Had, without a doubt, the most stubborn windshield sticker. It had layers of adhesive which resisted WD-40, alcohol and razor blade. So I tried your olive oil solution. Within 10 minutes of oil and blade it was off and windshield looks like new! Thank you!

HAHAHAHA! This is great! I had tried to remove a sticker from a new frying pan I bought yesterday. Only the paper part came off. The glue stayed. I just now paused your video at 3 minutes in... went back to my kitchen... poured a few drops of olive oil into my skillet, and quickly rubbed it over the remains of the decal. I figured since it was a larger area (5 inches in diameter), I'd probably have to let it soak for several minutes. But before I set the skillet down to soak, I tried the edges again with my fingernail. The edge of the adhesive area suddenly started coming up, ALL IN ONE PIECE! This was not happening before! Thank you so much! This does actually work! :)))

THANK YOU SO MUCH! After trying with hand sanitiser alcohol gel for a good 30 min, acetone for 30 min more, I was desperate ... I saw your video! Within 10 seconds, literally sorted! I can't thank you enough as it was an expensive present and the label was enormous!

That is so cool! Thank you for sharing this tip. By the way, a blow dryer softens glue on stickers so they remove easily. It's best to keep the dryer about 3 inches from the sticker and move the dryer back and forth at a relaxed pace for about 5 to 10 seconds, possibly more depending on the package (cardboard takes longer) or how long the sticker has been on the package.
For large labels (like on a box you are reusing), start at a corner and heat other parts going towards the center as you peel the label off. If you hold the dryer in one place on high heat, you run the risk of heating the label too much to0 fast. You may actually singe the paper without softening the glue. Learned this from our bindery guy at my job who uses a heat gun to remove labels and shrink wrap packages. :-)

Thank you so much for this, it really works. I thought I would never get the residues off from my refrigerator door.
I rubbed some coconut oil over the sticker residue and let it soaked for couple of hours. Coconut oil melted the residues, wiped that off with cloth....worked like a charm.

I paused this video about half way through to test this.
It works. It took a bit longer than ten seconds, for me, and 2 applications: I rubbed, dried then rubbed and dried again. Outstanding results.
Thank you CLHunter for a wonderful tip.
I'm going back to remove another sticker from a second bowl.
A million thumbs up. Subbed for your ingenuity.

Painted my golf clubs and the duct tape I used to mask the face left a mess. Didn't want to use acetone or anything harsh to ruin the paint and didn't have any olive oil on hand. So, I used some of the liquid from a jar of olives I had in the pantry. Worked like a charm and saved the paint!

Isopropyl alcohol or even coconut oil will also do this removal, but extra virgin olive oil is likely cheaper than coconut oil at the store. Use a sponge-type scrubbie when removing the glue and it all does pretty well. Tried using fingernail polish remover in the past and the odor alone will knock you out. WD-40 and Tiki and Duct tape oil were also failures on a set of plastic glasses from the local Dollar Store that needed the sticky residue removed from them. Had to toss them at the time, as I had not learned the oil trick.

Peter thxx so much for making this great vid cus YOU just saved me from a breakdown !! All day I have been trying to get the tape and residue and old OLD tape w/residue off of the metal frame of the sliding door's. I have tried every remedy out there on youtube today and the OLIVE oil was the ONLY thing that JUST worked for me !! I shouldn't even be typing this right now. Instead I should be working more on getting this off but I just had to tell you "and other's" how well the olive oil is working :) ! I watched and tried coconut oil, vinegar, then apple cider vinegar that was on another video, then ice cubes, I even tried the "wash it 1st w/coke and then peanut butter and etc... LOL !" But seriously ppl, THIS works! Also if you scroll down the comments, you'll see a woman tells everyone that ANY oil works. So I tried coconut oil on one side and olive "like Peter's vid is about" and olive worked amazing and coconut, to my surprise, didn't do a thing. It took of NOTHING. So if you're reading this, don't waste any of your precious time on the random tips, just do what he says in the video and your golden :) ! ..... BUT, I would like to try the lighter fluid that people are commenting about, I just don't have any here. I'm now a nubi subscriber ;) !

At a garage sale I once picked up a vintage tube guitar amplifier which had wood grain contact paper all over it! Very ugly. I bought amp for like $35.00, it was a Magna tone stereo amp made in 1959, I used a heat gun, and pulled all the contact paper off, to an old vintage amp covered with sticky glue! I used Goo Gone to get all the glue off, and I basically restored this old 1959 magnatone stereo tube amplifier. I still have it and it looks great, original dark brown tolex. Sounds real sweet, very warm sounding

I use heat at first (hair dryer will work), then the sticker usually comes right off with no residue. If there is still residue, then a little oil works great. I just use vegetable oil (mineral oil works too). If it is a large surface, then you might want to use a little Windex to clean off the oil. If the previous methods do not work, then rubbing alcohol works on some weirdo goo.

  • @angelinajoanie

Olive oil does actually leave a bit of grease. It's good for removing the really gummy residue, but I have a method that is far easier and cleaner for most uses: take a piece of packing tape and simply place the sticky side over the sticker residue and remove. Do this repeatedly and vigorously. It will remove all the residue and leave it brand new. Sometimes you have to do it enough for the residue to warm up a bit, so don't give up if it doesn't work immediately. Also, VERY IMPORTANT, only use it on hard surfaces like plastic, do not use it directly on paper or cardboard packaging because it will stick to the printed surface and pull it up leaving a bare spot of cardboard showing.
