@@Fenrisulv987-nl8kh They get so excited about a win like this against a team in a little lull and then disregard an ass kicking from Tampa. Games matter. They have been saying the Leafs have been cruise control for 3 weeks. Oilers win matters the Canes loss doesn't which is it?
I’d love to turn on Leafs Talk after a big win and not have the first 5 minutes be negative. We need a show that actually cheers on the team.

Big win, but wow.. that 3rd period...Overall, Leafs stood toe to toe with a now hated rival, and totally dominated them for 40 minutes. Mentally, this was a huge win for the players who were here for that series almost a year ago. Now they need to focus on Tampa, build off this momentum, keep it going...

Regarding the crowd/volume at Leafs Games at Scotiabank Arena.... Objectively speaking there is a larger % of corporate ticket sales than most rinks around the league and that definitely contributes to volume and intensity of the crowd in the building..... But I think there is a MASSIVE intangible that often goes unaccounted for in this discussion and that is the Collective PTSD we all have from the Leafs consistently putting up big leads and then blowing them late in games. I can't say for sure, but I think we are the only fanbase in the entire League who bites our nails and puckers our butts when our team has a 4 goal lead going into the 3rd period. I don't think there is another fanbase in the league that feels the way we do when the Leafs have a lead, we are collectively terrified to cheer too loud and get our hopes up, just for them to be dashed in the final minutes and feel stupid for being so excited minutes before. I can't speak for the entire fanbase, but I know for a fact that is how us die hard fans feel about the team.
For me, Marner should be the leagues greatest “3rd liner” upon his return. Just give domi a shift off every now and then.

I think the priority should be resting these guys...esp Matthews. I would agree playing there best players at the end of season might be a mistake. Pantheres are a dirty team and yeah it would not surprise me if they target another guy right before the playoffs. They played dirty against the bruins and also got away with it. No way panthers are as good as there record shows. Esp last season. There beatable. That said I thought the pick up off Bertuzzi and Domi in off season was smart. I can see them being clutch come playoffs. I would still consider Robertson too for the playoffs. Tough decisions for coaching I think.
Reeves is in my game one line up, he is going to be needed for that fore check and punishing the Defense of the other team.
And being a Leafs fan, i want the focus to be on the win. In fact, a big win. I thought before the game that Pans were going to win but nope a great win. Enough guys.

Keefe is to blame for the 3rd, in my opinion. There is no reason why your 4th line plays during a 6 on 5.

Sorry, but for the team to go deep in the playoffs, their identity has to move towards toughness and resiliency, secondary scoring in the playoffs. That being said having Matthews hot is not a bad thing. But I’m sure he would trade 70 for a deep playoff run, cup. In a heartbeat.
Good team win. I'm sure they're trying some things with the starters out of the lineup. Sammy outplayed Bob and we got a victory in a nothing game. The best point made is we're not gonna be intimidated this year. This is a different team. More physical. LFG!

this is an emberassing podcast. Leafs dominated and beat a great team WITHOUT Marner, Reilly, Jarnkrok, Edundson and all you did was make excuses for the Panthers and rag on the Leafs. SHUT THIS GARBAGE DOWN!
We all try to keep emotions on an even keel with the Leafs, because it's a constant roller coaster. However, this was a huge win against a hated rival and possible 1st round opponent. The boys were just a bit too somber, but I've seen them get overhyped as well.
Jeez, the boys got things wrong here this time, too many overthought “feels”, too little facts. They should also look at post game reactions more to understand the players’ views.

Having Domi and Bertuzzi w Matthews , protects Matthews. During playoffs the goons will purposely try and injur Matthews. That line needs to stay together. Make Mitch a centre and whom ever he centre will instantly become better players. Gotta 💯 try something different this time or u going to get same results.
This is rare for me, because I find myself agreeing with JD a lot, but his take on the importance of Matthews hitting 70G is fallacious, in my opinion. 'If' it's true that the team plays best when Matthews is buzzing and scoring goals, isn't it also too risky to shoot for scoring 70 goals and risking a Matthews injury? Matthews has done enough, he has had injury problems, and it isn't unreasonable to have a suspicion or fear at the very least that another player from a rival team like BOS or FLA will go after him. And if THAT happens, and Matthews tweaks just a muscle, that will impact his confidence, his physical prowess and goal-scoring touch tremendously. If we're basing this off of JD's perspective that the team plays best when Matthews is feeling it, how would a series look if Matthews wasn't 100%?? I don't like it. We absolutely need AM at 100% if we're going to do anything in the playoffs (again, imho), and therefore it's an unnecessary risk to play until game 82, shooting for 70 goals. Love the podcast, love Leafs Talk. Best Leafs show out there, right with Kyper and Bourne. Hit the thumbs-up people!!

Am I the only one that's been noticing the DJ in the stadium hasn't been doing a good job getting the crowd into the game. Questionable song Choices also not starting leafs chants to get the crowd energized

I remember once I went to a podcast not knowing if Leafs won or not. The chat was extremely negative. I finally learned that the Leafs had beaten the Flyers, but you'd never know it from the chat

I still think Robertson is a better player than knies. Robertson is being played like a second fiddle. He is trying to make the leafs roster and once the team is healthy, he's back down to the marlies.
Robertson needs to be in the NHL. If the TML has no room for him on the main roster....trade him. Give him his NHL dream. He deserves a chance to shine in the NHL. Stop holding him back.
I don't care that there's only 8 games left. Sheldon Keefe is a LOUSY, LOUSY coach. Fire him NOW. Maybe that will wake up this team. They are going to get DESTROYED in the first round of the playoffs.

When the puck drops in 3 weeks the Panthers blow the Leafs off the ice. Keep kidding yourself that the Lesfs will physically crush them. Dillusianal
