Tips on Trolling for Lake Trout using Crank Baits and a Teaser Trailing Spoon

  • Hello folks, this week we're back in the freshwater as we've geared up with crank baits, t-turns, and the SS Viper Spoon as we troll for those lovely lake trout.
    The day started out calm though the winds picked up after a few hours. Luckily, as the winds got stronger, the lake trout got bigger!
    On top of all the fish-catching action, we also go over a bunch of tips to help you catch more lake trout while trolling.
    As always, good luck and good fishin'!
    Ivo

    Great episode! I can almost smell the slime on your hands. that stinger is the only way to go if you are fly fishing or crank fishing. Great tip and way to show how it works!

    Hi Ryan, in Ontario, if you are under the age of 18, you do not need a fishing license. If you are an Ontario resident and are under 18 years old, you can fish in Ontario without a license :) If you are over 18 or live outside of Ontario, you will need a fishing license .

    This was a treat to watch, do you get most of your fish on the crank bait or the bait behind the spoon? What minnow bait will work? Look forward to see more. Thanks!

    • @thundermistlures
      @thundermistlures  7 років тому

      HI Chuck - typically you get more on the crankbait, but it can vary from day to day - long slender crankbaits work best as they imitate such things like smelt (i.e. Thundermist Lure Company's American Smelt Crankbait) or shads :)
