I want to get a brown mascara, Lancôme is one of the few nicer brands that offers one…but they never have the brown in stock at the stores. I have only tried Definicils, I didn’t love it. My favorite mascaras are Urban Decay Perversion, Ilia Volumizing, and Bobbi Brown Smokey. The BobbiBrown is a drier formula, and perfect from when you first open the tube. I also just got the Tower28 mascara everyone has been talking about - that’s a good one too, also great from first opening. I want to try the Dior lash primer, think I’m going to pick that one up today.
I think you looked best in the first Hypnose. I am going to try it, too. I love the look of M. Big on my lashes, but it smudged a lot. My go to for the past year or so is the Idole. Makes my long thin lashes even longer and full. Does not smudge or flake on me and I use their Genefique Pearl serum and eye cream... usually my downfall with any mascara. I also use the Idole liquid liner and really like it. Love your channel! Seeing your comparison was unique and helpful. Update: I bought the Hypnose Drama and it is not a good fit for my long, thin lashes. It makes them too long and the lashes stick together in fat spikes, even with just one coat. With two coats my lashes are just grazing my brows and the effect is just weird - Drama indeed!
You really do look extra good today!!! Makeup colors, sweater colors and texture added to having a precious snoring dog at your feet … just right! Thank you for another thoughtful and useful video🌻
The Definicils wand is exactly how I like a mascara wand. I really don't like very fat wands and I don't like the plastic comb style ones. Now I just want a mascara that is super lengthening and leaves everything very defined and natural looking.
yes, I was admiring your sweater all thro'' this video, it's beautiful & so perfect for your lovely 'look'. I rarely use mascara, even my old Maybeline I tissue before applying, as I get it all over my lids. At 77 my lashes are very long, not a bad 'thing' , but I hate getting it off, if I've finished my makeup. Love your videos.
Mascara is tricky for me too. I don't like to struggle to take it off lest I lose lashes. But I really hate it when I have mascara smudged under my eyes the next morning when I thought I got it all off - lol
I’ve been using the Lash Idole and really like it. Thick enough but not clumpy. I have short, sparse lashes so nothing is going to make them spectacular. I use it every day if I leave the house. It doesn’t run or smudge if you don’t blink. I use the Almay Oil-free Makeup remover pads in the plastic jar and it works like a charm. The only thing I have to do now is add some of the liquid version in a bottle to add more moisture to the pads. Over the years I noticed their pads are not wet enough. It works so well for me I will compromise by adding more liquid. I’ve never used the non-oily one because I wore contact lenses for many years. You can also buy it in a bottle but then you have to supply your own pads. I buy mine CVS but you can find them at other stores too. Good luck.
This is a great video concept! I've wondered about the differences between all these Lancome mascaras too. I wore the Hypnose for years. Thank you for your excellent content.
I really enjoy the Lash Idole mascara as I find it gives me length and volume. What I find about many mascaras is that the formula works better for me after a few uses. I have found a favourite mascara and that is the Gucci. My lashes look incredible and with only one coat. The snoring Princess Grace was adorable 🥰
I love the Defincils, but I tend to love the lengthening mascaras in general. Terrific, informative video as usual! Also, your sweater is beautiful and the colours truly compliment your skin tone 🤩🤩!

So happy to come home after my shift and see you posted a video! Brilliant topic, I’ve been wondering about the different mascaras. I love these type of objective videos, thank you! So good to see you!
I'm using " Hypnôse" since many years...not in ur review! Good choice. Lancôme IS great for sensitive eyes. Difficult to find the good brush for ur personal lashes. Before, I were using Shiseido that didn't exist anymore. Thanks. Good Idea!
Hello, I am late to the game here. I have long lashes which require curling to keep them from hitting my glasses, which I need all the time, not just readers. I need waterproof because when curled my lashes hit my crease line and transfer. I also stopped using any lower lash mascara a few years ago because it was a just a big transfer raccoon eye. I wore Dior Overcurl waterproof for years. The last tube was horrible. This summer I tried Lancome Lash Idole waterproof. It flaked off after a couple of hours. Two weeks ago a Lancome rep talked me into Monsieur Big waterproof. OMGoodness, this is the bast mascara I have ever tried. I can even wear this on my lower lashes and not a trace of transfer. It is not clumping. no flaking, and gives my long lashes a really pretty feathered look. This lasted all day and still looked as pretty as the when first applied. At 65 I need all the help I can get. Your videos have been very helpful.
I have to use a waterproof mascara to keep any kind of curl in my lashes. I used to love the Hypnose Doll Eyes but it's too spidery for me now. I like something that gives volume but still looks quite natural. I'd like to try Le8, it looks beautiful on you.
Great video - I have been thinking of getting the Lash Idole after seeing Lisa Eldridge videos, but the one I always come back to is Hourglass tubing mascara. 😄
At the end of the day...I really don't care for Lash Idole. I've found it will smudge on me and it's still clumpy every though I've now had it for a while. Wear what works for you!
I used to wear Lancome waterproof mascara for years and loved the Bi-facil product to remove their mascara. I have found that as I have grown older and my hair us silver/grayI don't like to wear black mascara but prefer brown mascara...to me it seems to give me a softer, less harsh look. Since they have mostly black mascaras now, I've switched from Lancome to which ever one's I can find in brown...L'oreal Voluminous Mascara seems to be it for me as long as they make it in brown.
Loved the video and really liked the definicils on you. I have been trying lots of mascaras and love the Idole on me. I have used definicils before and don’t remember why I stopped but may need to try again.
@@TheHoodedLid I picked up the Monsieur Big and loved it the 1st day but after that it’s been clumpy. Loved the brush though. I’m going to keep trying and see if it’s better after a while. Did you have a similar experience?
I tend to like a curved wand which give a really nice lifting effect, so I will try Lash Idole when I need my next mascara. I've loved the Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance mascara (red tube) for that fluttery lash you like. On the daily I just use a tubing mascara and they don't usually do much for volume, more for lengthening (except for Hourglass Extension) which gave both. I quite liked the Monsier Big on you.
Mascara is the one item I won’t splurge on because I’ve tried beautiful ones such as Dior and Chanel but also drug store ones equally as good - I think it’s the quality and length of your lashes that makes the difference so I’d rather spend on a good eyelash serum
Thanks for the review! I used definicils for over 20 years back in the 80s and 90s. Then got into Trish mcevoy tubing mascara, Chanel and YSL. I V use revitalasj now and have my longest lashes ever but they are still not thick-ordered an o assortment of smaller tubes from the Sephora sale but will have to give the Monsier Big and the hypnose a try. The Idole did not work for me-maybe had a bad tube. Love your videos. -appreciate your calm demeanor yet occasional wit💕
“I have to ask - Why are you wearing mascara for 24 hours?” 😂😂😂 I actually liked the Definicils on you! I think at least on camera the lengthening effect looks great with a hooded lid. thank you for a video I didn’t even know I needed! (Also I’d be interested to know if you can find a dupe for your ‘perfect nude’ lip)
Wasn't that a great color on my skin? Not too light, not pink nor brown - but I don't look like I'm on my deathbed! Maybe I'll do a search at Sephora to see if I can find something like it.
I love that sweater too. It's an open weave and pulls on everything - so there are holes all over it - but that can be a "cool" look! Even taking it off yesterday, it got caught on my earrings!
Hi Kiki. I really enjoyed this Lancome mascara comparison video. It was very helpful. Thank you! I like the look of Monsieur Big mascara and the Le 8 Hypnose mascaras for me. I like a soft bristle brush and curved brushes or plastic spiky brushes scare me! Bless you xoxo

I wanted to leave you a comment on your community tab, but I was on my phone at the time, so I didn't. I started my channel to document some surgeries and my adult braces journey. I wanted to help adults who are getting braces. The majority of my comments are from men, telling me how beautiful I am and asking me to open my mouth wide and show them my teeth. There were other more sexual comments that I deleted. So disappointing.
Oh...that's so horrible. I never would have thought there was some fringe mouth guys out there. I'm so sorry - that must just feel awful. You can delete those messages or even report them to youtube and they'll be removed.
Fantastic video! Our mascara preferences are vastly different. I have long very blonde eyelashes so I look for the most volume I can get. If it is too lengthening it ends up all over my eyelids. I used to really like the Monsieur Big but then I tried Pat McGrath's Fetish Eyes and I have yet to find anything better. However, I do really love the packaging of the Le8.

I don't think I've tried her Fetish Eyes. I already have SO MANY mascaras, I'm not going to buy another one (unless for the channel) for a year!
