- Holy. Crap. I can't tell you how excited I am for this game. First, thank you to the amazing Playtonic team for reviving the Rare platformer glory days and letting us walk amongst our dreams again. Second, thank you also to Grant Kirkhope and David Wise (two of my favorite video game composers ever) for adding their talents to this project and making it just what it needs to be.
This released song (an early version at this point for sure, including the title) by David Wise is so catchy to me, and I love the swing and the fitting use of the ukulele lol. I wanted to stay true to the current state of the song, so I didn't make any loops anywhere and simply made what we know exists of it right now :-P My arrangement isn't perfect though, I wasn't able to add in cymbal rings in most of the later files due to lack of space, and I couldn't get my guitar lead balanced at a proper volume, but oh well lol.
For those of you who haven't heard of Yooka-Laylee yet, it's a 3D platformer currently being developed by a multitude of ex-Rare veterans who have worked on games like Banjo-Kazooie and the Donkey Kong Country series, and it will be like the Rare platformers of old. I honestly thought that we, the internet, had put this particular kind of song covers to rest. But I'm glad to see it coming out of retirement for this track. Great job mate.

Super glad to hear people do this song! :) I was going to, but I decided against it because it was claimed to be unfinished, but I'm really glad this song got some love.
Rusty8984 I had the same train of thought initially, wanting to wait until the true final version was released, but I just said "What the hell" X-D I'd love to see you make the final version when it comes out dude! I'm expecting it to be completely different too, both because of further editing by David Wise and because of the real orchestra that will be playing it--I wouldn't doubt I might make the final version too eventually hahah.

Friedfischer Oh wow haha. Thank you! Yours is really cool as well :-) And I didn't know David Wise released a more complete version on his bandcamp, I would have made that one if I had known...lol. But my prediction is it will be changed even further still since the Kickstarter has been able to fund an orchestral score, so we'll probably be making a newer version of this song in the future! X-D

Ah, awesome stuff, I considered making this in the back of my mind but never got round to it, you did a great job! Shame that even with that many guitars added into the soundfont it just about didn't fit in the range of octaves covered though xD
Chrys Terious Thanks Chris! I know, there's such a range to that ukulele part lol. It's more of a shame that raising the pitches of the guitar sound makes it sound so very thin :-/

ElectricPopTart18 I actually hear more Diddy Kong Racing in it than DKC, especially where the flowers (steel drums in the original) take the melody.
