@@markking6327 Deep Purple from '69 to '73 are unbeatable. Blackmore is a far better guitarist than Page, Lord was the cherry on the cake. Each Deep Purple member had much more knowledge of music than Zeppelin. Members of Deep Purple created others famous and influents bands, like Rainbow, Gillan, Whitesnake. On the otherside Zeppelin members were and still more loyal and friends to each other and approached Deep Purple ti Hard Rock. Deep Purple despite "internal problems" beated and passed Zeppelin, especially in live performances.
@@mattia7556 great reply my friend...i will never argue with anyone's chose of musical preference it's out there for all to enjoy we just take our favourite bits.
I love this period of Deep Purple! Everyone talks about how great Made In Japan is, but all of the live performances I've heard from around this time have an additional level of fire and edge, in my opinion.
There will never be music like 70s and specially Purple because they played a lotta solos and were so tight together they were able to experimennt live and still get back to the song and all remain in the beat.
To do music like this you need energy to communicate energy. There was a complete freedom to find new sounds while improvising. I doubt it's still possible at 70 years old, even if Paice, Glover and Gillan who are still playing in the group have all my respects 👏👏👏
DP locked into a Dionysian, 'high-energy-at-all-costs' approach to rock. Only regret is losing that badass funky groove from the intro --- sacrifices must be made.
@@mitchellsumpter4807 My list is pretty long and wide, for many good reasons. But your attempt at invalidation is pretty predictable yer narrow. I could list a few hundred that fulfill my reasoning. The music is pretty good, the improvisations, pretty good... but the sheer rebellious audacity of it all is very important to note. The guardians of social order started to tighten the grip henceforth. Music at this point had proven to be a powerful way to move millions of people.with the power of alternative musical forces. This kind of stuff horrified the Establishment. For its utter fearlessness, this performance crashed the gates of the Palace and said something terrifying. So I say hurray.
@@mitchellsumpter4807 But you wrote this: "Come on! I’m a big DP fan dut, good grief, what an exaggerated statement!" Isn't that nearly a wholesale rejection of my comment? Good grief! to this time deep purple was the most virtuous rock act. cream on speed. blackmore was miles ahead over all other guys. not only the playing, the stage acting was majestic.
"Cream on Speed" is good.
They managed NOT to curdle it too!
The white Hendrix...
@@gdr205 Never heard him called that, but that is pretty accurate, I always loved Blackmore b/c his playing was so violent, same reason I love Townsend. You plug a gtr into a 100 watt Marshall stack, crank it to 11 and then beat the living shit outta your gtr...and real magic WILL happen. 🎼🤘
Back when musical giants roamed the Earth!!!! Miss those days!! Best wishes from Plymouth UK!!
Мне нравится ввесь состав DEEP PURPLE, у каждого свой амплуа, все молодцы КЛЕВО, браво DEEP PURPL!!!!!!

The applause at the end of the performance is recorded. The truth is that no one applauded. For young people in 1970, that music was too strange. Only some were blown away listening to it and went into a trance.
I love deep purple
Riccardo Toma Drumtribe me too
I still do and im glad I came accessed tthis. Purple rules.
Me too 👏👏👏👍👍👍💜💜💜
More than topaz?
Wow! What a performance! Purple was HEAVY back then.
Some of the instrumental part of that song was in Space Truckin from Made In Japan, back when they were the loudest band out there.
I saw this when it was broadcast in 1970. A gobsmacked 12 year old 😀 Been a fan ever since. The best live hard rock band .. ever.
That's the problem with New bands . No experimental and no GUTS.
CLASSIC PURPLE 😁🤟
Слушаю пурпурных уже 33 года, и все никак не могу наслушаться! как же это охрененно быть пропитанным насквозь такой музыкой!(Сергиев Посад)........... 43 года мужику!
да еще те перцы, но есть и другие ...
just another numbers than you 31 years that I listen DP and 47 yo... but the result is the same :)
There aren't many bands playing like this these days. It's exciting to watch.
It would be great if we could make a performance this cool.
In a sense, the realm of the gods. This is also a great talent.
This footage is in incredible shape for 1970.
They restored it I am sure of it
Film cameras was pretty good in the 70s, but expensive, the really expensive ones was as good as modern digital cameras even.
Just wish we had more.
Paris 1970…I never tire of it.
@@Resmioglunot really
DP, along with Zeppelin and Sabbath is why we have this beautiful thing called heavy metal. Those sounds changed the world 🤘🤘
agreed! just please dont forget bands that were alreday rocking it out heavy-style or that appeared at the same time: atomic rooster, HENDRIX, vanilla fudge, lucifer's friend, blue cheer, mountain, edgar broughton band, warhorse, cactus, stooges, humble pie, et al... amazing video and performance right here, btw!

Can't argue top top performers .....BUT ... ZEPPELIN were and always will be .....the greatest band to have ever graced the planet.
One of the greatest rock bands ever!
Deep purple is one of my favorites bands of all times. They are big monstert musicians
Proof that you don't necessarily need a big drumkit to do powerhouse drumming.
When you see the likes of Neil Peart and Roger Taylor surrounded by drums, yet Ian Paice gets more bite and drive from his "smaller" kit.
Easier to throw around at the gig's end as well.
proves you just need to know how to play
Great drummer
I agree with you but powerhouse drumming also means powerhouse drummer style isn't it ?
What era! Simply fantastic. DP highest performance.
So dam awesome...my favorite rock band of all time!
Deep Purple ...espectacular ...Gillan, Lord Blackmore..Glover ..Paice..la mejor formacion de la historia....from Argentina🇦🇷 salute...

I love this period of Deep Purple! Everyone talks about how great Made In Japan is, but all of the live performances I've heard from around this time have an additional level of fire and edge, in my opinion.
Wow....50 years old and it seems like it was filmed yesterday...top quality..
Saw them 'live', they cut the air like a knife ! Real hard rock musicians !
The level of musicians is the highest, even after half a century - only a few can play so masterfully.
Behold, the original Keyboard, at the hands of the King of keyboards.
There will never be music like 70s and specially Purple because they played a lotta solos and were so tight together they were able to experimennt live and still get back to the song and all remain in the beat.
Jon Lord got the most awesome sounds out of a B3... Rest In Peace 💗
They left everything on the stage with this performance... very good.
Вот эта группа .❤

Same as me, my friend.
It’s like these guys didn’t have the time to do anything else but create and play powerhouse music. They were on a whole other level.
To do music like this you need energy to communicate energy. There was a complete freedom to find new sounds while improvising.
I doubt it's still possible at 70 years old, even if Paice, Glover and Gillan who are still playing in the group have all my respects 👏👏👏
to do music like this you need to be high
DP locked into a Dionysian, 'high-energy-at-all-costs' approach to rock. Only regret is losing that badass funky groove from the intro --- sacrifices must be made.
That's one of the greatest pieces of music ever played by human beings on earth.
Come on! I’m a big DP fan dut, good grief, what an exaggerated statement
@@Joshualbm In what way was I trying to invalidate you? Was not intended
@@mitchellsumpter4807 But you wrote this: "Come on! I’m a big DP fan dut, good grief, what an exaggerated statement!" Isn't that nearly a wholesale rejection of my comment? Good grief! I don't really care anyway. It's exaggerated music and will not overturn anything important in the world of music. It's just all in good fun.
This video is so valuable.
Nothing but pure sound, no auto tune or lip syncing ! Just good old rock and roll !
This song is from their first album Shades of Deep Purple, which was Deep Purple Mark I . This performance is Deep Purple Mark II. Awesome baby. 😎😁👍
