"I haven't really eaten today. Except for that food I'd had." Unintentionally funny, Sean! Fun video as always. I've only got indoor space to grow in, but it's all green with a couple of vegetable flowers coming out. Not sure how I'd tackle a rose! I guess I'd not tackle it but admire it.
Lovely to see all the roses in different colour ,shame we couldn't smell them. You have such a good memory of old buildings what theywere used many years ago. That pub you said was leaning out into the road it must have been all the beer it has consumed over the years😅 Laughed when you said you didnt want Waitrose to go in you drawers.😅 Have a good day.
Was just thinking about what you put on video, about curtains in your bedroom. You could buy black out curtains or thermal ones. I had the same problem waking up early, I had curtains up but the light kept coming through them. So I got my grandson to put up a blackout blind. Still kept the curtains up, now when I pull the blind down and close the curtains it is bitch black. Also I notice in the winter the room wasn't cold with no heat on in that room.
Beautiful roses at the show....I imagine you could smell them when you walkied in the room....ummmmm.Thanks for taking us along..... its OK to do a regroup day..give yourself permission....I have odd nights of sleep....especially on the full moon...if I see the moonlight I cant get back to sleep. Or if the weather is changing to a storm comming soon I'm awake before the weather changes and dont know why....My sleep gets all wonky. I told my daughter, back in the cave days, I would be the one on gaurd, getting up and keeping the fire stoked. She said "you would, Mom." Good to see your found your spring in your step...
Hi Sean, yes you can freeze milk we do that all the time! Don't worry it won't explode but do give it a little bit of room so it's not squashed to allow for the milk to expand once frozen in the bottle. I always give the lid a little extra twist to make sure the lid is on tight so it doesn't leak! Also when you go to defrost it, get it out the evening before and stand it on the side overnight in a container to collect the water - by morning it should be defrosted! Then give it a wipe and put in the fridge. Btw those chips you bought are an excellent brand. I bought the same brand in croquettes and they were yum and quite big too! I think I needed to be on what you are when I put my apple tree in - I must admit I was flagging a bit thank goodness it wasn't any bigger! 😅 I have a sitting/kneeling stool too - they are really useful for sitting on when planting small plants saves all the bending and my back which is not as strong as it used to be! Was lovely seeing the roses - my fav is still that pink one as it is so unusual! I'm not very good with roses sadly but I love their scent! Btw why not use your freezer to put more fridge magnets on. Just an idea! Take care, until next time!
I’ve always put milk in the freezer, then when I’ve nearly used all my milk in the fridge up, I get the one out if the freezer, before bed, and pop it in the sink stood upright to defrost overnight. Never had any explosions yet😅😊
Milk won't explode in your freezer Sean, but defrost it slowly in the fridge and give it a good shake to mix it properly again.. Cover your fridge door and freezer with more magnets . .. I always drink Yorkshire decaff tea, the best for me . .Enjoy your week Sean.. Thanks for sharing with us, oh, and I loved all the Roses . .
Dear Sean, as always a lovely visit to your Chanel. I have my morning tea with you. The rose show was lovely. I can’t get my roses to stay, I keep loosing them. They are very emotional plants so it has to be because I am not giving them the spot they want or the support they need. Regarding milk in the freezer. I have frozen milk in the past. One thing is it needs space to expand when freezing so make sure to take some milk out before you freeze the rest, when defrosting remember when thawed to shake it vigorously and then bobs your uncle. I leave my butter out as well but I am an ancient old bird and have always stayed true to my granny’s advise. Granny was born in 1900 so that says how old I am. Please know that your Chanel brings great joy. I have actually planted seeds because of your influence . I also have added flowers this year to my front garden just so I can enjoy the season. I am looking for the aster maple tree you mentioned and have chosen a spot in the garden to display it , I will be able to admire it from my spot on the couch while watching your videos.
We freeze milk all the time. We transfer fresh milk into smaller glass jars and freeze it. Leave a two finger gap between the milk and the jar lid- the milk will expand when frozen. We only defrost milk as we need it. Also, butter can be frozen. We bulk buy butter when it goes on offer.
I have a Matalan sleeveless t shirt from 2003 that has plenty of wear left BUT that is trumped by a 1986 Tangerine Dream concert tour t shirt that still fits me at 57 🙂
You can treat your broccoli as a cut flower to make it perk up a bit if it have started to go a bit soft. Just trim off the dried bit of the cutting surface and pop the stem in a glass of water.
An old m59 knitted jumper. (That's the Swedish army uniform introduced in 1959 ) bought it in the mid 1990-ies from army surplus when they switched uniforms to m94. Been with me ever since as my favourite comfy and practical stave off the winter cold jumper. And I expect to basically get buried in it. Needs a few repairs now and then, sew on a button or stitch up a hem. But nothing major. Those old uniforms.were built to last.
Recognise that now transparent pyjama hoodie from past videos. As one of your viewers mentioned before you don't give a dam. Love it , don't ever change. A shopping haul shouldn't be a comedy but I don't how you manage to turn it into one without even trying. Thank you for my first laugh of the day. Take care.
What lovely roses! My Grandmother had a rosebush that I always loved as a child. She said it was a Three Sisters Rose. I always keep my eye out for them at flower shows, etc but rarely see them. Maybe it's an old-fashioned variety.
I adore roses and am gradually filling my garden with more. I also love visiting a NT property in June called Mottisfont which is just magical when their rose garden is in full bloom.
The roses were beautiful and so many different colours. If you have a block of wood above each window for the curtain rail measure it and that will give you the measurement of each curtain as you don't want them flat on the window. Also measure from the curtain rail down to get the.drop. Drops are 48, 60, 72 and 90 inches. Yes you can freeze milk but make sure it's fully defrosted as it can have ice in the middle. If you wrap your fresh chicken portions individually you can freeze them xx
Hi Sean … really enjoyed this video … oh those roses, how beautiful, Wish I could smell them. Something about that little stroll you took after reminiscing about your childhood was so endearing especially when you mentioned they used to put horseshoes on there and then Wow that backlane… Love it… I always imagine all the people that have passed down those paths , kinda sad don’t you think … Thankyou for sharing your life with us.. take care
I used to freeze milk when my kids were young and I could get it cheap. To keep the container from 'exploding' I would always pour out a little to give it room to expand.
Hi Sean, 4am starts to the day with the morning chorus, are beautiful and precious. Im a dawn waker and half dead by 9pm. Apparently, in the days before electric light, people got up at dawn to go work the land or such. So in a way, if we took all the modern conveniences away, the slow life of a welsh cottage, would have started that way, each day. I recently saw an article that says the romans and others of the Middle Ages too, had two sleeps at night and a whole night of 8 hours is a modern arrangement and expectation. It seems they would go for sleep as it got dark. Sleep until early hours then get up and be active, physically, practically and socially….they had get togethers with others. Then they went back for more sleep until waking break fast (breakfast). Does make you think that our waking at 2am as part of our sleep rhythms, is natural and we shouldnt fight it and stress to get back to sleep until ready. It sounds as though your cottage is teaching you the simple life of the past.
We lived in Germany for couple of years and quite a distance from local shops so we used to buy milk and freeze it, it won't explode and tastes no different 😊
Moin Sean, the beautiful flowers you have seen on the fence is a nasturtium oder " kiek übern tuun"( ~ look over the fence) in our family. Nice sunday 🌹
I too freeze milk in plastic bottles regularl without problems. The problem of opening the container to pour some out means that the seal is broken and when you lie it flat n the freezer it will leak.
What amazing roses. My Dad was an avid rose grower. Rambling and bush, happy days. Your going to need another shed to put all your tools in. Have you tried Kefir it's a great drink?. Did mushrooms in the microwave for the first time yesterdat, fabulous. Love sweet potatoes. Can't be!ieve I enjoy watching someone unpacking a grocery order.🐞
Yes, freeze that milk. You could take about a half a cup off the top, no fear of a freezer explosion . I freeze milk all the time- especially in the winter so I always have back up if the weather is nasty. Great order Sean. Lots of healthy goodies. Your larder if full!!💕👍🏻
I love the rose show, my garden is currently in bloom with roses, its the only colour in the garden as its mostly foliage and greenery, my favourite rose is David Austin Blue Moon, it never fails to look and smell stunning. i'm thinking of getting one for indoors bcos i love it so much , everytime i bring them in as cut roses i get spiders! so maybe get one just for the house. thanks for this vid, thoroughly enjoyed.
I have a zippered gray hoodie with frayed cuffs and rips I use for sleeping or outside dirty work. The side of my fridge doesn't have magnets, I use six or more plain magnets to hold tins on the side of the fridge, storage for tea, medicine, and other smaller items, plus put spices etc on top so they are like shelves too.
Pure joy seeing the roses at the show. Hope Wales keeps its show culture alive, it's been allowed to dwindle and die here in Scotland. Despite being popular with all folks, young and old, gardeners or not, the local authorities see it as an easy hit to cut funding costs.
I don't know how long your allotment plot has been empty, but according to a recent scientist, they say you should leave it empty for a year, before planting VEGETABLES when chickens have been grazing because of the E COLI BUG ..which has been found in supermarket pre- packed food in recent weeks..
You can freeze milk yep, usually l pour it into smaller plastic bottles before freezing, and you can freeze butter.Always keep a few in the freezer in winter, in case l cant get out. Also I freeze sliced bread ,into 4 slice portions.Good vlog Sean, the roses were beautiful.🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Hi Sean yes I keep butter out on table in s dish, an a spare in fridge sobi dont run out, I aso freeze milk, an it doesn't explode so dont worry, just defrost in fridge when current one is getting low. Shake ut an be sure it's totally defrosted. I love those Roses at the show they were beautiful. Also you could start putting magnets on front of fridge i do. Thank you Sean for another lovely video. I did lol at the comment of Tom, Dick, an Jane not allowed in to be putting their hands in your Drawers. 😂😂.i totally agree. Eeeh Lad you do make me laugh. Take care Pet, stay Safe!
Good morning Sean, the roses were absolutely amazing! There must have been a terrific scent in the room, I only wish you had scratch and sniff videos! Do you remember those stickers? 😂 Loved the look of your "Jacket potato"! a little of what you fancy does you good and you were walking quickly to burn off some of the carbs and sugars 😉 your potting thingy will probably turn up when you dont need it! I laughed so much in that half an hour, you made my day! Thanks Sean, take care 💜
Lovely time spent with you, thank you! Is the book you mentioned near the end, "The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill but Came Down a Mountain" by Christopher Monger? We've had a couple copies over the years, I see one peaking at me on the shelf right now, and it's a family favorite. It was made into a movie, which is also a family favorite. Dry sense of humor, wonderful, engaging story, I hope you do get to read it. Not exciting, but it's like an old friend. We re-read it every couple of years or so. And watch the movie, too. Those roses are lovely and it makes me wish we had shows like that here. We used to have a Potato Festival every year, but the area went from 30+ potato farms to 2. Not the same, eh? Take care of yourself, you don't want a re-lapse that puts you down for weeks, and neither do we.
When you were in London at your last allotment with the shed, I sent you a large white magnetic wipe off board on which to plan out your plot. I don’t know if you packed it to take to this new place but it should work for your magnets. Kim
I love 🌹 roses. I have several growing in my garden. I have several mini roses, they always put on a good show every year. I use the rose spray to keep them free from rust spots etc. It’s interesting seeing you walk through the village as I’m seeing places I’d never see driving through. We have a little community garden where I live on the entrance to the estate. We have Christmas trees dotted around too. I love the metal signs, I used to collect them years ago. And tins. I got rid of them when I needed to downsize for moving. I love a shopping haul, I’m nosy. But I wouldn’t want anyone going through my cupboards either Sean. The Waitrose fish fingers are lovely. It’s great that you’re seeing the benefits of the freezer, you will definitely spend less on food in future. When you freeze milk, you need to empty some out because as it freezes it expands. It can make the bottle burst.😮 I use kefir for my gut health. It’s good stuff. I buy frozen chopped leeks, very handy for cooking with. I bought a butter dish recently so I can soften it ready for baking with. I use sunflower 🌻 spread on my bread.
It’s called Rose Clear. It comes in a spray bottle and it’s about £5. It gets rid of black fly, greenflies, prevents mildew and rust spots. Really good stuff.
The roses were beautiful. What a shame more people didn’t go to see them. My friend has been the Grand Champion rose grower many times. He’s now the president of the national rose society of Australia and the WFRS Vice President Australasia. He is in the UK at the moment. He’s a judge. His garden is beautiful when it’s the rise season here and once he’s done showing he has buckets of roses to give away. They all smell absolutely gorgeous.
Can freeze milk. But you have to remove about an inch or so from the bottle before you put it in freezer. If you don’t the milk as it freezes expands and will blow the lid off in the freezer
I love those Waitrose sausages, too, Sean. I found some purple potatoes at our weekly local market. They were sold with some of the more unusual vegetables. Not a lot of flavour, and I peeled some of mine and then realised that the goodness is probably in the skins.😀
I've never had milk burst in the freezer yet and I've been doing it for years. It separates so will need to be shaken before you use it but the milk itself will still be fine.
I freeze my milk all the time and never had any problems. When it comes to defrosting, I put it in a bowl of cold water in the sink.Fab video as always.
Hi Sean hope your well talking about rhubarb I had a variety called champagne it was really lovely made into a crumble and of course cream take care luv sadiexx
I do freeze milk but I stand them up with their lids off then when they are frozen put the lid back on, they do expand and if they overflow you can easily scrape some off and use it for a cup of tea and put the lid back on.
Mayonnaise is lovely mixed with tuna I find, either in a sandwich, or on a baked potato - beautiful - if you do no have any butter! I always try to have a 1/2 pint of my semi skimmed milk in the freezer, in the plastic bottle it comes in from Waitrose, just as you have done with your full cream milk, and there is no need to take any out. Then I take the milk out of the freezer, the day before I want it, and leave it in the sink, and put in the fridge when I go to bed, so it is defrosted by the next day. xxx
Sean, yes, I agree about the cream. My windows are covered by thermal drapes. They block sun in summer which majes my house too warm. AC runs making the electric bill go up😢. In winter, these drapes keep down the drafts from windows and doors. I do have goid insulated doors and windoes but they arent petfect. Pethaps you will be abe to sleep later. Your breakfast looks really good. Have a wondrrful day😊
Oh my goodness! That brought back my teen memories and of discos in The Coffin! The last song they always played was ‘ what becomes of the broken hearted 💔’ this was 1970s
If you transfer some of your fridge magnets to the shed, you can use flat baking trays (swiss roll tins) nailed to the wall and stick the magnets to them. If you do that, bring a magnet with you to make sure you get a baking tray that it will stick to. 😊
Here is an easy recipe for one. Slice half an onion, and half of your pepper. Pour a little olive oil in your skillet. Add the onion first and cook until soft..about 5 minutes. Then add your bell pepper. Cook for about another 3 minutes. Peppers and onions make a nice side dish (I add fresh or dried herbs to it at the last minute.)
I have frozen those plastic milk bottles before and they’ve been fine, but when defrosting I place them in a bowl so it catches all the condensation and I don’t get a soggy fridge or counter. :)
Good morning Sean on a Sunday morning and what a treat to see those beautiful roses 🌹🌹 and what amazing colours. And I have never tried decaffeinated tea ☕ i love M&S extra strong tea bags and I also used a stainless steel double insulated butter dish from lekeland it keeps it cool in the summer. I think RIVERFORD gross purple sweet potato 🍠. I am thinking of shopping online at WAITROSE i don't if they deliver to my area. And there's not much difference in price . Keep up the good work not before long you will look like slim Jim 😅 .
Waitrose have an economy range of food which i tend to buy. If they dont have an item that you have ordered they will substitute with another. If you are not happy with an item just let them know and they will refund. The fish fingers are really nice.
The milk will be fine and it wont 'explode'. But when you take it out the container will have expanded slightly and probably wont stand up straight so will need support (your pot bowl?) while it defrosts. Great way of having milk in for those days when you just can't get out to the shops.
Speaking of tuna, I mix white albacore tuna which is better then brown for you, with mayonnaise, a bit of mustard, onion, and sweet relish. Some folks put in chopped celery. Mayonnaise is spread on the bread with added slices tomato and lettuce (I use fresh spinach leaves). Sometimes I toast the bread place the tuna mix on top and then melt cheddar cheese on top for a tuna melt. 😊
You're like a breath of fresh air Sean :)
Great fun Sean thanks! I really appreciate that you're just you and let us tag along
I remember dialling 16 in the old phone boxes to get the chart hits! Ah, look how far we've come now with spotify, etc.

That pub you said was leaning out into the road it must have been all the beer it has consumed over the years😅 Laughed when you said you didnt want Waitrose to go in you drawers.😅 Have a good day.
Shirley Bassey played it that pub when she was finding fame.

My first thought when you asked "do you have anything quite old and falling apart?" was... Yes, myself 😂😂 (also 50😊)
🤣
You beat me too it!!! 😂lol
😂🤣
And me!! 🤣 nearly 53 lol!!
Beat you all! I'm 69!

“Bakelite” is the name of cutlery handle. Loved the rose show! 95 degrees here in Los Angeles! Enjoy the weather in Wales!
That’s it! Thanks.
Curtains are insulating as well, you Sean are my de stresser TY. Sue
Lovely colourful roses, i can just imagine the scent from the roses ,

I would not be eating a meal at 8pm. Not conducive to a good night's sleep.
You're right. I try and not eat after 6 pm at all. Except perhaps when on holiday and your whole routine tends to be different then...
A banana or kiwi fruit is very good for sleep though
Since the time has changed, I've been eating 8-9 pm . Terrible, I know!

❤beautiful roses lovely vlog x
I take about a cup of milk out of container to avoid any explosions ☺️
Great idea. Thanks.
You don't need to do that Sean, it won't explode as long as the bottle isn't squashed. We freeze milk all the time and never had any explode!
I too freeze milk in plastic bottles regularl without problems. The problem of opening the container to pour some out means that the seal is broken and when you lie it flat n the freezer it will leak.
@@dianefarnden8577 Exactly that. So before the milk freezes it can leak out of the lid. 👍
What a beautiful display of roses

I love your cats, I have 7 black cats.
I read that book … manyyyyyyy years ago x Enjoyed it .. never thought about it until you mentioned it xx Enjoy
Love frozen fish fingers and chips. Easy to do after a long day at the garden.
I freeze semiskimned and I freeze butter ❤❤❤
It looks so lovely and cool and lush where you are. I'm in Virginia, today is 107F with the humidity factor!
I'm in Richmond and it's like a sauna. No one is out!

I always used to freeze fresh milk, but I used to decant half into another container, as when you defrost it you can find it leaks as it expands.
Love the video 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I love the comment on Nature produced peas' sugar content (to watch).... following on from 2 manmade sugar loaded treats at the coffee shop LOL
You shouldf look in the vintage store you go too for curtains and sheets/ blankets
Ive grown malabar for first time and it made a perfect stirfry. So surprised because it was sweet not bitter like some have said
Watching from West Virginia I love flowers roses was my mom’s favorite
Sean you can buy boards for magnets and hang them on walls. You look happy and well and we wish you al the best from Slovenia!
Yes that’s the book. 📕
We have found the Waitrose chuncky Haddock fish fingers to be much nicer than the cod ones. Gorgeous roses at the show.
When you were in London at your last allotment with the shed, I sent you a large white magnetic wipe off board on which to plan out your plot. I don’t know if you packed it to take to this new place but it should work for your magnets. Kim
Yes I have it by the door ready to go into the shed.
@@seanjamescameron YAY!
Thanks
All those roses were so beautiful. It must have smelled amazing in there. My mother loved roses, so I always think of her. ❤
Those roses were amazing! There is a lavender rose with an amaxing smell that always reminds me of my Mom😊
Wow! Your weight loss journey is really showing now. Congrats my friend. You are looking good!
It can make the bottle burst.😮
I use kefir for my gut health. It’s good stuff.
I buy frozen chopped leeks, very handy for cooking with.
I bought a butter dish recently so I can soften it ready for baking with. I use sunflower 🌻 spread on my bread.
What's the name of the product you use for roses?
It’s called Rose Clear. It comes in a spray bottle and it’s about £5.
It gets rid of black fly, greenflies, prevents mildew and rust spots. Really good stuff.
lurv all your chit chat and humour bits - yes remember FAB
The roses were beautiful. What a shame more people didn’t go to see them. My friend has been the Grand Champion rose grower many times. He’s now the president of the national rose society of Australia and the WFRS Vice President Australasia. He is in the UK at the moment. He’s a judge. His garden is beautiful when it’s the rise season here and once he’s done showing he has buckets of roses to give away. They all smell absolutely gorgeous.
I love your digging dance and in the kitchen . You are going to have to put some music to it!!!😂😂😂🎶
Can freeze milk.
When I freeze a plastic container of milk I open it and pour out a little because the milk will expand when frozen
Yes, I keep butter in a butter dish on the counter except for summer when the temps are too high and the butter will turn.
I freeze my milk all the time and never had any problems. When it comes to defrosting, I put it in a bowl of cold water in the sink.Fab video as always.
Saun you're becoming a fridge magnet 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The building where the roses were is where we used to go to vote when I lived in Treorchy 😊
Have a wondrrful day😊
The fridge is looking nice and colourful. I freeze my milk and let it thaw out In the kitchen sink, usually overnight
Oh my goodness! That brought back my teen memories and of discos in The Coffin! The last song they always played was ‘ what becomes of the broken hearted 💔’ this was 1970s
Hi Sean. Thank you for sharing.
Those bottles are made to expand when frozen. We freeze bulk milk here in NZ
Fridge looks like an art piece. Very nice.
If you transfer some of your fridge magnets to the shed, you can use flat baking trays (swiss roll tins) nailed to the wall and stick the magnets to them. If you do that, bring a magnet with you to make sure you get a baking tray that it will stick to. 😊
I get Waitrose lightly dusted fish from the chilled area. Lovely with a squeeze of fresh lemon. X
I’ve had that before and loved them. Must get them again.
There's one called the English man who went up a hill and came down a mountain. That's a good movie that is .Think it was based in Glamorgan
I need to do more roasted vegetables.
I freeze milk all the time. Never had an explosion, so I reckon you'll be fine.
The milk will be fine and it wont 'explode'. But when you take it out the container will have expanded slightly and probably wont stand up straight so will need support (your pot bowl?) while it defrosts. Great way of having milk in for those days when you just can't get out to the shops.
You can chop or slice the peppers and freeze them, and use straight from the freezer.
Ah Julie nice one of Flinders Street Station 🚉
When freezing milk I reduce the contents of the container, a little. Never had one burst.
I have never had any problem freezing milk and I have done it for years
