    Tutorial was very good very explanatory out of all the tutorials that I’ve watched in faking fake. No one has ever said how long it can stay in the container for. I always wondered about that you have great ideas. Great job watching you from Canada. 🇨🇦 and I love especially about the ice cream and how you can make it without buying form.

    If you place a piece of plastic cling over the spakle, then place the lid, it will stay softer l longer. You then can wrap the entire bowl with cling wrap to help. I do this with my Royal Icing for cake decorating.

    Great video Cindy!! Thank you!! Have you tried using a dark red or maroon or burgundy to get a darker red? It’s worth a try with the acrylic craft paint or even the artist grade acrylic paint. You would use much less and it would be more cost efficient. Just an idea. Thank you again! I love your videos!!

      I’ve tried several reds but the brightest comes from using Liquitex. I’ve had that one tube for more than a year. But I will try with an acrylic craft paint base then my liquitex. Thanks.

      @@peepthisyall it was just a suggestion as I do a lot of fine art work. And years ago I worked with helping people with color. Anytime you add color to white it will never give you a deeper color. So if you start off with a deeper, darker shade when adding to white it will give you a shade your trying to achieve with less paint. Which may help you from not having to add plaster to thicken your caulk. Adding plaster also lightens your color as it is white. I just thought I’d share this with you since you have been so generous with sharing all your talent with us. Thank you again Cindy!

    I have a question about squeezing the spackel out of the piping bags? I am having problems getting the spackel to come out of the bag. I mix the spackel to the consistency of what I think I need with the paint or water, then put in the piping bag. When I start squeezing the bag, nothing will come out of the tip or some of the liquid will seep out of the tip around the cut tip area. I try squeezing so tight that I think the bag is going to burst. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong?
    I’ve tried taking the spackel out of the bag and mix more liquid and then try again but I have the same thing happen. Please help!

    • @peepthisyall
      @peepthisyall  2 роки тому +2

      Are you using a tip or just a cut bag? If it is not coming out it needs more moisture. Once I get it to the right consistency I have no problem squeezing it out of the bag. Use a spray bottle like I do so you don’t over saturate. 😉

Usually they are small and I can cover them up for the base coat, but for the piping it is almost impossible. Please any advice would be wonderful. I have tried different things but I don't know what I am doing wrong or if this is normal.

    Can I use lightweight joint compound instead of lightweight spackling?

    • @peepthisyall
      @peepthisyall  2 роки тому +1

      You can try it but joint compound usually is a gray color and is much softer. You would need lots of color and filler to get the desired consistency in my opinion. 😉

      Spackle is too thin and you need support in the middle like a piece of foam ball

      No. But I was told by an artist not to use it as it will fade over time. 😉

    I have to askthis.... It drives my insane that so many people say "once you use any of these tools for faux food, make sure you never use it for real food again" Why? I understand if something is porous or leaves a residue... But if I use a Stainless steal tool that I can clean and even sterilize..I see no reason to banish it. I see no danger. Or even if for example I use a cookie sheet but line it before putting the faux or even real food on it and again wash it well each time, common sense tells me there is no danger. So why do people on every social media video make this statement with no explanation. (I assume people wash there tools for cooking especially. )

      I have young kids watching my tutorials not just adults. It’s just precautionary. If you want to use your household utensils that were used to mix plaster of paris, spackle or caulk in your kitchen you can. I don’t. 😉
