Those were some pretty fish liked the shot of the graph too we were out of two harbors last weekend white spoons were king few salmon around too another great show guys
*We tried this out finally yesterday and it worked awesome! **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s we put it on our 16 foot aluminum boat and trolled with it. We didn’t catch anything but it was still fun and worked awesome! Can’t wait to use this baby again and hopefully reel in a big ole fish! Very easy to install and set up.*
Great Vids! You should come out West and I'll put you on some Bull Trout. We can use the same tactics. I just had a 25 Bull Trout day with 5 Double Headers fishing Solo. Cheers
White is last color to fade at depth. Next is red. This make white, red and white/red combos good for deep water. They simply are most visible at depth. Then pink, orange and green.
Never heard of the chamberlin. Cant get much easier than the scotties tho. Not much reason to change. Manuals will work 100% of the time (no electrical issues, fuses, etc). We rarely fish deeper than 80 with our riggers so manuals can come up/go down just as fast as an electric.
Superior Angling. Ah I see. Manuals are very reliable. But I would recommend trying chaimberlains they are super simple and all the small fish even pop them. Super easy for walleyes all the way up to big trout. You can crank down the magnets and even use them for dodgers or flashers
@@timranta9510 Most times, I almost prefer my downriggers dont' release when a fish hits. Quite often the 4-5 seconds of slack line a fish gets when they do release severely increases the chances of them shaking the hook (Just in my experiences). I will take a look at them tho! thanks!!
Late to game on this video BUT - why do you say planer boards outfish downriggers everytime? I just bought an 18.5' Lund with downriggers so I am just starting to take up Lake Superor / deep water fishing. Wondering now if I should invest in planer boards as well as use the downriggers!
Hey I’m up on Mazinaw Lake in Ontario (Bon Echo Provincial Park) my lake is like a canyon and not too much structure down deep it’s a decline from about 50-200+ feet just curious if you knew about the lake at all or had any info on what you look for on contour lines for lakers?

When you suggested placing a white spoon near bottom. Do you suggest that when fishing 120 feet of water like when departing out of Duluth area ?
Forsure! No matter where we fish, we will always have a white spoon on bottom.
I’ll have to give it a try. I never put my riggers deeper than 70 ft most of the time
What is the brand of the white backed spoon that you are using? Thanks for all the great information!
Love the vids! Do u jig this time of the year at all? If so, I was wondering what would be a good depth to jig at?
Yeah we jig quite often! Typically 80-120 feet is best this time of year.
Will the south shore be fishable this weekend with the wind forcast (18.5 foot aluminum boat)?
Yeah you should be fine!! Keep an eye on the marine forecast, but as of now it looks fish-able.
@@SuperiorAngling Thanks so much! Do you use a specific app or website to watch the forecast? What's a good one?
Gets my blood pumping ! great video . What line releases are you using on your downriggers ?. Looks like Scotties clips ?
Yup! They are the easiest to use in our mind!
is there a specific reason that you use scotty releases opposed to chamberlains. also is there a reason you like manual riggers

How much line are you letting out after your snap weights and the end of your lead core?
about 70-90 feet.
I have the gator board XLs and if I have the front clip release they really dive under water on me
How far behind the canon ball are you running ?

What harbor is that

You should take me fishing I’m subbed and I live in Michigan
when do you think the trout will be eating a lot for the pre spawn?
Do you live in Hayward Wi ? or Superior MN?
I don't get how the snap weights don't slide or come off? Do you have a snap weight tutorial posted?
Add a loop and put both lines in the pinch weight
In these clips is a little pin that sticks up. As long as you get your line behind the "pin" it cant come off your line.
Lake Superior....surface temp 63....43 down a foot!!!!
What size RS net is that?
Kelly island. Great for walleye and trout up to 15 pounds!
