@@dorinmelnic6001 >>Colin McEvedy, British geographer and historian: "The Latin speaking Wallachians and Moldavians, inhabiting modern Rumania, are first mentioned at the beginning of the 14th century. Their later claim to be descendants of the Roman colonists planted there in the 2nd century AD., seems tendentious and improbable, for the Romans' withdrawal from [modern] Rumania ([in] 270) and the appearance of the Vlach states are separated by a millennium in which the country was the property of Slav and nomad and which is devoid of all evidence of Roman survival. Almost certainly the Vlachs came from the western Balkans."These words are aptly corroborated by the French historians Pierre George and Jean Tricart in their book: L’Europe Centrale: - Peuples de I’Europecentrale au XIe siicle).

As I noted in the chat during this premiere, I immediately saw the river view east of the Continental Hotel further down at my hotel in Dec 2022, the Hilton Oradea. I never had time to walk up north of the park next to the river toward Mushroom Hill. Great Oradea views on the Hill. I am not surprised to see the Planka Stairs and other narrow ways between structures and streets. I found those same unexpected pedestrian features when I walked (2+ hours) in Targu Mures in late December 2022 and saw these features as shortcuts when the elevation changed and you need not zig-zag via the streets the cars must use. This was particularly needed when descending below the university (UMFST) in Tg. Mures toward town center. Your Oradea tours are wonderful. Thank you.

@@walkandcamera Great, would really like to see that one. People on the campus of UMFST were extremely nice to help me with directions. I think Oradea, Timisoara, and Craiova - in that order, are the best walking cities. Brasov is good, of course, and Sighisoara is a great (as emphasized by my airline gate companion proudly from there. Her words to me were "You should skip Targu Mures; go to my home town instead.") Your Cluj-Napoca video gave me views of my night walk there on 20 Dec 2022 before I flew home. I also appreciate your sub-titles that give landmark historical color to the sites. Thus far, I have only seen Oradea, Cluj, and Tg. Mures. THANK YOU.

W&C - See my edited comment below that confirmed the singer at time 1:51:45. My Romanian world got smaller with this coincident random connection. Laura may have been sponsored by a different church group, based on the interview of her. Not sure. A good friend of mine at Oradea just days ago posted a photo on Facebook which he took of his young daughter with Ms. Bretan at this same time.

OK - at time mark 1:51:45 and on a bit on from there, you are at the Fortress Oradea Christian Music Concert. I believe you have finally taken a video of people I actually know. If the operatic -sounding female lead singer is Laura Bretan, then this seems to coincide with her recent visit this day. She was in Oradea mid-summer. I do not personally know Ms. Bretan (Romanian from NYC), but I do, if in fact true, know one of her local backing guitar players there this day along with others helping her on this "tour" from one of the larger local churches (BBSO). So, Wow - it may have finally happened that I see - though very fuzzy - some people I know on the stage & monitor. .... maybe? .(Edit) ->> YES ... FOUND .. See my link below on YT to Laura's interview just before the concert at the Oradea Fortress which you recorded at 1:51:45. Her voice was my clue. ua-cam.com/video/mOsYN2wbY8c/v-deo.html
