Thanks for the post MJ Walkabout. Put down a deposit yesterday for an 800MT for delivery in Melbourne, Australia. Hoping to get the bike before Christmas. No demonstrators so buying sight unseen and based on UA-cam posts like yours!

Be waiting a while as nothing in nz yet and not sure when they will arrive certainly at cheaper option than a gs

Glad you made the review. Thank you. I currently own an Africa Twin and am pleased with it. But, I am a fan of CF Moto and have been hoping they'd put something like this out. Now I definitely want one, (especially after your review), and I am willing to put up with the flack I'll get from others ADV guys. I do wish it came with a 21" front wheel though. I am curious about how the new KOVE 800 will compare but will, no doubt,, be trying to buy whichever one is first available.

I think the round springs on the spoke nipples are so the nipple does not push back into the rim and compromise the tubeless system if you needed to replaced a spoke.

Hey MJ, thanks for your review. I was in Miyun that day too. I looked at this bike last week and was impressed. I am 191 tall so it did feel a little low for me but I suppose a higher seat may help. Planning to drive from Beijing to 稻城亚丁next year so need a biker bike.

The stats on this are comparable to the tiger 900, except the price! The tiger is $13000 more in Australia for the GT Pro. Do you think the Tiger is $13000 better than this? This looks like extremely good value for money and a fun bike to ride! Please let me know your thoughts. Great footage!

Hi, I'm considering to upgrade my current CFMOTO 650mt. And 800mt is number one in competitors shortlist. You've mentioned that your legs are bend a bit uncomfortable when you seat and you are 180. I'm 200 and wondering if cfmoto has aftermarket rised seats? Also it would be great to see side view of your riding. Thanks!
well, there are aftermarket seats. Australian dealer sells 30 additional mm for $200, not bad.
I’m using the taller seat now, u may need a even higher seat. Factory higher seat costs $80 here.

Hi, great video, very interesting. I currently ride a 650MT and have been looking closely at the 800MT. One question - I see you were using an iPhone for navigation not the onboard sat nav system, is there a reason for that ?

I think the onboard one works via a phone app, and it only shows when to turn

Would love to know how the fuel economy is going l/100km. Live in Queensland and want to have an idea of tank range for inland routes. 95 octane?
Right now it’s about 6L/100km with 19L capacity, but I was heavy on the throttle & the bike hasn’t break in yet. Should be better latter on.
@@mjwalkabout8737 hopefully it gets slightly under the 5l/100km on our highways. What type of economy did you get on your africa twin (1000cc or 1100cc)? So I can gauge how heavy you are on the throttle.
@@mjwalkabout8737 6l/100km seems an awful lot. Be sure to give us an update, with how much maximum and minimum this bike burns fuel. Maybe in the next video?

I think CFMOTO is doing the things good. I have a 650NK 3 years by now and I'm thinking of change it for a 700 CLX. Not grand improvement, but more power and its design caught me.
Nice review of that 800MT, is a machine that gives you power when you need it, lineal and soft. Not as the KTM 790 that is a little bit more agresive-nervious.
What's the trade in value like

160cm if I remember it correctly. Around 6L now but the bike hasn’t break in yet.

@@p.santos6694 In my opinion in this category you do not look for economy.For example in Greece where I live the basic price is almost 9000 euros.With the fuel price 95 oct. 1.80 the 1.5 liter difference at 10000 kms it will cost under 300 euros which is nothing acording to the cost of the bike.
If I wanted an economical bike I would buy a 300cc bike with less budget and less expenses anually.
@@jal1797 hi there. I completely agree with you but In my case I ride every day about 130 km except Sundays. 10 days = 1300 Kms. 1 month = 3900 Kms. That's a lot of extra money every month. After 3 years I could buy a new bike with that "extra". For example the fuel consumption of the nc750x is 3.5 L/100km. Cheers 👍👍👍
How's rust and paint? I love near the coast and have seen reviews where cfmotos rust easily. Not sure if true

This bike has the KTM 790 engine in it right? It is a bit heavy for an 800 I think. Do you still have the Africa Twin too?
Yes, same engine & frame. 20kgs more than the 790r & 20kgs less than Africa twin AS
@@mjwalkabout8737 Oh, I see so you have/had an AS version. I hope you won’t have any issues with the CF Moto, because I heard a lot of shit about KTM lately. Not speciftcly about the 790/890 platform but the 1290

How about the quickshifter are you using it? How is it?
Still trying to break in the gearbox, the quickshifter works well but has some issue going from second to third.
