I love Tig and the awkward tension she brings to her act and every interview. I hope she does another special soon, she's one of my favorite comics nowadays.
The two of them together on screen: adorable! I love when Stephen lets an interview get a little bit askew, but this was magic. I could watch the two of them talk for hours.
I had never heard of Tig and I was actually going to say something like 'She's a laugh a minute' but then I thought, hold it - YOU (that is me) know nothing about this woman and so I made it my business to watch every single gig on YT I could find - and NOW I know that she is totally AWESOME, delightful and that her awkwardness is just SO spot-on. THANK YOU Stephen Colbert, for introducing her to me! (Lesson, once again: Never judge a book by its cover or a person by the ONE snippet of their life you happen to witness)
I love Tig, I watched her documentary about her journey with grief, cancer, and her troubles conceiving when it first came out and I still think about it all the time. She's so true to herself and I love that about her
5:24 -- Stephen: "We have a clip here. It's you, you're in the sickbay. Do you want to set this up in any way ?" Tig: "Yeah, sure. I'm in the sickbay."
@carli maxI know about trains. I used to make training videos for British Rail! However, in the case of Rainicom's comment I think it should have said "train interview", just to make it clear to people who don't know. For example in the UK, where I live, train cars are called carriages. \p
My kids do this too but to their dad lol and they are pre teens. Husband walks in first. Little brother shouts, "Mooooommm's home". Bigger brother sounds disappointed, "It's just dad". Little brother asked dad, "When will mom be home" I walk in. Both boys push pass dad and simultaneously shout, "Mom! Mom! Mom! I have something to tell you".
I immediately went to fantasy mode wondering what I would say if it were just me and Stephen alone on that train car. So many things I'd ask him ... I'm an introvert so I wouldn't badger, though.
I feel ya. So many things I'd WANT to say, but I would probably end up letting my neurotic ways get the best of me, and end up saying something like "have a nice d-one. Um. Day. A nice one. Have it."
Adrienne Boullianne Good assessment. I think it has to be your personality to make it work. [Also, thank you for using the word aplomb-it really doesn’t get trotted out often enough.]
Steven is right: I was a preschool classroom assistant and the 3s and 4s are ROUGH. I had worked with Jr/Sr high and thought I was ready for anything. I totally appreciate teens, now
I read this in a Scottish accent. I'm blaming Outlander. I see a lot of similar phrases in my future. My daughter is 1.5yo and has started the "I do it myself!" attitude already.
@StephenColbert : Am a big fan of your show. This is must be one of my top 3 interviews you have done so far. LOL, literally, throughout the interview. Now I'm on a search for everything "Colbert & Notaro". 😊 (Yes, life is weird. Coincidental seat arrangements? Life is unexplainable. Just enjoy it. 😊 )
She needs to be made Discovery's Chief Engineer (whom we've not yet seen). Just replace whoever that is, with her. Her behavior and sense of humor on the show, is a bit like Bones was back in TOS.
Did you catch how Colbert said, "Whatever your name is" at the end? It must mean her nonsense name is secretly an anagram! But what is her true name? "Oration GT"? "Tong Ratio"? "Nitro Goat"? Until we hear the story of how she and Colbert "Go To Train" together, we may never know...
I love Tig and the awkward tension she brings to her act and every interview. I hope she does another special soon, she's one of my favorite comics nowadays.
I could watch Tig talk about nothing for endless hours.
Cheyenne Guliker same
Cheyenne Guliker me too!
she has a podcast
The two of them together on screen: adorable! I love when Stephen lets an interview get a little bit askew, but this was magic. I could watch the two of them talk for hours.
"It's just her." So freaking funny. Clearly Tig's sons are following in her clever footsteps . 👣👣
It's just so savage.
It’s probably from that time they met Conan and Andy
Tig is my all time favorite talk show guest. I love every appearance she does.
I enjoy the awkwardness in their interviews, and they seems to enjoy it
Similar levels of nerd, I suppose XD
Deep down, I think it’s his favorite thing. Tig Notaro and Maria Bamford seem to be comedians he gets genuinely excited to interview.
@@ainumahtar Nerdiness - maybe, but after that interview I wouldn't guess she's an actress.
I kinda sense that awkwardness in anyone he interviews on that show. Too bad since I loved the Colbert Report and I think he's funny as hell.
They spent almost 3 hours alone on a train; no awkwardness.
That is Tig and Steven gets it.
I love tig she is just so funny and sweet
Tig seems like such a genuine, kind-hearted person. She makes me smile every time I see her :)
@W Yes, she has. And so funny while going through all of that. I love that doc!
I discovered her on the Ellen show and also searched all her videos 💜
Her cat video interview with Conan is one of my favorite videos ever
Plus the one on Conan where she redoes the Goldilocks story

😁
I love her! Her style of humor just kills me! Glad she’s healthy! She looks great!
I love her vibe. It's hilarious.
They kissed their own hands 😂😂
Tig always does that
I’m guessing she does that so it’s still a nice gesture but she doesn’t spread germs or potentially get her slobber on someone else
Markayla Carson she did it with Ellen too actually
Kissing your own hand in a handshake shows respect; kissing the other person's hand shows love.
@@Taricus thanks for explaining 😊
I love Tig, I watched her documentary about her journey with grief, cancer, and her troubles conceiving when it first came out and I still think about it all the time. She's so true to herself and I love that about her
imagine tig and aubrey plaza in the same place. i could watch them talking for hours lol
Renata Gonçalves I totally had the same thought!!! It would be amazing 😎
but aubrey has like a darker humor and awkwardness than tig
5:24 -- Stephen: "We have a clip here. It's you, you're in the sickbay. Do you want to set this up in any way ?"
Tig: "Yeah, sure. I'm in the sickbay."
tubularap
So good!
She makes me laugh so hard and it’s like she’s not even trying!
Love these two! I would watch that 2 hour car interview
Train!
@carli maxI know about trains. I used to make training videos for British Rail! However, in the case of Rainicom's comment I think it should have said "train interview", just to make it clear to people who don't know. For example in the UK, where I live, train cars are called carriages. \p
@carli max They don't have a hangar car for aircraft
Dry, Dryer, Tig Notaro! She cool. Good delivery, tough smart person
The season is almost over and she has been in two episodes of Discovery, which is a shame because she has been great in the few scenes she's had.
Yeah but Discovery is determined to not be good, so they will probably continue to underuse one of their better actors/characters
It’s the anapologetic nerdiness & refusal to dramatize anything that gets me. Love Tig.
Please someone cast her as Tom Cruise's sister.
Damn. She actually does look like him
Oh..i thought it was a he...wtf
I don't see the resemblance at all. ok, brown short hair. that's it. then, I look like tc also.
Excellent point
I...would actually watch the hell out of that.
Man, Tig Notaro is the best. I love her easygoing nature. Can she be on every week?
yeah I also thought Stephen was asking if she got rid of one child 😂
6:37
"Tig Nokaro, everybody.
Whatever your name is."
lmao
he was pissed lol
Tig exudes this beautiful warm yet awkward energy and I enjoy it so much.
I just love her dry sense of humor! And the way she works so well with "awkward conversations" is the best humor ever!
Tig's humor is so dry; glad Steven gets that and obviously enjoys it.
I can’t describe how much I love Tig
Her and Mulaney should swap briefcase kid stories.
And Kimmel
@Pat McCann trust me nobody noticed the misuse of the word HER. 😂😂
So did I.
@@KarisPigNose you're all lame
@@incrediblesimilarity5858 I did too.
What I wouldn't give to sit next to Stephen Colbert on a train ride....😍❤️
I could imagine what i would get... Restraining order, i would probably get restraining order afterwards 😅
Tig is just delightful.
My kids do this too but to their dad lol and they are pre teens.
Husband walks in first. Little brother shouts, "Mooooommm's home". Bigger brother sounds disappointed, "It's just dad". Little brother asked dad, "When will mom be home"
I walk in. Both boys push pass dad and simultaneously shout, "Mom! Mom! Mom! I have something to tell you".
Even her stand up is awkward and it's so funny
Found her via Star trek discovery and i hope they give her a much bigger role, she's easily the best thing about the show.
I love her every time she is on.
I laughed louder than I have laughed all month. So crazy deadpan funny!
Hearing “We’ll be right back with Tig Notaro” in the last clip was the most welcome surprise!
"Oh my god. This _whole car_ is _empty._ Must you sit _right there?"_
He's Stephen Colbert. He likes people. 🤷
It was strategic I'm sure. He knew they'd talk about it in a future interview!
Um. Day. A nice one. Have it."
her kind of comedy is very difficult to pull off, and she does it with aplomb. she's funny as hell...
Adrienne Boullianne
Good assessment. I think it has to be your personality to make it work. [Also, thank you for using the word aplomb-it really doesn’t get trotted out often enough.]
@@maryrosekent8223 haha...my pleasure! i love that word!
I could watch it over and over. I hope Tig gets more screen time in ST Discovery!
I love Tig 😍
I love her humour and her style of story telling.
What a great retelling of My Dinner With André! I would watch the heck out of the movie Stephen and Tig on the Train.
2:54 Why did Stephen say "stronger" like Emperor Palpatine? Apparently parenting a three-year-old leads one to the dark side.
They are evil, adorable creatures!
She is soooo funny! 🤣
I absolutely adore Tig.
Gotta love Tig :)
Steven is right: I was a preschool classroom assistant and the 3s and 4s are ROUGH. I had worked with Jr/Sr high and thought I was ready for anything. I totally appreciate teens, now
"It's just her." I'm gonna scream-laugh oh my god
See Tig's act with a chair on stage; she moves it, making noise, & deadpan-delivery comments.
I love Tig so much! John Mulaney just talked about how he carried a briefcase as a kid, too. Aw, those eccentrics!
I love their rapport, they seem like genuine friends
My twins are wee ingrates, as well. LOL My favourite thing to say to them, whilst they're misbehaving is "I FEED you, dammit!!"
I read this in a Scottish accent. I'm blaming Outlander. I see a lot of similar phrases in my future. My daughter is 1.5yo and has started the "I do it myself!" attitude already.
Tig Notaro is awesome!
I have never previously wanted to watch Star Trek, and now I must watch it as soon as possible because ofTig.
TIG WAS PROFESSOR BLASTOFF THIS WHOLE TIME!
I miss Professor Blastoff :(
Me too!
lmao oh its just her
Wow, She's making it. I enjoy that.
My mother used to say about children, “When they’re little, they’re little problems; when they’re big, they’re . . .!!! 😘
Twos are able to talk now and truly express what they have been mute on. Not terrible just expression.
Aw I Love Tig
@StephenColbert : Am a big fan of your show. This is must be one of my top 3 interviews you have done so far. LOL, literally, throughout the interview. Now I'm on a search for everything "Colbert & Notaro". 😊
(Yes, life is weird. Coincidental seat arrangements? Life is unexplainable. Just enjoy it. 😊 )
"I kept them." ahahahahahahahaha BRILLIANT!
I love tig Notaro so much
Tig is one of the most interesting people in America. There's just a weirdness about her that is so appealing.
The greatest story ever told 😌
The clip from Discovery they showed is one of the best ever
Tig was born to be the female "Bones". Hope they do more stories around her.
The female Tom Cruise.... the resemblance is uncanny...
Damn... now I can't unsee it 😂
Tonya Monroe
You see it, too, huh?
I love her hair so much
It’s the terrific twos!
Both of them are pals. Love❤
lovely interview.
I love Tig so much.
❤ Tig. So happy she is on DISCO
I love how trendy Tig is by “not being trendy”! Hahahaha... love her
Tig took Stephen’s hand and then kissed her own. Too good.
She is so fantastic
Loved her and her awkward style since the Sarah Silverman program!
Awwww, hand kisses 😍😍😍
She kicked ass in Star Trek
Tig Notaro AND "Dana Carvey's Sister"
i love Tig so much!!! seriously so funny!
I love her
I wanted more!!! I
Love❤️love❤️love❤️... she is amazing
I met someone famous in an almost empty train car, I would think I was dreaming.
Yay,Tig!!!!!!!!
She's so good on Discovery
what a sweetheart lol
Don't know about episode 11, but as of episode 10, she only appeared in two scenes, which is a shame, because I'd really like to see Commander Reno.
She needs to be made Discovery's Chief Engineer (whom we've not yet seen). Just replace whoever that is, with her. Her behavior and sense of humor on the show, is a bit like Bones was back in TOS.
Tig Notaro is a treasure.
Hilarious... A laugh riot 😑 SO BRAVE, SO STUNNING!!
3 years old is way worse then 2 years old! You're totally right!
She is an excellent Star Trek engineer!
My pediatrician told me that two year olds get a bad rap, it should be called the terrible threes. He was spot on.
Tig is the best comedian that America accidentally noticed.
OMG I wasnt the only one who carried a brief case in elementary school! Totally Nerding ouT!
"It's just her..." LOLOLOLOL!!!!!
Lovely people, This is why I love going by trains :) serendipity is happening most of the time :)
