Taught weightshift in 1994, none of my UK instructors went into this depth or imparted as much understanding as Larry does here. Each new flying season had to learn to relax and not fight the bar. Just shows that 27 years later I've still got things to learn, thanks for posting this, will try this lesson to see how easy it makes life in thermals
Thanks for posting this video Larry, I've been really struggling with strong thermals and hopefully after watching your video I'll do better next time without terrifying my instructor and putting the trike into a spiral dive with massive inputs!
Larry you are Awesome! Just saw some vids on the REV and it is Awesome too! I hope to be able to put in an order for one soon. You have brought weight shift control aviation to its highest level with your genius engineering. Your trikes are the best in the world!
Depends on the school and how quick you are. The minimum is 15 hours of dual. Most people take more than that to get solo. There are cheaper flight schools but here is our information evolutiontrikes.com/flight-school/
Larry, I really want to buy a Revo BumbleBee and learn how to fly it! Do you know of anyone in the Phoenix area I should contact? I live in Mesa AZ. I am currently a student pilot (Cessna 172), but I think the Revo would be much more fun! Thanks, Mike
+Pierre-Jean le Camus I have to say, that i tried that technique and it totally has change my flying experience! And i don't fly REVO yet ;) Actually i fly homebuild trike with homebuild wing, wich is 21 sq.m. You can imagine what that means in turbulent conditions. With Larry's advice i can control the wing much more easy and precise, without too much efforts. Here is one video, making turns with one hand drive.google.com/file/d/0BybG9W5pHzvyTWE4ZlY1dHM5Zms/view?usp=sharing
I also could improve my technique . Especially following 3 points helped me: 1. be aware to release your shoulders 2. realize a wider grip on the bar to build a triangle (bar/arms). Therefore I had to add an extra pad to my backrest to get a little more forward. 3. keep your elbows always bent and do not allow them to stuck straight (especially while landing). As most tips can be tested/trained safely by oneself within enough altitude, I `d like to thank Larry for sharing!
Hi Larry, as an old Trike Instructor myself it is very pleasing to listen to someone who knows what they're talking about!!! Keep up the good work

This is your technique to fly your specific trike. With a normal, which means a stable trike, your techniques are meaningless.

What a seriously rude comment, and totally misplaced.
