I think it hunts because of your non-native lens. Try it with a 24-70 GM ii.

Hey Jon, glad to see you back with a new video. I’ve been a subscriber for a long time. I mainly subscribed to see more about captain Cooke Hawaii but I’m also a UA-camr with 76k subs (tech connect) myself. Glad you mentioned that the video is I bit better on the a7s3 because that’s my camera too and I was thinking about getting the a7r5 for the quality stills but video is my main use so I don’t think I’ll upgrade. I appreciate the info. To get you UA-cam channel to the next level I think you have to leverage your unique location in Hawaii. Maybe videos on how to shoot epic tropical shots. You know how forest videos and pics the white balance is often messed up. Fixing that would be a good tutorial. Anyway, keep up the great work and enjoy the aloha.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll check you out. I'm in the process of making a travel film about Kona so hopefully I finish that soon. Just trying new things RN and trying to be consistent but it is so hard! Hopefully I'll find my niche / content vibe soon.

@@Jon_bodhi love what you have done with your channel. It seems like it’s really hard for content creators with less frequent videos but high quality content to get picked up by the algorithm. I think it favors quantity a lot.

if you don't need the 61 Mp resolution, is it not that much different from A7IV except for the LCD screen?

I just like it for the ibis when shooting video. I never use 61 mp. Screens and viewfinder at 10x better tho

What are your Auto focus settings when it come to portrait photography. I have two granddaughters and I am having trouble nailing the focus when they are in action.

Great Video. I am a hobbyist and have a A7IV. I like it except the LCD screen. Very low resolution and not fun to shoot with. Also, liked the colors of the jpegs that you shared. Did you shoot using any picture profile or just creative style? Any white balance shifts or just auto? Thanks.

    • @Jon_bodhi

Does anyone here carry a camera when you just hangout? Is A7RV too much to carry? I find it better buy than A7C series because they are similar size and just like A7C with a bigger EVF attached on top plus you get better 4 ways screen too. I plan to get 70-200mm F4 MACRO OSS G II with 2X tele to have 600mm zoom plus 1:1 macro but should I do macro with that and not just use some reverse lens DIY or 2-5X Ultra macro lens for even closer macro, that is the only tele with 1:1 macro and it's one of the reason I choose Sony too? Originally I thought to just get one lens and it is the 20-70mm F4 because it start from ultrawide to short tele but realised I can do more if I want to get a dedicated camera after coming from shoot with phone, hence get that lens won't be enough and better I go more specialised lens"es", so I thought to get that 70-200 and a 16-35mm F4 G PZ, thought to just shoot closer things and video with standard Yellow iPhone 15 but it will be a waste not to use such camera to shoot these so I get that 16-35mm lens, I also thought to get one F0.95 lens or a tilt shift lens to experiment and create some photos and videos ideas I have in mind. What do you guys think, did I made the right lens choice? If not for these native Sony lens I mentioned, any other brands will do likely but I want to have as less lens as possible and Sony give me that while have a body not too small and not too big plus that only 4 ways screen available currently. I find it hard to justify to get something in between, either go actual pocketable small like RX100 or go proper size with great capabilities camera like A7RV, something in between won't give you pocketable experience yet you still won't get bigger EVF, grip and screen from a slightly bigger camera body.
