Just insane how good this is!! I had the privilege of being a runner from the dressing rooms to the backstage area for the international show in Minneapolis in '79, I think it was, which meant I got to meet (briefly) almost every quartet involved in the competition, and the BSU guys could not have been nicer. I was in awe to hear this live, from in the wings. Just....WOW.
1:08 ...had to replay about 11 times to overindulge in how the sound system practically melted down attempting to capture such a disgustingly locked chord
This is the tightest, slickest version of this song on UA-cam. It's confident and the performers are super comfortable. The only thing is I miss the big dramatic ringing high overtone at the end but I guess that idea came later.
Watch LUNCH BREAK do this. They are dressed as women at the Sweet Adeline convention in Baltimore... don't remember the year. UA-cam has it under CZECH IT OUT
ran out, skipped the introduction, busted a chord or two, became legends
Wow, I can actually understand every word they're singing
Idolized this quartet...I still love listening to the recordings....thanks for putting these out there!
I still listen to them all the time.

Wow, great story! Did the tenor and baritone have as similar speaking voices as they do singing voices?
My Dad,Hall of Fame tenor Johnny Ray Wearing-Rip turned me on to this Quartet. They are still the best I've ever heard live.
I got to see both their 4th place and gold's go around their necks. They never disappointed, always thrilled.
I first heard BSU 40 years ago. I still get goose bumps when I hear this.
Still loving to hear you four!!!!!
Man, this still stands up today. One of the best.
