I really miss my KA. Some twunt hit it. But whilst it was 'somewhat' archaic, it was great to drive. . Not sure I'd have taken it up a "mountain" though....
I'm not gonna lie I had a 2007 focus and it survived a *Lot* and could handle way more than it should have. If I was gonna get a cheap shitter for some off-road thing like thing, I'd look for one of those. Bigger KA
I think it's great that when Scott first saw the KA, he was disappointed and now he's bonded with it. He doesn't want to scratch it on a rock. There's a real love there between a racing driver and a little red KA
I get so many old school Top Gear vibes from these guys. Even in the personalities, I can imagine Callum being the James May of the group, Scott is the mousey and nippy Richard Hammond, and Will is the grumpy prankster Clarkson
That MG stood no chance off road when it’s that low lol I remember having a lancer that was lowered by the previous owner and I was having to crab walk over speed bumps and drive ways. I actually beached the car once on a huge speed bump it was both extremely embarrassing and hilarious lol.
I love this so much, especially as an American who was raised in rural Oklahoma and is an off-road enthusiast. The road never looked any worse than roads I drove on daily, lol. That's not to say people didn't have issues with cars on these roads - exactly like y'all did - but that's why I was a truck owner, lol.
You'd be surprised what you can do with a scissor jack, which is probably in the boot. Jack up to full height and then push it off the jack in the direction you want to go forwards or backwards. Used this many times with a TG Gemini in outback Australia.
While watching your videos on the channel: you are definitely like Top Gear. Maybe they had some better cars and better cameras but you guys just having fun and making fun of each other gives me Top Gear vibes.
I'm almost 3½ minutes in and laughing to bust a gut! When she was about 75 my mother, with my father as passenger, thought it GREAT fun to join the local off road club on St. Joseph Island, Ontario and drive the Right of Way for an unbuilt road to keep the right if way open. With ZERO prep, on street tires, i can only imagine the faces when these serious off road people saw a 75 year old grey haired woman get out from behind the wheel if a 15 year old, rear wheel drive Volvo 240 estate, look at the trail and yell "Hot damn, that looks like fun!!" It should be noted that the Volvo, automatic transmission and all had to yank a Jeep out of the mud. Arthur started the drive clean as a whistle, Ice Blue paint shining. At the end if the run, Ma had used a gallon of washer fluid and the car was, um, BROWN! It took me three washes to get it clean after the 450 mile drive home from that vacation. That was not the most difficult run that car has done. At 33 years and 391,000 miles i am prepping it for a 7,000 mile drive to visit my brother.
I still have this same Astra model, but left handed, not convertible and made by Chevrolet (Brazil, 2002). Even if it's a caged beast for asphalt driving, is not the best specimen for dirt driving (a baseline Fiat Uno would easily ace this trail with no mods). Nice video. Your channel is becoming what Top Gear ceased to be. Cheers!
Brilliant. Not having 6 support vehicles makes for much better entertainment although clearly more stressful you guys. Many thanks for putting yourselves through it!
Discussing how the tow rope is rock solid while the astra just says "420 Anusol" in the background i mean people say you're like the new top gear but I think you've topped early top gear ngl
This kind of off road driving is what i love. I take my mx5 on roads like this regularly, and it’s bloody fun The ka was hilarious, but surprisingly effective
I live in Kyrgyzstan where I frequently go off-roading to the most remote lakes, galciers, and passes up to 4000 meters. Watching you guys try to navigate this with cuty cars was super fun!
Just as every off-road/truck enthusiast should immerse themselves in what makes sports and racing cars so impressive, this video proves the reverse is true ;)
I bought my wife a KA identical to this (red, 08 reg) as a cheap stop gap car around 2013 for £1800 with less than 20k on the clock. It felt like a bargain then, but the idea of paying £1800 for a 5 year old car now is mind blowing! I maintain that it was absolutely the best cheap car imaginable. Cheap to buy, cheap to run, almost nothing to go wrong and put a smile on your face to drive. I couldn't find anyone to agree with my verdict on it at the time so these videos are a nice bit of vindication many years later :)
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The KA is a brilliant vehicle. People just don't appreciate it because it's tiny and rusts away to nothing. I miss my little KA.
Having taken my van many places you would never think it would go, I really felt for you guys! Currently en-route in it from the Sahara to the Arctic. It's amazing what you can do with a completely standard vehicle :)
Really glad to see you went South to North like the voluntary restraint suggests. The last thing we need is the very few greenlanes we have left getting closed from misuse!
I think offroad challenges are the best and the rally was brilliant and you should lift them all up (you can do with spacers only to keep it cheap) and do it again. Or go safari all the way. I also love the MORR vibe you gave it with the music. Keep it up youre going in the right way!!!
Brilliant original idea. Three guys spending peanuts on modifying ordinary cars in an attempt to meet a motoring challenge. I cant think where ive seen this format before?🤔 Perhapse they should try to pitch it to the BBC?😂
The funny thing is that amaricans buy ford f150 in bulk to be able to drive of road if needed and look Manley and these guys do it in the cheapest snap cars the world has ever seen
2:10 love the sticker :D "Honk if anything falls off." Vauxhall / Opel Astra is such a great car, I had one and it was great even in some terrain. :) but not if you lower the suspenssion :D and mine had bad exhaust as well, it rotted away and sounded like a dirt bike.
That might have been a headache but boy was it entertaining. Great stuff and who would have thought that little KA would have been anything but last when they all turned up weeks ago? Next up wil be the cargo and towing challenges where the KA will somehow pull a 747 while the MG will get crashed out and the Astra will struggle to hold a packet of wine gums. :)
On a trail like that, the only mod that would really matter is ride height, but it wouldn't have been much of a challenge then (if ride height was possible even as a dodgy mod for the budget).
The KA was meant to be a joke. It turned out to be the best at every single challenge they threw at it!
is that why they're calling it like it's an acronym?
I really miss my KA. Some twunt hit it. But whilst it was 'somewhat' archaic, it was great to drive.
.
Not sure I'd have taken it up a "mountain" though....
You can say it is the hottest hatch in the series
I learnt myself to drive in a ka offroad used to get up some banks 🤣🤣
I'm not gonna lie I had a 2007 focus and it survived a *Lot* and could handle way more than it should have. If I was gonna get a cheap shitter for some off-road thing like thing, I'd look for one of those. Bigger KA
I want to see a fully lifted off road KA now. I think that should be it's reward.
I wanna buy a KA as my first car now honestly 😂
@@The_VanTM go for it, its ulez
I think the KA deserves to be promoted to full blown project car.
@@The_VanTM I litterally just have 😂
Turbo the KA
I think it's great that when Scott first saw the KA, he was disappointed and now he's bonded with it. He doesn't want to scratch it on a rock. There's a real love there between a racing driver and a little red KA
Its nice to see Callum getting OFF a ditch for the first time! 😂🤣😂
As opposed to Scott getting off in a Super Kart.
Saw the astra on a trailer yesterday heading towards the M40 at Barton. Noticed the snorkle and wondered what that was about
Three guys who trust each other, work together and have a modicum of mechanical sympathy. Brilliant 🌞
The content is so wild I wouldnt be surprised if you eventually try to use cars to swim across the ocean
More Top Gear References eh?
There's no way you're a real person, this has to be some AI experiment, you're everywhere.
@@galaxlordcz3933 you see him everywhere too?
Justin Y is better anyway
That was a hilarious waste of time lmao
These guys are the new Top Gear and I Love it!!
FR
Took the words right out my mouth! Definitely nailed the fun side of it
fr, it is basically a lower budget version of top gear
for sure
A way better version of UK Top Gear for sure. This is much more like the US Top Gear.
8:52 - the "Honk if anything falls off" sticker is perfect
also, great teamwork all around. this was an awesome episode.
This is my go to channel for watching chaps just having fun. Genuine smile fest watching these videos!
I love how the music is the same as Matts Offroad Recovery has used a lot. It seems really fitting because it looks like you needed a lot of rescuing!
Oh man, Matt in these cars vs. the fellas in Matt's Truck... What an idea.
My thoughts exactly :D
The "Honk if anything is falling off" sticker is just fitting for this episode
I get so many old school Top Gear vibes from these guys. Even in the personalities, I can imagine Callum being the James May of the group, Scott is the mousey and nippy Richard Hammond, and Will is the grumpy prankster Clarkson
That MG stood no chance off road when it’s that low lol I remember having a lancer that was lowered by the previous owner and I was having to crab walk over speed bumps and drive ways. I actually beached the car once on a huge speed bump it was both extremely embarrassing and hilarious lol.
I owned this, it has zero fluid in it. Sat on the bump stops. It would do soooooo much better in everything they’ve put it through with a £30 top up
I love this so much, especially as an American who was raised in rural Oklahoma and is an off-road enthusiast. The road never looked any worse than roads I drove on daily, lol.
That's not to say people didn't have issues with cars on these roads - exactly like y'all did - but that's why I was a truck owner, lol.
I would love if you guys did an hour long special of all three of you across europe or some place.
That's the least normal "normal car" I've ever seen
I remember that KA was supposed to be punishment for Scott but it turns to be the best car they bought
You'd be surprised what you can do with a scissor jack, which is probably in the boot. Jack up to full height and then push it off the jack in the direction you want to go forwards or backwards. Used this many times with a TG Gemini in outback Australia.
Don't care if you guys got stuck, this was a great watch! more of this please
That Ka is an icon! Absolutely legendary!
I think, by now, the KA is an iconic car for Overdrive. From joke car to top dog. Well done.
And in this video, it had some Mad Max vibes. :D
While watching your videos on the channel: you are definitely like Top Gear. Maybe they had some better cars and better cameras but you guys just having fun and making fun of each other gives me Top Gear vibes.
Awesome idea. Now you gotta lift those cars and try again :D The Ka is a beast!
"And my Ka is absolutely amazing." Now there's a sentence that nobody has ever spoken before.
That ka has actually been a beast in almost every challenge 🤣
why the hell does the ka look so damn good
it has no business being as legitimately cool as it is. making me want one over here. 😅
You hade the best content about cars since the Old top gear

Who would’ve guessed that the once-ridiculed Ka would turn out to be an absolute champion. Keep up the great content, boys.

I seriously love you series and all your vids, binged watched them like 10 times, keep them coming up love you all so much
Thumbnail game ON POINT! Looks like an epic screenshot from a game, outlandish modded cars with saturated colour. Love it
Discussing how the tow rope is rock solid while the astra just says "420 Anusol" in the background i mean people say you're like the new top gear but I think you've topped early top gear ngl
This kind of off road driving is what i love. I take my mx5 on roads like this regularly, and it’s bloody fun
The ka was hilarious, but surprisingly effective
The whole time I’m thinking how easy this would be with more than 3 inches of clearance. Such a great video as always
I live in Kyrgyzstan where I frequently go off-roading to the most remote lakes, galciers, and passes up to 4000 meters. Watching you guys try to navigate this with cuty cars was super fun!
What vehicle do you use for off-roading?
The Ka is an awesome little car !
Great handling and gearbox 👍
Just as every off-road/truck enthusiast should immerse themselves in what makes sports and racing cars so impressive, this video proves the reverse is true ;)
I love the way this challenge turned into a full on escape mission🤣Keep up the great content!
those bikers were awesome for stopping by and helping out
That KA is awesome, i love it so much.
Love these "top gear" styled videos. Wish they were longer though!
Haha love that KA. I've done some stupid stuff offroad in a Corsa so I can relate to that.
Failure has the highest entertainment value. Awesome!!!
double tyres is the most brilliant idea!!!
That KA is a true trooper! was never a fan but by god they really are little reliable joys of fun. Good job lads!
Offroading is always so much fun. Hope to see more off-the-beaten-path content!
Absolutely love ur content. Keep it up lads
😂😂😂 I seriously NEEEEEED more of this stuff! You guys not only make me laugh, but get me nostalgic about how fun cars can be.

The KA is a work of art😂
That "Honk if anything falls off" sticker was very accurate for the Astra in this video lol
If Scott had mounted LARGER diameter tires as the outboard tires he could have improves his ground clearance by a fair bit...
i can't believe all three of them missed the free "welded diff" mod
Having taken my van many places you would never think it would go, I really felt for you guys! Currently en-route in it from the Sahara to the Arctic. It's amazing what you can do with a completely standard vehicle :)
Are Sahara and Arctic two casinos in Las Vegas? 😉😛
@@bertram-raven If I drove to the US from here it would be a hell of a lot more impressive! :)
North Wales mentioned???? Instantly liked from a North Walian, love seeing my home area represented on UA-cam.
Really glad to see you went South to North like the voluntary restraint suggests. The last thing we need is the very few greenlanes we have left getting closed from misuse!
Foxsey, do you know which trial this is?
It's the green lane between Dolwyddelan and Capel Curig,
The trail gets turns into a loose rocky descent towards the end

In my country, every drive is off roading
Brilliant video really great to watch!! 👌🏼
Callum proved how much a good set of tires means for performance previously and then didn’t get proper tires for off-roading!
i'm surprised thats considered a grade 5 over there, looks like a grade 2 on the charts we use here, but stuff does get wacky when you get to five.
I love how Callum is like a hypochondriac for Will's car 😂
Great content lads as per
You guys are the spiritual reincarnation of the OG top gear and I'm here for it
my want for a ka goes up every video
Probably the best video you guys made!
Best episode yet! I'm loving what yall are doing.
Love your top gear style videos.

The Ka was the best because it has absolutely zero sporting pretence 😂 I would have loved to be a fly on the wall in the debrief for this one!
i've done that route on a mountain bike and I had a hard time on a bike. its incredible you guys managed to get some of the cars that far along it.
I'm from the French-speaking part of Belgium, and hearing 'Ka' pronounced as each letter separately for the first time sounds so weird to me.
That Ka is by far the best looking Ka I've ever seen! And an absolute off-road beast 🤩
We really need to see more of the amazing KA!!! Rig a little lift kit and hit this trail with it again.
Thank you Overdrive for giving me my Top Gear fix!
Why has the MG got track semi slicks ??
Awesome video, boys! Love this one! Love 'em all!
The KA is based on the Fiat Panda..... which was a fantastic car. And there was a 4x4 version!!
Despite it all going a bit wrong this is one of the most entertaining videos on the channel. You 3 have a great dynamic.
This was probably one of the best videos you guys ever put out!
Off Road equipment, buy a Lightbar. 🤣🤣
Guys, be careful with the Traction Aid. Those things can fly so fast and hard, in your face...

Where that ford ka will go next? Everest? Space? Would pay money to see that🤣🤣
Ngl the Ka looks like its about to pounce on you HARD.
Epic episode keep it up guys!
First time a youtube video undersold itself, top content lads.
We need to see another 250 pounds put in those cars and another go on that trail!
At least you weren't lying when you said it was impossible.
