Good review. I have these, and you are spot on…..I DJ weddings & events and you just can’t use them in a large room, outside or with more than about 75 people. They are not loud enough. I’m a JBL guy and I went back to my passive 15’s to be able to fill a big room. Mine have shut off when hot a few times, but I had the volume at the 3:00 position. They came back when i dialed them back a few notches. Thx for the great review.
Thanks for the review Dave. These might be perfect for my small venues for djing. I had the EVZLX 12BT’s but they ran hot. So much that I returned them to GC. I was considering the QSC CP-12’s but the price on them went up from $425 to $500. I have 2 Behringer Eurolive 12inch powered subs that don’t break the bank and have been reliable when it comes to helping out my mains. Not much info on these JBL’s so I appreciate the information. Thanks.
Hey, I’m looking for a speaker for my band for practice and small venues, which one do you think is best volume and sound quality wise? Im looking at the Jbl irx12bt and EV ZLX 12BT
As far as sound and output, I found that the JBL 612 and 712 are similar to this. Also the PRX412 output was about the same. They are all rated around 127db which really is good for most events under 100 people. If you are doing bigger events or you just want more sound go with the PRX812 which is a fantastic speaker and really what you would expect from JBL. At 135db the PRX812 can go head to head with the QSC K12, Yamaha and EV's higher priced models.
You sir are stupid most professional concerts do not exceed 125 decibels by law so 127 with the right amount of speakers would do any venue its the decibels that matter its the amount of speakers and the right positioning also
Hello, I have a question.. I want to try the set up for gain structure as you mentioned because my speakers shuts off when high volume. Can you explain to me the master volume in the mixer when you said - 10db do you mean the fader or the led in the vumeter? Thanks in advance

Nice informative review ..is the power supply universal ?, can one run this unit, on 220-230v Australian power ?
How would these compare to the Zlx-12bt and dbr12? Thanks

You kinda guys aint gotta clue
I have a pair of IRX 112BT's and unity for line input is 9 o clock , unity for mic input is 3 o clock, just FYI
I've found that they're distorting when CH1&2 is at 2or3oclock and master at 2 o'clock. Feels a bit sensitive for my liking

I would appreciate your Answer. Thank you
Please test if vocal preset on irx112 is applying a hpf 100hz on speaker main sound, that's written on manual but its not working here
The roll off might be only 6 dB per octave. So it'll still produce frequencies below 100 htz
Thanks for the review, but a speaker review without a sound demo?
Not much more money JBL Eon 710 way to go, great App EQ
do you charge this things like the bose s1 pro so you can bring them on live performance?
No batteries. They plug in. You can still use them for live performances where they have power, or a generator.
Do you find it shutting off when hot? Was thinking of using it as stage monitors with rock band
Sr. te falto la prueba de audio.
I don't see the point through a UA-cam video.
