    At the edge of coping is worse scary. After you get the rock it feels better. Just getting up there as often as possible is part of the comfort.

      Totally right. I spend a lot of time working on coping to build a relationship of equal respect. 😆

    i just got on my board after not skating regularly since i was a kid. i had respect for skateboarding before but oh my gosh is it so much harder than it looks. going to keep it up and stay inspired from every new video. keep it up, you're doing great!

    That bowl is HUGE! Like 8ft high! Looking really good there! I love that you are using 58mm OJs
    I use 101A and at least 56-58 or bigger if they have them.

    • @Steves_SkateXplosion
      @Steves_SkateXplosion  5 місяців тому

      Yeah I normally use 56mm as my goto size but I’m feeling so solid on those bigger 58mm.

    That final freeze frame launch out. 😂 It's crazy how often we end up on the same board or something similar. I just set up a 9" Anti Hero specifically because of the 15" wb.

      @@Steves_SkateXplosion A couple of times. I like the over-all length (33.25") but haven't been on it enough to have an opinion on it yet.

    • @Steves_SkateXplosion
      @Steves_SkateXplosion  5 місяців тому

      That length is fantastic. Are you using 169 trucks?
      I’ve also noticed the bigger wheels I’m using (58mm) totally improve my speed and stability.

      @mutatedgenome 5 місяців тому

      @@Steves_SkateXplosion At the moment I'm trying out my Indy 159 but eventually will switch to some 9" Slappy lights. No doubt for ramp/bowls 58mm will be awesome. My last board I had in the 80s had 61mm OJs.

    • @Steves_SkateXplosion
      @Steves_SkateXplosion  5 місяців тому

      I’ve heard amazing things about slappys but for the time being all my trucks are Indy’s. I’ll try out some slappys once I burn through some of these Indy’s I got.

    I have 6 boards, since I sold 7 last weekend, with a variety of Wheels I've tried over the last 2 years & I'm almost 58 yrs old...2 sets of Super Juice 55mm 78a are the fastest boards, Hands down. 1 is a 9 inch "cockfight" board & it is the best. Seriously goes the fastest around any bowl....Independent Wide trucks mostly & 1 Mini Logo Wide set.

      Yeah it really is. Granted when I look back to a year and a half ago I’m so slow it’s a wonder I could do anything. I’m only just now really figuring out how to pump out of the bottom of transition. Is this an age thing why I’m such a slow learner?

    Its funny how we progress. I had issues feeling good carving frontside. I would always do a few but it always felt out of balance. Then it was like a switch was turned on. For the past few weeks it doesn't bother me at all. I hate taking videos because everything I know is fast looks slow, lol. Keep grinding.

      I’d like to do that long line you did. Slower and lower of course, building up with the rep method. Stoked for you that you’re getting up high!
      Are you finding the OJs rolling better than the Spitfires at that park?

    • @Steves_SkateXplosion
      @Steves_SkateXplosion  5 місяців тому +1

      I think the OJs feel a bit better yes. Size wise they are considerably wider than the spitfires I usually use aside from being 2mm bigger diameter too. I’m thinking 58mm is going to be the right bowl size and outside of bowls using the 56mm. I guess it really depends on the condition of the park I’m riding at the time.

    Man great session on a beaut of a day! Looks like the Anti Hero suits you. I just picked up a Grosso 34" Dagwood deck but then I've decided to get a custom board from "Life Skateboards" so I might flip the Grosso. I think the Life shop might actually be close to you, your in Indiana right?

    • @Steves_SkateXplosion
      @Steves_SkateXplosion  5 місяців тому +1

      I’ve not heard of that place. Do you know what city it’s in? Also, you got a 34” deck? My word that’s long. How wide is it?

    • @GreybeardSkates
      @GreybeardSkates 5 місяців тому

      @@Steves_SkateXplosion That Grosso is 9.25" wide. 15" & 15 1/2" wb. Its an Anti Hero brand too. Nice square-ish full nose. I'm tempted to set it up, but I think I'm going to hold out for the custom deck from Life.
      LIfe Skateboards is located at 615 S Liberty St #3, Muncie, IN 47305 per their website. I found out about them from Prodigal Son's channel. They seem legit and have a lot of shapes. Might be a little pricer than a production model but seems worth it, to me anyway.

    • @Steves_SkateXplosion
      @Steves_SkateXplosion  5 місяців тому +1
