Cody and the D'Acquisto family are deer hunting machines that consistently tag big bucks every deer season. Cody's dad Andrae D'Acquisto founded Lone Wolf in the 80's and was a pioneer for aggressive bowhunting strategy.

I'm not sure I have ever fully agreed with someone on their way of hunting and their thoughts on different scenarios but listening to Cody talk is spot on with how I hunt, I didnt disagree with one thing he said... Good Interview!

So what your saying is you own your private ground and you lease multiple properties surrounding your private ground n run 40-50 trail cameras to hunt whitetails cus that’s what Codi was saying…He only hunts private Travis I think you really missed that point in the beginning of the interview man really

The tone of this interview became unbearable 20 minutes in. Let him talk. This just sounded so combative. Stressed me out to listen to.
Right? Confrontational from the start for some reason. D'Acquisto handles it well, but he gives very few f*cks. He knows some people are brick walls when it comes to hunting mature whitetails, 'Cool man. Good luck' seems to be his go-to farewell.
I came here to see if I was the only one who felt this way.
I love opening weekend/week And especially SEPT. 17. LOL. 2 pope and young I've shot opening week.
great interview! I really liked how the interviewer pushed cody for the specifics. This style is by far the most helpful/informative.

I love this interview. Makes me want to hunt mornings more this year but I'm always worried about bumping deer out of fields or getting to close to bedding and ruining it.
Fact is the key to success is scouting, hard work and time in the stand. Make it happen! My three keys in success in this order. PRAYER PATIENTS and PERSISTENCE.

I like the idea/concept of not getting all hung up on the "rules" of how it should be done and just take some chances ... And this is what I dig about Cody & Andre !
Was this an interrogation or an interview? Was waiting for his lawyer to pop out and tell him not to answer that and incriminate himself.

I’ve literally listened to this interview start to finish every bit of 10+ times. Cody is the real deal. Had my shooter last fall at 30 yards while hunting from the ground in a standing cornfield overlooking a small finger that entered into a waterway. Didn’t kill him that night even though I should’ve but capitalized two weeks later. Find the sign, analyze it thoroughly, and make it happen. Simple as that.
I love how you kept hammering out the details. Situational is the key word in this interview. I see some poor sucker that has permission on one property clearing the field out every morning..because why not.

Killed my biggest buck on a field edge in the morning and then 4 days later my buddy shot another wall hanger out of the same stand in the same exact spot if you wanna shoot big bucks you gotta take calculated risks
Good interview! The guy seems super keyed in on how to hunt and be successful doing so. For everyone bagging on the interviewer I think he did a heck of a job. Seemed like all he was trying to do was get more detailed answers and more knowledge out of Cody and for that I’m appreciative.

I killed the biggest buck of my life walking in to my stand in the morning. I seen all this crazy rut action in the morning the day before I had a deer run at me. He was thinking I was another deer and was coming to see what I was came 5 yards I could only see rack as I was duct in the high weeds so it was gray light. So the next morning I went it slowly just after gray light and he ran right to me and shot him off the ground in the morning, I love mornings. When I was making it to my stand in the end of October I had deer coming at 8 9 10am before I shot this 10 going in on nov 4th.

The fact you got anything out of the Dacquistos these days is amazing, been waiting for YEARS for new stuff. However, he definitely didnt like your questions I can tell. He even sounds like Andrae from a pure audio perspective.
Jeremy Hoffman the interviewer and Cody are good friends so it made for a more candid interview.

Also i think he hunts in Iowa and thats kind of a low pressured state where you might be able to get away with some very aggressive tactics you can in do that but some heavy pressured bucks are gonna catch on so you gotta jump on em fast but hey they got the big ones on the wall so im not gonna argue, but some areas are totally different
@@conflict7269 I've been to the Midwest. Even the public is a different ball game than the public in PA. Never was fortunate enough to hunt good private out of PA, refuse to use an outfitter. I can't imagine how awesome it must be to do so.
If the wind is swirling at your stand try moving your stand 40 yards up or down the trail see what it's doing there.
Great listen, I listed to a small clip of this podcast a few days ago n it seemed like cody couldn’t handle this guys but now I see now he’s just passionate and sick of these excuses everyone puts out there. Hunt hard man great listen!

Loved this one - He came off as an expert in this interview. Good job, Cody. Note: 57:00 Exactly right about shooting anywhere near the shoulder. I also lost 2 deer shot in the shoulder (10-15 yard shot with 65-70# bow) and never found either one after 4-7 hours of searching.
If you dont live where big deer live it doesn't matter how good you are. I think there are some great hunters out there that dont get the recognition of being a buck killer to no fault of their own. The guy that pounds public every killing pope and young class bucks regularly imo are waaaaaaaaaaaaay more skilled than a deer farm manager like the drurys, lakoskys, you pick the name.

I think Cody's way of thinking is so on point. You have to get in on them! A nocturnal buck is a daylight buck somewhere you just have to find out where.. The big money TV shows have a lot of people brainwashed to think you NEED all these products and perfect conditions.. Great interview!!

Yes... totally agree! Every situation is diffrent. Don’t be afraid to fail. Stay aggressive with common sense. That’s the message i get everytime i hear the D’Acquisto’s speak!
I felt like this was an argument more than an interview

Cody is one of my really close friends, and he’s light years ahead of most hunters in skill and mindset. I try to really pull stuff out of him when we have these conversations and sometimes we get fired up haha.
I liked the give and take. It was like friends having a passionate discussion over a beer (in the rain.)
Yupp that's me work 40 plus coach little league football wrestling and baseball and still make time to workout and get in the woods it's all about priority

Right. I LOVE it when people don’t buy into all of the gimmicks and BS, and don’t have sponsors and guided hunts....and smash GIANT mature bucks every year....these type guys are real hunters and would make the majority of the TV personalities look like a joke if they actually had to do the work and hunt like Cody, Andre, Dan Infalt...and guys like these. Love it!
Funny.....a Scentlok suit is kinda like a "bubble"! And I can shoot a bow from a Scentlok suit! 🤷🏻♂️ These people have a ton of work ethic, yet won't do what's necessary to eliminate scent because "it's too much work"! 😂

Hunting deer that aren't pressured is true deer hunting....I wish i could do it every year. Pressure vs Non Pressured deer....there is nothing like it. I agree with all of what Cody said from prep to hunting and scent control. What I would point out though and i'll use the word "situational", is most techniques that work in Iowa don't translate well in other states. Pressure being THE #1 influence. Iowa has little to none in comparison to many other states.
My post was not to diminish or downplay what others have accomplished in Iowa. i'm just pointing out the fact that when you hunt deer that are not pressured, you can actually enjoy your hunt and not have to worry about other human factors. Watching deer moving naturally and not moving a certain way because of human influences is a great time.
There are not scripts to hunting. I think that's what Cody is saying without trying to be a chit head. People love to quote rules on hunting "they say this and they claim that". There are no rules, big sign, big tracks, big deer. Sign don't lie.
Blu Gill Pressure is definitely a huge variable when considering everything.
@@ExodusOutdoorGear Lots of people say "my deer are pressured" as an excuse for being somewhere where there are no big deer or when they settle for smaller.

Dude has a lot of good info and a lot im sure we didnt get because this guy wouldnt shut the hell up after he asked a question.
I dont think Bucks need mirrors to know what they have on their heads...they can feel their rack when they rub and walk through the thicker stuff...plus if they are outside their ears they can probably see their main beams
I listened to this around the time this came out. But I see it was released on Spotify on their podcast this year in late spring. I do like the fact he asked Cody a lot of questions cause sometimes I feel like out of all people the D’Aquistos can be vague. But the proof is there they know their stuff! But this guy who did the interview even pissed me off lol cut him off to much and seemed like he didn’t care what Cody said. Enjoyed this one to pick Cody’s brain but shitty job on exodus end. Couple different points where he could of kept the conversation going further but would take two steps forward and one step back. But regardless they normally put out great content.
This is when Exodus use to interview the best bow hunters Andre & Cody! Nowadays exodus just interviews anyone who claims this or claims that but are clueless BUT Andre & Cody are the best to EVER DO IT!

He picks his brain to the final detail. “I scouted” ok what EXACTLY did you scout, define it, explain it, etc. Very informative.
37:55....anyone else notice the ‘sasquatch’ eye shine in the top left corner of that video.....??? Not saying that it is a Sasquatch.....but what is it?
A raccoon would be way closer in eye distance to each other and way more movement...and owls blink a lot.....just saying....what else could that be? Again, not saying for sure Sasquatch...but what else could it be....as far as a larger nocturnal animal...that high up in the tree’s. I have never seen a pure no doubt daylight, clear sighting...but I have had some things happen to me, a dark HUGE silhouette sighting of something upright and about 7’ tall 30 mins before light...and some vocalizing that was nothing that I know of....and after those experiences....and lots of research....it is a real possibility that they are real. And there IS LOTS of evidence of SOMETHING....this coming from a pure non believer, skeptical....bow hunter that has been hunting for over 20 years with a bow....and after some REALLY weird crap happening in the woods, some crazy finds....and real research....this is the conclusion I am coming to....there is SOMETHING out there people are not willing to admit or not willing to be open minded to. All I am saying is after my experiences....I started doing some real research and there is A LOT of legit evidence of something....but beware because there is a lot of bullshit fake stuff out there too.

This kind of cracked me up. The guy keeps saying over and over "But how do you know?" If you knew, it would be called deer shooting, not deer hunting. Just stack the facts in your favor, play the wind. Just like the deer do. You all lost me when he said he'd rather gut shoot a deer than vitals!!! WTF. Tasty.....Wow.
he said hed rather have a gut shot than a shoulder shot. he probably means actually hitting one in the shoulder blade which is a high shot and bad penetration usually.
