I was new to racing at the time, but I remember there being a big buzz around Ravens Pass before this race, and he didnt disappoint. Maybe its part nostalgia for me because at that time it was like discovering heroin, but what a year that was, what a 2/3yo crop, in England, France and Ireland. It was magic, and all the other divisions were great as well, older horses like Manduro, Dylan Thomas, Youmzain and Duke of Marmalade, you had Yeats and Geordieland in the stayers, some iconic sprinters around like Marchand Dor, Sakhees Secret, Dutch Art, Borderlescott, Equiano, Dandy Man. The jockeys were just different class as well, Moore, Murtagh, Dettori, Kinane, Fallon, Hughes, Smullen, Manning, Peslier, Soumillon, Pasquier, the journeymen around that time would be top jockeys today. There was just a richness to it all that utterly captivated me and I look at the game today and I feel practically nothing, I feel like I caught the tail end of the good old days, Sea The Stars was just around the corner then it peaked with Frankel, and like every other aspect of life, it just started going to the dogs rapidly after 2012.
O'Brien has more 2 year old colts . Fighter . Officer . Bernard Shaw Aftermath . Fighter looks exciting . He is very big powerful type 10 furlong race at the Curragh 💚
Guess the rights don't go back as far as 1984, when the most famous winner of the race (the Triple Crown heroine) Oh So Sharp won it with Lester aboard.
