- A realistic cost to get your private pilots license in the USA in 2023 is $19,000 in a busy region - $16,000 for a non busy region. The forecast is for prices to continue to rise with inflation in the coming years.
Pre-pandemic 2019 cost was $16,000 in a busy region, $13,000 in a non-busy region.

I’ve looked into a similar school here in/near San Francisco but I think ATP is the only place with an accelerated program.

I would love to start a second career as a pilot and get out of my 15 year career as a high school science teacher. At 46, would it even be worth it considering I already make over 100k as a teacher?

What is the duration to complete PPL? Whats the cost of CPL? Will the hours acquired during PPL counted for CPL?
Why did you add another $1900 for solo? Isn't that included in the 55?

Grab a copy of the Pilots Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge. It’s free and downloadable online. Get a copy of the pilots operating handbook. You can find those free online. I would also do an online ground school to get the written test out of the way. We just launched ours at www.flightacademyonline.com
So would a less busy airport be quicker with it being less busy? I understand it won't be as realistic, but it would be quicker?
Yes, it would be quicker and less expensive. However, the disadvantage to this is if you need to operate out of that airspace, you will need additional training to feel comfortable. Due to this, and the fact that you might have to commute to an airport far away, people end up training at the more convenient airport.
So $21,00 is the total for the PPL , what about the total cost to get all 3 liscenses at OC Flight School for Commercial flying ? Definetly considering you guys .
