Always fly Singapore Airlines from Melbourne through to London return, Japan return, and very recently Los Angeles return all business class. There has never been a time that the fight, cabin crew, meals etc were anything but excellent, in fact always been beyond my expectations, hopefully I will continue flying with this exceptional airline
my first video of yours I've seen, not bad, welcome to the world of flight reviewers lol. Big thank you for filming the take-off complete, not speeded up (which every other flight reviewer does- it annoys me as I love the feeling of hurtling down the runway, it's one of the 'highs' of flying for me) - however, you may have to rethink the policy of aisle seats! Consider using a Go-Pro and watch out for the autofocus. Singapore are a fantastic airline but indeed, many of the Asian carriers have excellent cabin crew and good food on board. Pls make your preference known well ahead of time. I hope your readers read this and be prepared especially when the flight time stretches beyond 5 hours* *In most cases the crew would have to SACRIFICE their veg portion from the crew meal for this type of Take It For Granted passengers. Remember, it is not only you and that there are many other South Asian passengers that fall into this category. Sadly, the crew end up eating leftovers* *Please Do take note*

Singapore Airlines has been my favorite airline since my first flight with them back in 1992. I've taken about 25 flights with them since then, all on widebodies (742, 743, 744, 772, 773, 78X, A310, A350, A380) but not yet the 737-800s or Max (former SilkAir). You are absolutely right about the flight crew, they are almost always exceptional and quite friendly than most other carriers. They always are ahead when it come to the hard product, but the soft product absolutely differentiates them from anyone else. I do envy those who live in or are based in Singapore, they are usually spoiled with the best choices when it comes to flying.
Thats amazing you've had the chance to fly all the wide bodies, don't think I mentioned it in the video, this flight I was on was the 777, would love to try their 350s and 380s (if they're still in operation) eventually. Also, yes, definitely people not only in Singapore, but in the general South East Asia region have some great choices, and incredible customer service.
@@nsuresh91 yes they're already flying the A380s in addition to the A350s. Very smooth takeoff experience, you can hardly hear the loud whirring of the engines. I would describe takeoff on the A380 like "floating" - very different from a 747 or 777 where you are somehow "pushed back" into your seat
Great video.. if you forget to order your special meal most likely what you got was a possible spare supply of Indian meals platted for you from a pouch which was reheated. No airline can cook you special meals in the sky 😊
Yes, most likely, but the fact that they actually cared enough to make an effort to do that was what I wanted to highlight; crews on some airlines I've travelled just tell you they don't have it, without even checking. Thanks for watching :)

In most cases, there are many and that is when the crew cannot accomodate SQ tickets are expensive and many cannot afford to fly SQ like you so the reason why they were able to accommodate your last minute request

@@pvasir ANA was my alternative option for this, would love to try them in the future as well. Hearing great things about asian carriers in general, especially Japanese, would love to have a first hand experience to see if it lives up to the hype.
We have used Singapore AL economy LHR to AKL via SIN and subsequent return in 2013. We would normally have used Air New Zealand for tat trip however a late booking for my trip meant that seats with Air NZ were not available for the days that we needed to travel. During the LHR to SIN sector our section of the cabin had a fault with the IFE so no IFE available, at SIN there was an apology and a "gift" of a fold up suit case. The rest of the flight sectors SIN to AKL and the return AKL-SIN-LHR flights were event free. We found the onboard service on all sectors to be very good and the food very good. For our next trip in January 2023 we'll be using Singapore AL again, this is because Air NZ no longer fly to LHR. This time we've booked Premium Economy and it will be interesting to see how much better it is than Economy. Our pockets didn't quite run to business class this time.

I will only fly Singapore airlines if going east from Australia. My main reason is their safety record is second to none. Safety is everything to me & will always pay more. With respect It is common practice to book ahead with your meals if your vegetarian.
Right on, yeah they just seem to be a preference for so many people. Yes, I'm aware that its better to book ahead to ensure veg meals are stocked, for this flight I thought I'd go onboard and see their options (which, to be honest, inadvertently worked out great for the video as it really highlighted their service).
We live in the UK. About 2 to 3 times a year we visit my home country, Australia. We have been travelling back and forth for the past 18 years and have used many airlines. We generally travel economy however have travelled business class on the odd occasion. In my opinion Singapore Airlines is without a doubt the best airline out there. As you say it is the crew that make the journey. Singapore Airlines crews are consistent and always welcoming and friendly. Now we only use Singapore Airlines. It is worth paying extra. You know what you are going to get.

For decades my wife and I have used Singapore Airlines. As you said, the crews are warm, polite, and are a joy to the experience. However, this last trip was a disaster, before we boarded. We purchased tickets. The next day, we received a text message saying the last leg of our return trip was cancelled. It was up to us to reschedule. No live communications. In fact, we tried and tried but could find no phone numbers to call when their emails said only for us to contact our non-existent "local" office. After two weeks of getting nowhere, one number I tried earlier but failed to find any live person, this time we did get one. He and I agreed to just cancel the whole trip and start over. Rescheduling a day earlier or later, different times - none available. We then agreed to get our refunds. We were told 6 weeks, but were surprised to get it only a week later. Too late. We went with another airline - one that has live communication with live persons. In the future, I will never book with an airline that does not offer live help.
Ahh, sorry to hear about your bad experience. One thing I left out in the review was an interaction I had with customer service-- although it was prompt and they were there when I called them, the information they gave me was wrong. But it all worked out in the end. Thanks for watching! :)
So sorry to hear that. I thought everyone would think that Singapore airlines had very good service for anything. I had some experience with it. In 2020, my husband bought the Singapore airlines tickets from Singapore to jakarta, but unfortunately that time covid just started. Then he went to sg airlines office in Singapore, and he got some solutions, whether refund or reschedule. So he chose to reschedule but he asked the cs to hold it, then after 2 years he only can go to jakarta. And luckily he can get the flight. They didn't even charge. Another experience in 2017 my husband went to Bangladesh, but he was late, and then he talked to the cs sg airlines, and they helped my husband to get another flight without any extra fee, he just waited for another flight. That's why we always use this airline because for us it's flexible and helpful
Singapore has it down pat. After joining their frequent flyer programme in 2006 never looked back. I fly mostly in economy but use loyality points to fly in the premium cabins once in a while. I agree good service all round. The point you made at the end of your video about 80% being service related is so true. Service is what counts and will bring in repeat business. If you are flexible enough time wise Singapore Air has plenty of sales so I must say their fares can be at par or if not cheaper than competitors. Loved your review. Will be flying Singapore next month again out of the Philippines. Chasing Star Alliance Gold.

Is anyone can recommend a place were to stay singapore airport for one night. Were arriving 11. Pm and departing the fallowing day for los angeles at 8.45 pm . I prepare to stay at the airport so we can see the attraction at the airport.
To be honest, I had lounge access, but the lounge was SUPER packed, apart from food benefits, it wasn’t worth it. So I wouldn’t recommend paying for a lounge. There are are many airport hotels- also if I remember correctly, you can even go into Singapore for upto 72 hours, as long as you can show them a forward ticket; if I arrived during daytime, I would have loved to do this.
Hey! that's a great question, and one that I don't have an answer to unfortunately. To be honest, I didn't even know seatbelt extenders were a thing till just now; but that's something I'll definitely keep an eye out for this moving forward. However, as for your question, I did a quick search online and it seems that SIA does provide seatbelt extenders onboard, although I would definitely check with them to make confirm availability on the specific flights you're taking! Born in Delhi, spent 4 years there, lived 3 years in Bangalore, and 7 in the US. My upbringing is partially South Indian, primary language is Tamil, but been brought up in American schools, so culturally a blend. I don't identify as Tamil or American though. My wife and I took Singapore Airlines business class from Singapore to Sydney for our 30th anniversary trip. We splurged on business class because we had always read about how great Singapore Airlines was. I booked the cook for their lobster dinner. The plane departed late at night but my wife and I delayed eating so we could enjoy the meal. The flight attendant was actually annoyed that we did not want to go to sleep right away. I had my cold lobster meal about 30 minutes later. They had suggested I have it for breakfast. I guess they just did not want to be bothered. I expect this type of treatment from American and European carriers. Needless to say we will never pay a premium again for Singapore Airlines. If it is convenient and the price competitive we will will take it. But our expectations are now low. Japanese, Taiwan and Korean companies offer a superior product
Oh wow, sorry to hear about your experience with SIA. To be honest, this is one of the reasons I'll be focusing on economy class videos on this channel, mainly because I feel like value proposition of premium cabins has gone down in the last few years. There's a lot more companies offering economy class products that are worth the asking price than ones offering business class products that are worth the asking price (unless its booked on a really good promo). Yes sir i agree with you for singapore airlines. Only there connecting flight is with scoot airline. Which i feel bad when it comes to food. I arrived singapore at 11 pm. Ang my connecting flight to cebu philippines the fallowing day at 9 good morning. But to my surprise they only serve a pack breakfast which is fried rice only. I expect that its still an international flight. So food should still be at quality. Especially we didnt have breakfast yet. Im recommending singapore to my family ang friends . Which in fact im going to take singapore airlines back to the u.s. on feb. 28 and stay one night with my husband. So he can see how nice singapore airport. I been traveling a lot of time singapore airport is most beautiful place to be.

SQ are the best - I'm British and we used to think BA were the best - but there's no comparison overall- I think BA can offer great service in 1st but even their Business Class doesn't get close to SQ

Been flying with SQ for the last 10 years. I did the same flight (SQ12) many times The service has been awful. Breakfast from SIN to NRT was supposed to be scrambled eggs but it was liquid mush. No more SQ for me. I now fly ANA, JAL or KAL.

I flew with them about 4 months ago and they were very average. The in-flight entertainment was very ordinary. Singapore Airlines is definitely not as good as they once were.
@@nsuresh91 no that's the first flight I've had for about 3 year's. Thai airways is a favourite but they are not flying to Perth Australia at the moment so I'm stuck with Singapore Airlines or Malaysia Airlines.

Haha, I wouldn't call it stuck. I've had the fortune of traveling business class a lot of times, and honestly, in current times, I actually prefer economy over business. The cost/value proposition isn't there anymore for business. Service and facilities are constantly increasing in economy, and more often than not, there are underwhelming business cabins and experiences onboard major airlines now, which don't justify the cost (even if it is paid for by miles rather than cash). Thats why my focus on this channel is to highlight economy cabins. Thanks for watching! :)

Great job! I prefer singapore air for their safety, quality and destinations. Only thing the viewers may like to see is at least a picture of other food options. Another vlogger showed the beef noodles, looked good for us non vegetarians. Thanks for the hard work and sharing this!

I will only fly Singapore airlines if going east from Australia. My main reason is their safety record is second to none. Safety is everything to me & will always pay more. With respect It is common practice to book ahead with your meals if your vegetarian.
Right on, yeah they just seem to be a preference for so many people. Yes, I'm aware that its better to book ahead to ensure veg meals are stocked, for this flight I thought I'd go onboard and see their options (which, to be honest, inadvertently worked out great for the video as it really highlighted their service).
We live in the UK. About 2 to 3 times a year we visit my home country, Australia. We have been travelling back and forth for the past 18 years and have used many airlines. We generally travel economy however have travelled business class on the odd occasion.
In my opinion Singapore Airlines is without a doubt the best airline out there. As you say it is the crew that make the journey. Singapore Airlines crews are consistent and always welcoming and friendly. Now we only use Singapore Airlines. It is worth paying extra. You know what you are going to get.

Thank you. Comprehensive video of your flight and experience I agree with you. SQ is probably the best airline for travel. I Having been on most flagship airlines, SQ is by far the best. SQ does offer a cheaper ticket if a person stops over in Singapore on a flight.

Yes, definitely, service on board SIA was definitely much more personalized than Emirates/Qatar/Etihad. Although I haven't been on any of the Middle East airlines in a while. Maybe I'll have to take one for a review, ha!

For decades my wife and I have used Singapore Airlines. As you said, the crews are warm, polite, and are a joy to the experience. However, this last trip was a disaster, before we boarded. We purchased tickets. The next day, we received a text message saying the last leg of our return trip was cancelled. It was up to us to reschedule. No live communications. In fact, we tried and tried but could find no phone numbers to call when their emails said only for us to contact our non-existent "local" office. After two weeks of getting nowhere, one number I tried earlier but failed to find any live person, this time we did get one. He and I agreed to just cancel the whole trip and start over. Rescheduling a day earlier or later, different times - none available. We then agreed to get our refunds. We were told 6 weeks, but were surprised to get it only a week later. Too late. We went with another airline - one that has live communication with live persons. In the future, I will never book with an airline that does not offer live help.
Ahh, sorry to hear about your bad experience. One thing I left out in the review was an interaction I had with customer service-- although it was prompt and they were there when I called them, the information they gave me was wrong. But it all worked out in the end.

So sorry to hear that. I thought everyone would think that Singapore airlines had very good service for anything.
I had some experience with it. In 2020, my husband bought the Singapore airlines tickets from Singapore to jakarta, but unfortunately that time covid just started. Then he went to sg airlines office in Singapore, and he got some solutions, whether refund or reschedule. So he chose to reschedule but he asked the cs to hold it, then after 2 years he only can go to jakarta. And luckily he can get the flight. They didn't even charge. Another experience in 2017 my husband went to Bangladesh, but he was late, and then he talked to the cs sg airlines, and they helped my husband to get another flight without any extra fee, he just waited for another flight. That's why we always use this airline because for us it's flexible and helpful
Singapore has it down pat. After joining their frequent flyer programme in 2006 never looked back. I fly mostly in economy but use loyality points to fly in the premium cabins once in a while. I agree good service all round. The point you made at the end of your video about 80% being service related is so true. Service is what counts and will bring in repeat business. If you are flexible enough time wise Singapore Air has plenty of sales so I must say their fares can be at par or if not cheaper than competitors. Loved your review. Will be flying Singapore next month again out of the Philippines. Chasing Star Alliance Gold.

Is anyone can recommend a place were to stay singapore airport for one night. Were arriving 11. Pm and departing the fallowing day for los angeles at 8.45 pm . I prepare to stay at the airport so we can see the attraction at the airport.
To be honest, I had lounge access, but the lounge was SUPER packed, apart from food benefits, it wasn’t worth it. So I wouldn’t recommend paying for a lounge.
There are are many airport hotels- also if I remember correctly, you can even go into Singapore for upto 72 hours, as long as you can show them a forward ticket; if I arrived during daytime, I would have loved to do this.

Hey! that's a great question, and one that I don't have an answer to unfortunately. To be honest, I didn't even know seatbelt extenders were a thing till just now; but that's something I'll definitely keep an eye out for this moving forward. However, as for your question, I did a quick search online and it seems that SIA does provide seatbelt extenders onboard, although I would definitely check with them to make confirm availability on the specific flights you're taking!

My wife and I took Singapore Airlines business class from Singapore to Sydney for our 30th anniversary trip. We splurged on business class because we had always read about how great Singapore Airlines was. I booked the cook for their lobster dinner. The plane departed late at night but my wife and I delayed eating so we could enjoy the meal. The flight attendant was actually annoyed that we did not want to go to sleep right away. I had my cold lobster meal about 30 minutes later. They had suggested I have it for breakfast. I guess they just did not want to be bothered. I expect this type of treatment from American and European carriers. Needless to say we will never pay a premium again for Singapore Airlines. If it is convenient and the price competitive we will will take it. But our expectations are now low. Japanese, Taiwan and Korean companies offer a superior product
Oh wow, sorry to hear about your experience with SIA. To be honest, this is one of the reasons I'll be focusing on economy class videos on this channel, mainly because I feel like value proposition of premium cabins has gone down in the last few years. There's a lot more companies offering economy class products that are worth the asking price than ones offering business class products that are worth the asking price (unless its booked on a really good promo).

Yeah definitely, there was a lot to mention, was thinking about cutting out the part about the meals and the seat change, but it felt like a crucial part in highlighting how incredible the service was. Yes sir i agree with you for singapore airlines. Only there connecting flight is with scoot airline. Which i feel bad when it comes to food. I arrived singapore at 11 pm. Ang my connecting flight to cebu philippines the fallowing day at 9 good morning. But to my surprise they only serve a pack breakfast which is fried rice only. I expect that its still an international flight. So food should still be at quality. Especially we didnt have breakfast yet. Im recommending singapore to my family ang friends . Which in fact im going to take singapore airlines back to the u.s. on feb. 28 and stay one night with my husband. So he can see how nice singapore airport. I been traveling a lot of time singapore airport is most beautiful place to be.

SQ are the best - I'm British and we used to think BA were the best - but there's no comparison overall- I think BA can offer great service in 1st but even their Business Class doesn't get close to SQ

Been flying with SQ for the last 10 years. I did the same flight (SQ12) many times The service has been awful. Breakfast from SIN to NRT was supposed to be scrambled eggs but it was liquid mush. No more SQ for me. I now fly ANA, JAL or KAL.
Ah sorry to hear about your experience. I haven't tried any of the proper asian carriers yet like ANA, JAL, Cathay etc, would love to eventually try em out too.
I got no bad review for scoot and Sia I don't care about that narrow alleyway I got the nice legroom at least 😂

Thai airways is a favourite but they are not flying to Perth Australia at the moment so I'm stuck with Singapore Airlines or Malaysia Airlines.

9/2022. The meals were excellent from lax to Narita airport . But they were horrible meals from Singapore to LAX. I don’t want to fly with Singapore air again. 😢

Haha, I wouldn't call it stuck. I've had the fortune of traveling business class a lot of times, and honestly, in current times, I actually prefer economy over business. The cost/value proposition isn't there anymore for business. Service and facilities are constantly increasing in economy, and more often than not, there are underwhelming business cabins and experiences onboard major airlines now, which don't justify the cost (even if it is paid for by miles rather than cash). Thats why my focus on this channel is to highlight economy cabins.
