeling to these songs. also congrats on getting to see them!!
ohhh congrats!! hope you'll have the time of your life haha. I wish I could see them but the tickets are like...too expensive, and sold out already lol. Didn't think they'd announce a gig so early
Me and my friends just started emo screamo punk band based off this album! We are called 'We've Waited' Be Ready For The Revival Everyone Has Been Waiting For!
I've heard most of these songs solo. Something is different when you hear the whole album. It feels like drifting at sea with all the ups and downs. A gentle wave motion. Look how long each song is..... Genius.
The reason why I love this album is because of the heavy metal influence when it comes to riffs and song structure. The heaviest album from MCR followed by Three Cheers.
Am I the only one who has a ranking of MCR albums like this 1.there cheers for sweet revenge 2.i brought you my bullets 3. black parade 4.danger days but I do love everything they put out MCR forever
Music had always been a study aid and also a way to cope, but it gained outsize importance and psychic weight my senior year of high school fall '17, when I was applying to college and feeling utterly unequipped. The opportunity to go to college (and indeed to go to a high school with great people I was just starting to notice) was a blessing, but the mix of pressure and proximity to an uncertain future strained me, and I fell into a depression around the end of the year. In the car I had started listening to alternative radio, heard Welcome.mp3 and remembered in middle school some of the girls had loved MCR (and were trying really hard to like Danger Days, which had come out a couple years prior - I now respect it for its creative vision but for the most part I can't vibe w/ it). So I was like "huh, that was cool, I'll check the rest of their music out." Very good decision. It wasn't just MCR. A bit later, towards the end of senior year and going into summer '18, I came to find Deftones and then Nine Inch Nails, and as I fell deeper into a kind of spiritual void, their darker work came to resonate more. My time screaming along to Bullets just a few months prior seemed so stupid, tinged as it had been with an embarrassing sort of hope amidst the gloom. I did yardwork to White Pony and languished in my room with The Downward Spiral eviscerating my ears. But for a little while, MCR was a very important companion. I came to really like Three Cheers (especially the heavy stuff towards the back, "Fashion Statement" and "I Never Told You"). Bullets, however, was my first love and among a few hazy memories I can recall jamming to a few of these tracks way more than I ever had with anything else before. I felt the angst and dependency on "Honey, This Mirror." I was entranced by the atmosphere the guys created on "Vampires" (there are so many great moments in that song alone, especially the acceleration into "put the spike in my heart," but the final breakdown "can you...stake me....before" is so satisfying). The riffs and walls of guitar sound on "Drowning Lessons" are impressive enough and then you get to the end where they switch it up and you want it to go on forever. "Early Sunsets" kind of drags but that's kind of the point, him going on torturing himself, and the distinct acoustics/positioning makes it nice. "Skylines and Turnstiles" might be my favorite, despite some of the lyrics being unwieldy, because it has intensity, spirit, and a couple lines that are more than worth it. I always got chills when the verse gave way to the guitar and Gerard went "that's if you've still got one that's left/inside that cave you call a chest." I thought for the longest time it was "cage," as a play on ribcage but also to go along with the rest of the song , signifying how our routines are restricting our spirits and wasting our precious mortal lives. But cave is adequately dark lol. But oh my god, I had never heard anything like "Demolition Lovers." It blew me away. The morose, dampened intro drawing you in; the imagery of exile, survival, violence, waning life, even apocalypse; Gerard's raw screams and the passion in his voice; the alternation from slow and soft to driving to quiet to building up again; the lyrical themes; a narrative that was so metal it continued into the next album. Are you kidding me? Cinematic. This is a little "I'm 14 and this is deep" but I think, besides the wicked musicality and emotion and storytelling, there's another good idea here, hardly an original one but one that's presented well. "all we are is bullets" together with the album title suggests a couple things. First, even when you have people you love and want to protect, that protection can require you to cut others down and burn the world to put our loved ones first - your acts of devotion to them can force you to destroy, so you still define yourself as a "bullet" for them if not against them. Secondly, within close relationships, you care greatly for another person but you also make yourself vulnerable to them and might give them the ability to hurt you. You become bullets to one another. "After everything we've put each other through" Gerard sings earlier, suggesting the relationship between two people who can dish out and take a "hail of bullets" is hardly free of wounds itself. Finally, if you fail to protect a loved one, or if you lose them, the closeness of the connection means you're utterly destroyed. Gerard's character seems to want to die together, but that might be because it would be unimaginable to end the relationship a different way, leave his lover and live without her. Is every song great? No. Are some of the lyrics a little edge-lord, even more so than on later albums? Yes. But there is so much creativity and musical talent on display, not even for a debut album. I know my fondness for this thing is affected by nostalgia and its role at a dark time in my life, but I think there's tons of inherent value and soul in Bullets, and I'll vouch for it. Glad to see so many others enjoying it.
you should write more, y'know. you really should. this is pure talent, never seen anyone express themself with words like u did. it's beautiful and ig i just forgot how to english

Alot of MCR's other discography is also good too.
MCR is not just for emos, i never was emo and i love them stop saying stuff that can be interpreted like only emo are supposed to like them, they are not an emo band.
@@watermelon6593 I wasn't around when emo was a whole thing back then, but due to MCR songs nature, they got swept up in it all and are just dubbed as emo by the people who followed on just for the hype. The people who said they were emo and therefore listened to MCR won't be the actual fans here now. I agree, MCR isn't emo, and people who aren't emo like both of us can like them.

I found MCR in 2020 at one of the lowest points in my life. I was 13 going on 14 back then and was in a pretty bad place mentally because of an abuse my ex friend was putting the trough. MCR really helped me cope with all the trauma and create the person I am today. "you're not in this alone" is the 1st line of skylines and turnstiles which was the very very 1st song the have ever written and it shows how much this band cares about their fans. MCR really saves lives. every time i feel down I come back to this album and listen to it on repeat until life feels good again. I love MCR and Gerard Way with all my heart. Since 2000 (especially now) there hasn't been anything that comes close to this. As a generation, in our western world at least .. nothing compares. Possibly the best album... Ever? This is my favorite album of all time of any music. It has beautiful harmonies. The guitar tones. The drumming. The nylon string intro in "Romance". First time I heard this was 10th grade. An emo boy I had a crush on showed me the music video for "Vampires will never hurt you". At this point, My Chem broke up a month earlier. All I knew from them was "Bulletproof heart" off of DD. Time literally froze when he showed me bullets. We went to his place after class and listened to the whole thing. I will and can never get tired of this record. I will die with this record in my arms. Spent $500 last year for tickets to see them in Philly next September. So fucking pumped.

Well you could be lucky, a reunion is coming 🤞🏻
This album is so important to MCR as a whole, and people should appreciate it more than it gets credit for. Especially the songs about 9/11, as thats the entire reason MCR was ever created. God bless you, Gerard Way, you talented being.
And Mikey, Ray, Frank and Matt
I will say this over and over until I'm blue in the face. Demolition Lovers is one of the best songs MCR has ever made - in my opinion - and it's also my favourite song. The part when it repeats "All we are is bullets I mean this." before going into the guitar solo. The song is so good.
i love demolition lovers but hate that it makes me cry
Also one of my favorites.

They cut off the ending part of Vampires! I wanna hear about some ghosts in the snow.
The transition from Honey This Mirror to Vampires was also great

Drowning out these gray stained windows
And the view outside is sterile
And I'm only two cubes down

But you can't now, I don't blame you
And it's not your fault that no one ever does

And they might fill your place
A temporary stand-in for your face
This happens all the time
And I can't help but think I'll die alone
So I'll spend my time with strangers
A condition and its terminal
In this water-cooler romance
And it's coming to a close
We could be in the park and dancing by a tree
Kicking over blades we see
Or a dark beach with a black view
And pin-pricks in the velvet catch our fall
But you don't work here anymore
Its just a vacant 3 by 4
And they might fill your place
A temporary stand-in for your face

It's actually the only MCR album I thoroughly enjoy from start to finish. Wish they could've kept on like this longer.
Andrew Manning oh to be honest I enjoy all of them. But you’re right, that was a vibe that I wish we’d gotten more of!
@@strawberryswoosher7070 be my bestie because this is the only order I accept :)
Glad to see so many others enjoying it.
dang kid. you basically (literally) said it all. insert /sounds of love and intense crying because i have no words. why isn't everyone liking this?
