    Best washer and dryer I have ever owned. You will finally have that fresh washed smell like they did when you were little and your parents had a 1970s Maytag washer.

    Just returned a LG washer for the Speed Queen TC5003WN, much much better than that LG.

    • @5610winston
      @5610winston Рік тому +1

      I had the _Consumer Reports_ top-rated LG top-loader that took hours to run a single load, never got the work clothes clean, never managed to balance itself, and used God-knows how much excess water draining and refilling in trying to balance, and the LG barely outlasted the warranty.
      I had LG. I bought one of the first TC5000s sold in the Atlanta.
      It may not be the latest, but it does what I need it to do, and that makes it the greatest.

    While I'm impressed by the 5000 or 5003 (not sure of the difference) and will be buying one today, to say it has no electronics is a bit of a misnomer. While it does have dials I think they're more for looks than anything as the main dial does not have the mechanical cycler on it like the models of yesteryear with the familiar click, click, click as it turns to show you where in the wash cycle you're at (Wash, Rinse, Spin, etc.) and having a button with an LED on it for "deep fill" is another clue that it isn't quite as old school as stated. Smaller capacity to me isn't an issue because with a wash cycle of 28 minutes and getting clothes clean the first time to me means that it will outperform a washer with more capacity that takes much longer to do a load that may have to be washed a second time.

    If a Speed Queen washer with only 3.5 cu.ft. tub size, and the Whirlpool has a larger cubic foot size, how is it that the Speed queen can handle a 18 pound load of laundry? (Where the Whirlpool with a greater size tub can only really handle around 12 pound loads) - Doesn't that make the Speed Queen the higher capacity? I get the feeling that CUBIC FEET measurements are just marketing B.S. (jmo)

    • @patcola7335
      @patcola7335 3 роки тому +1

      The 2013 Speed Queen top loader I had said on the lid was16 LB. capacity. More realistic . The great thing is you can utilize the entire tub.

    • @YaleAppliance1
      @YaleAppliance1  3 роки тому +4

      Easiest way to understand cubic feet is basically how much water it can hold. Load size (in terms of lbs) has more to do with the inner working of the unit. Speed Queen is a commercial platform so is built to handle more lbs.

      The issue with many top loading machines that claim a high cpacity is they don't fill with much water, so what is the real capacity in terms of a proper wash?

    • @piecesoftheheart9231
      @piecesoftheheart9231 2 роки тому +1

      My Speed Queen (at 3.5) is absolutely larger capacity than my Whirlpool Removable Agitator 2 in 1 (at 4.7), beyond a shadow of a doubt…
      Reason being is because the SQ fills all the way up, and it’s independent transmission run agitator scrubs from top to bottom… rolling the clothes over, and over.
      I’ve had 7 machines in the last 10 yrs, including this SQ TC5, and I will never mess with another front or top load h/e machine again…

    Does the TC model use the plastic drive hub? I did research before buying my commercial washer which I ended up going with the Maytag based off the salesman when I originally wanted to go with you speed Queen, I am now paying for that this will be the second time I'm going to replace the plastic drive kit. I'm thinking of just scrapping the thing and going to the TC model but I wanted to make sure that it is not going to cause me the same headache.

  • @JetPackDino

    Thanks. I think this is the one. We've had a Bosch washing machine since 2005, we've run it a lot (2 kids, 3 dogs, husband who plays in the mud more than all our kids & dogs combined) and that front-loading Bosch just hasn't had a single problem ever EXCEPT *ONE. And y'all know what that problem is: it gets moldy.
    And I don't care how reliable a machine is if it's also infecting our clothing with spores. We clean it, of course, but... is the mold ever really completely gone? I doubt it.
    Lately my son's skin allergies have been on the upswing and I think that our front loading washer is the culprit. I just want a regular washer that doesn't take an app to run it. I can't with all the apps anymore. I don't need The Cloud to give me permission to do my freaking laundry.
    Also, I have someone who helps me with my housework and English isn't her first language so the simpler the washer can be, the better for both of us.
    So I think Speed Queen might be the way to go. I am just sick and tired of front-loaders honestly.
    *Actually while I was typing this I realized that our front loader does have another big FRUSTRATING problem. It will occasionally decide to run a load for twice as long. So then a one hour wash turns into two hours, more like 2 hours and 20 minutes, and there goes your day. Sick of SMART washers.
    (Lol it's been a long day doing laundry, can you tell)

    • @hoptard
      @hoptard 5 місяців тому

      No...the instruction manual says that once you start a load, any changes to the settings do not affect what you have started. Found that running Deep Fill, Extra Rinse with Eco/Normal mode is the better arrangement for the Eco setting.
      The problem with Eco/Normal mode, there is no separate Fill/Rinse cycle. Eco is just Fill, Wash, Spin w/Minimal Splash Rinse, Done. This shortened process is what causes the soap suds to build up and overflow out of wash drain pipe at end of Spin cycle.

    Drum washes clothes not the water. That is why in general front loaders both use less water and clean better. Their spin cycle dries clothes better too. Thus the majority of commercial speed queen washers are front loaders.

    We replaced a cheap old whirlpool washer with a speed queen 4 years ago. The whirlpool lasted about 8 years. Its been a horrible experience. The washer is not nearly as good, clothes are not as clean and you have to do more loads because of the small size. After only 4 years there is a load moaning noise that sounds like a whale and it kills during the spin cycle. The warranty was only 3 years. Wish i didnt fall for the 25 year expectation. Steer clear of these things and go for a better warranty with trusted manufacturers. Something changed with these machines a few years back and I should have heeded the warning.

      The new machine has a 5 yr warranty. You have less control over water level and some other things. Most like the former model slightly more. Cost savings measures but possibly more reliable. Not a huge difference. I will buy the newer model simply because it will be new- and have a 5 year warranty. Any appliance can and will, at some time break. If both were new with same warranty, I would get the former version. I will get the new version and sleep just fine. Did you end up getting one- thoughts? Do NOT buy any tR series machine.
