Carol and I have been fans for years. Sissel's music never gets old, we never get tired of it. She has a voice that will be enjoyed and remembered for many years to come. Always on the look out for a new "performance".
She IS incredible, no doubt about that! I've been listening to her for 30 years but never heard this rendition. And she has the ALTO range to pull this off with that low, hauntingly beautiful side of her voice as well. Not many Soprano's can get down this low in range. You'll notice this on display when she hums the opening of Titanic. NO one could pull that off like Sissel.
"In Dreams" is my favourite Roy Orbison tune and one of my all-time favourites as well. This song is almost impossible to cover, and this cover by Sissel is the best I have heard. Bravo !!
Phenomenal! A soprano who can sing a whole song as low as that, just so she can hit that high note at the end! Someone like this should be vastly better known than some of the talent-free "performers" who are household names.
I agree. I can't quite come to terms with singers who are vastly more famous than Siss but can't sing her range on the keyboard. And can't hit a note dead middle. And yell the upper register.
Her range is absolutely incredible and she hasn't lost a step through the years. And so earthy and beautiful both inside & out. A couple of years ago the Mormon Tabernacle paid tribute to her with a standing ovation and that's the only time I ever saw her lose it.
she has TREMENDOUS range. Listen to her here: ua-cam.com/video/wvRYOLw5WGE/v-deo.html and how about the humming at the opening of the movie"Titanic"? that is absolutely haunting & yeah that is Sissel, NOT Celine Dion. I don't think she has Sissel's range. she IS incredible and I am so happy that I found her years ago.
Ok, we all no that Sissel is an incredibly Beautiful Woman, with an Incredibly Beautiful voice. But the way she says together in this song just tickles the liven daylights out of me. And I have several albums of Roy Orbison's, So it also tickles the liven daylights out of me to hear her sing this song. I wish she would sing more of his songs. thank you so much Sissel Kyrkjebo for all of your music videos. I play this one 10 or 12 times a day. More Please.
From the first moment & I heard her sing & saw her beautiful face & wonderful personality, she was my favorite singer of all time. It's just terrible I never heard of her until last year. She is the best!
wow a Big O song! she has the LOW range AND of course the HIGH range. AND she's also singing it in ENGLISH! I missed this one... I've been listening to her for at least 25 years but yeah, missed this one. What a tribute to Roy she like Roy is pure class...
Sissel speaks to the soul. Her expressive eyes and unabashed direct gaze just have us rapt, with of course those effortless soul-rending notes. As near to heaven as could be
Very few people can cover Roy's songs, this one in particular due to the power and range needed. Invariably the best covers are by female singers who have Roy's range in the higher scales! This is about the best cover I've heard of this song, especially as it's live. A handicap you have of course, is that few people can pronounce your last name!
This singer has re-educated me, a music snob, and opened me up to all sorts of song. She is not a snob nor a diva (thank goodness). I was fortunate to meet with her recently and we chatted easily. She was so gracious, easy to be with, yet has a powerful presence. I'll be sorry if and when she stops singing.
I click on anything that has her name on because I never got disappointed even once. But /like this song/ I think sometime that I do not know a song yet. So wrong! I already listened many times yet it hits me like Don Juan hits the virgin...Just to make me discover in the comments that I have been here before. Sad? NO! Fantastic!❓🉐💖❗
Sissel, at risk of offending others, I again say we to look far and wide. Would come up empty, for a voice greater than yours. The emotion you bring with, is a Yes - Yes - Yes. We continue to invite you into our Heart and mind. Thank You.
A Roy Orbison classic, with a great cover by Tom Jones in the 1960s, a wonderful song, but Sissel's version is truly wonderful. What a fabulous singer she is.
She puts her own expressive feelings behind the words of the song she obviously personally loves thereby enhancing the enjoyment of it. Most singers with good to great voices haven't learned that or simply feel their voice alone is all that matters.
I was supprised to hear how well Sissel hit the essence of the sing, the emotional affect in it. This was one of my favorites of Roy Orbison back then and still is. I know the song word by word because I played it so many times in my youth. Never thought someone could match his version, but Sissel does it here live - amazingly. I like both versions equally and I have become a fan of both performers. I love Sissels voice and stage presence that's why I youtube her more than I would play her studio recordings.
That is just OUTSTANDING. I don't think I have ever heard a better version than this. As someone else said, I had goosebumps listening to this. I don't know words to describe it; maybe heaven. Thank you, yours is a special talent.
I have loved Roy Orbison and his music for more than fifty years. I am sure he would be extremely happy with this performance of his song. I have read so many comments on Sissel’s voice and smile. I agree with all of them.
I have see for the first time this vedeo 5 min. ago, Mr Gray. The first thing that was coming on my head was exactly our Roy. How beautiful will be a duet between these 2voices! I can't imagine how beautiful will be! Pls. Allow me to take as mines your words, and accept my best regards from Lisbon 🇵🇹
@@luisfilipe1603 Hello Luis Filipe Mouta - That would indeed be lovely, a duet between these two great singers. Thank you for your kind words. Best wishes from England.
Since I first heard her voice several months ago I have watched every video I can find. From her teen years through the present, she has such a captivating voice and presence, a beauty and grace, and a fun sense of humor. This is by far my favorite. She has always been beautiful but I see her as radiant, her voice full, and although the words are sad...she seems extremely happy and at ease with life. I start my day with this video. Thanks for the upload.
Her voice is still as extraordinarily wonderful now as it was 30 years ago. Hopefully, some day she will do a world tour since some of us don't get to Norway very often.
So very beautiful! I am sure that Roy Orbison is looking down and has never been happier with ANY cover of his songs than he must be with this. Thank you Sisselfan for bringing this, along with so many other Sissel performances into our lives. There is something about her voice that triggers a switch in my brain that just leaves me in awe. She has the most beautiful musical voice I have ever heard.
Roy Orbison was a freak of nature (and I say that in a good way) I have to be honest I never listened to him until the 80s but even today I get chills when I hear him sing
TheNinjaPicker do not call anyone a “freak” unless you yourself are perfect and I have only ever heard of one human being out of the billions of us that have crawled around this rock for untold years
Well Sissel you've done it ! What a wonderful joy to listening to this song when you can bring out all the emotions of the tune by your beautifully crystal clear voice of an angel. Roy sings very well and even wrote this song, but comparing to your way of performing the song, his sounds rather mechanical.
One of the greatest un-known singers in the world. She sounds good singing anything. The world is missing out on her voice.
Certainly not unknown.
Some evenings are my Sissel evenings. I sit in my chair and listen to her sing until bedtime. She brings pleasure to me when I.hear her sing.
Norwegian people should be proud of having such a wonderful singer
I’m in love with her singing and never want her to stop. Yes, I am selfish.
BEAUTIFUL LADY , MAGNIFICENT VOICE , A TREASURE !!!!
Carol and I have been fans for years. Sissel's music never gets old, we never get tired of it. She has a voice that will be enjoyed and remembered for many years to come. Always on the look out for a new "performance".
She sings this so beautifully! Her range is 4+ octaves - like Roy Orbison, who wrote tge song. How we miss him!
She is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life, and has the voice to match. She's incredible.
I couldn’t agree with Michael Kelly anymore
I well up when I listen to her voice
And her beauty matches her voice. Unbelievable
That should be I couldn’t agree any more with Michael Kelly
Amen
She IS incredible, no doubt about that! I've been listening to her for 30 years but never heard this rendition. And she has the ALTO range to pull this off with that low, hauntingly beautiful side of her voice as well. Not many Soprano's can get down this low in range. You'll notice this on display when she hums the opening of Titanic. NO one could pull that off like Sissel.
Then you haven't seen the young Anita Ekberg or heard Karen Carpenter.
What a performance. Watch it everyday.
She defies nature, as she ages her voice maintains it's magnificence and she becomes more beautiful.
"In Dreams" is my favourite Roy Orbison tune and one of my all-time favourites as well. This song is almost impossible to cover, and this cover by Sissel is the best I have heard. Bravo !!

I know right!

She, with that voice, could sing the phone book and sound fantastic. What a talent.
Ok, we all no that Sissel is an incredibly Beautiful Woman, with an Incredibly Beautiful voice. But the way she says together in this song just tickles the liven daylights out of me. Sissel can do justice to any song that was ever transposed!!
Not only beautiful, but what a voice.
From the first moment & I heard her sing & saw her beautiful face & wonderful personality, she was my favorite singer of all time. It's just terrible I never heard of her until last year. She is the best!
Sister makes the composition her own. BRAVO
wow a Big O song! she has the LOW range AND of course the HIGH range. AND she's also singing it in ENGLISH! I missed this one... I've been listening to her for at least 25 years but yeah, missed this one. What a tribute to Roy she like Roy is pure class...

No one lays it on the audience quite like Sissel. She's amazing.

she is absolutly amazing i have loved to see and hear Sissel singing for about 15 years and she just gets better wow
A Roy Orbison classic, with a great cover by Tom Jones in the 1960s, a wonderful song, but Sissel's version is truly wonderful. What a fabulous singer she is.
I'm just listening to Sissel. It's a nice feeling to notice a beautiful voice late.
Exquisite! Most Extraordinary! Sissel in an International Treasure! Love to all from rural Mississippi, USA!
She always knows just how to deliver each song to perfection.
roy orbison would be proud to know sissel was singing his song with such passion
I ran all the way home Roy obinson
Her buildup in this song is just perfection... especially up to 1:49 and onward... what a voice!
She puts her own expressive feelings behind the words of the song she obviously personally loves thereby enhancing the enjoyment of it. Most singers with good to great voices haven't learned that or simply feel their voice alone is all that matters.
She does a very good job covering the song of the icon rock and roll star, Roy Orbison
An amazing rendition! I had goosebumps from her angelic voice
Great rendition from a beautiful woman❤❤
Very but as fantastic as Roy Orbison. That's a huge compliment.
Love this rendition of Roy Orbison's classic! Thanx!
What a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song by a beautiful woman.

I don’t think Sissel can sing any song that doesn’t come from her soul amazing
Wonderful Sissel
Thank you
Fantastic! 🎸🥁🎷🎙🎼👍👍👍💖
Really love this. Sissel did it beautifully!
Una bella voce che coglie tutta la dolcezza del brano di Roy. Dolcissimo pure l'accompagnamento orchestrale. Grazie

That is just OUTSTANDING. I don't think I have ever heard a better version than this. As someone else said, I had goosebumps listening to this. I don't know words to describe it; maybe heaven. Thank you, yours is a special talent.
It always makes me shiver, when she goes up with her voice at "... just before the dawn...".
Beautiful !
I have loved Roy Orbison and his music for more than fifty years. I am sure he would be extremely happy with this performance of his song.

Great rendition of a Roy Orbison song. Very nice!

Lovely Sissel!!!

WRONG!!!! Sissel is a great singer. Roy was a great musician. It's like the difference between a piano and a composer.
TheNinjaPicker do not call anyone a “freak” unless you yourself are perfect and I have only ever heard of one human being out of the billions of us that have crawled around this rock for untold years
....that was alleged to be perfect.
there is NO “good way” to call a fellow human being a freak.
That is the most amazing cover of a Roy Orbison song. Ever.
WOW! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Thanks
sisselfan.

Quase todos os dias vejo esta lindesa e escuto sua voz lmaravilhosa.
I love her belty register here and the easy top too!
Fantastisk sang fra favoritt sangerinne min!
Magnifique chanteuse une voix tout en douceur et qu'elle interprétation de cette chanson de Orbison !!!
