I was watching my son play this when it came out (about two years ago? So he was 16 or so and I 38 at the time) and I was angry the whole boss fight. I was grumbling like the old codgy bish I am. Then this FINALLY kicked in and I wigged out and was like "OMG THEY DIDN'T TOTALLY FUCK UP THIS FIGHT squeeeee KID THIS IS COOLER THAN YOU REALIZE (he hadn't played the first one)" And he just kept glancing at me saying "mom are you sure you're ok?"
'Nostalgia' is actually just straight up an attack in one of the more recent fights in FFXIV, funnily enough. The boss is just straight up weaponing their magically manifested feelings of nostalgia to blast you and it is great.
I swear, every time I hear this theme kick up, whoever played the bass drum in this song sounds like they were waiting for this moment for their entire lives.
I actually love that they saved the remake of the original Jenova tune until last phase, showing that phase 3 was the "real fight with Jenova" sorta thing :) got the adrenaline pumping and almost made the third part feel the easiest 😅 kinda how in Black Ops Zombies Kino Der Toten map, when you find the three meteor pieces and the song "115" by Elena Siegman comes on, I could be getting swarmed but as soon as that track starts, I feel like a Super Saiyan 😂
I swear it gave you as the player an energy and motivation that came out of no where like how in the movies when the epic music hits during the last part of the fight. It was perfect musical cinama
Imma be real, I love the old orchestration of the theme they had in the first two phases. J-E-N-O-V-A is said to possibly be older than the planet of Gaia itself, so it made perfect sense to have an old classical theme for the phases, especially extra points that they were genuinely so well written and transcribed into the fight But this? This part? Yea it outweighs the two others.
Back in the days, I loved the battle theme... I even created a ring tone later for my mobile. Now, years later, I played the Rebirth final boss fight and i nearly cried because the track is so well implemented. The whole sound design of FF7 Rebirth is just on point. Love every part of it (except the gameplay of Caith Sith, but okay)
@@crymoarlolx Lemme know. I don‘t like his gameplay but the Character itself is great in this one. This should have been just a NPC. But thats only me, I v‘e read, that he is very overpowered if you get used to him as a fighter. Have fun with the game 🙃
Mostly played pretty decently methodical throughout the entire game. Had some fun with Tifa and playing the game a bit like a fighter. Was going through phase 1 then 2. Then when 3 kicked in and this banger dropped I started inputing commands like it was orginal. Just jamming them in at light speed as the music took over. Nothing beats the original but this does a DAMN good job of being on it's heels.
Keep Atlas nerfed at 25.00% at dry dock until he shows natural intelligence. Wargames and tik, tak, toe until he doesn't react and complete priorities given.

This build-up of the strings and then the kicking in of the original Jenova theme gives me chills every freaking time... it's so awesome!

This is actually really cool interpretation. I love it! I never thought of it this way.
I love how the theme slowly builds up to this awesome nostalgia bomb. It matches well with the horror of everything going on at that moment.
I totally marked out at this phase of the fight.
This is the part of the game I wept tears of joy and was back in 1997 playing ff7 the way I imagined it in the future.

Eh no. Phase 1 and 2 were the best parts that took the main melody and made it so much more intimidating. But yes OG Jenova theme is cool too.
