I don't want to spoil anything, but the intro music to each episode is always different until the last episode when it takes shape and turns into something "familiar".
My mother used to watch Perry Mason reruns ALL the time. Perry was not a depressed and dumpy detective. He was a straight-laced criminal lawyer in the 50's - 60's, not the 20's.
While the 50's/60's TV series is probably the first thing that comes to mind when people hear the name "Perry Mason", the first Perry Mason novel was published in 1933. This series is set in 1932 and is a direct prequel. Mason transition from jaded detective to scrappy, idealistic lawyer midway through.
Looks interesting. Would be cool if he had a lawyer friend he sought advice from to see what he can and cannot get away with. Realizes his lawyer friend is too lenient on criminals; yet also realizes there's only so much an investigator can do. Then becomes the defense attorney to make sure the criminals are put to justice. And finds a friend along the way to help become a P. I., which would be Paul.
This is egregiously incorrect. Earle Stanley Gardner was an attorney. He wrote 80 books & stories about Perry Mason and from the get go, Mason was a member of the Cali Bar Specializing in Criminal Defense. Private Investigators are not attorneys. They are licensed separately and are used by attorneys. It is an insult to portray a lawyer as a PI. A calumny and a degrading of Gardner’s brilliant character.
No. You need to actually watch it first before commenting. True, he starts as a PI, but then he take the CA bar and become a lawyer. C'mon, bro. Facts matter.
I was looking forward to this show until HBO decided to pull Gone With The Wind. The same movie where and African American Woman won an Academy Award in 1939.
@@KevinQualls Give it a go, I think the show might change your mind (think Batman Begins or any other "set-up"). However it is very mature so if you are looking for a realistic reboot this is not your scene.
