Can never go wrong with a long run, ever.
I see you've never had shin splints
That's not a workout
@@mhhighlights7252sure it is.
Long run is probably the least necessary workout for most people
@@nc8186 but it’s still good cause it trains your body to run far
I love a good 4 mile tempo. I love how you guys make every workout and run so interesting, this is by far my favorite running channel!!!😊
mile repeats are my favorite because you can test your fitness, and it’s a solid workout to get better in. I would never run this workout alone though, it’s a mental battle and having someone to push with you makes it easier and enjoyable.
Gotta love those solo long runs when its just you and the sound of the pavement
Pavement is the worst for you joints, increases recovery time due to the unnatural pounding on a hard surface, and significantly increases the chances of getting long term serious injuries.
Dirt road and even better grass is the way to go. I actually do most of my mileage barefoot on grass and I train everyday (7 months), recover well, and stay injury free.
@@TheRealBrayoTv feel like that’s a complete myth- it’s the form that kills us
@@BowenMa01 its a combination of both
25 minute tempo workouts are my favorite because it is a real confidence booster when you can feel how much you have improved.
Nothing can beat a 25 min tempo with boys on an xc course 😮💨
Favorite workout is 5x3 sets of 2ks at triple double threshold pace/5k pace plus 35.8 seconds, with 200 jog recovery between reps and lactate testing between sets. Goal is to not let lactate go over 4.0 and adjusting pace if needed. Heart rate is kept at no more than 165bpm and effort is kept to a minimum by maximizing efficiency.
Afterwards, getting in a good 10k of jogging at 3:45-3:50 pace per Kilometer to flush the lactate out of the system, followed by 10k in the afternoon to increase volume without inducing fatigue.
A new era of L&L starts here. Can’t wait!
i love doing ladders like 100 then 200 300 400 500 600 700 800 then back down that’s my favorite cross country workout that and 1k or like repeats of those kind
Something about 2min hill repeats always gets me hype
My favourite XC workout would be Fartlek training as it effectively improves my fitness and can be a lot of fun. This workout allows me to mix in faster-paced intervals with slower recovery periods, making it an amazing workout for building speed and endurance. Lex and Leo's videos never disappoint as it perfectly captures the essence of their dedication and teamwork
favorite xc workout has to be backhill repeats at van cortlandt park in the Bronx because it's a very challenging climb, but then you get to go downhill like you're on a roller coaster.
My favorite cross country workout has got to be either a long fartlek, or a hard progression long run. The thing that makes the progression long run so nice is that you start off semi relaxed but the progression feels natural. It also helps to have awesome teammates around.
Favorite workout is definitely 10x 1k w 90 seconds active rest 8x200 w 200 jog between
My favorite workout I’ve done so far has been 6x1k w/90 sec rest because coming into it as a mid distance runner I can still hang on with my team and have enough in me to finish faster and not feeling fatigued which is nice and a happy medium! Anything longer than 1k reps feels too long for me! Anyways great video l&l hope Lex recovers fast from the injury :D
Hill repeats, 20 × 30 sec, recovery jog downwards, hills make you strong!
First things first great job guys on producing entertaining content that help motivate others to be better, and second things second, my favorite cross country workout is 400 repeats because i like the way everything is so fast paced and it has really helped me with my speed and endurance
Kenyan hills for 45 min to an hour...hills separate the boys from the men. Just saying 😌
Dreamy
My favorite workout for our cross country involves doing 2 minutes at an easy pace, followed by 2 minutes at our mile pace for 4 miles. While it may not be an extreme workout, it is my favorite. Keep up the hard work, and I can't wait for the new era of L&L.
My favorite xc workout are long hills. Like 10x3min hills but not to steep on trail or grass.
Definitely long run!
With music
Fr bro
My favorite xc workout has to be 5XMile @ Threshold with 60-90 second rest
Can never go wrong with 12-16*400m repeats 😵💫
favorit workout is the fartlek. love the vids gonna start creating my own vids becuase your vids are so sick.
Favorite workout gotta be 8x1k with 60sec rest between reps. It honestly just such a confidence booster for how you feel about your fitness. Vids never disappoint 🔥🔥
Best workouts are long runs with tempo in the middle so something like7 out then some kind of Fartlek followed by an easy 7 km.
Mile repeats, gradually increasing pace each rep. Starts okay but becomes brutal by the end. Feels good to put in a solid workout😎
Nothing beats ripping kilometers repeats following the golf cart blaring teenage girl music🎵
Favorite workouts are definitely mile repeats and progression runs! Loving this series!
I mean a progressive long run with a group of guys you get along with is always fun. 😮
My favorite cross country workout is definitely 8x1k around a grass field with a minute rest. Definitely a tough one, but once you get in the zone and accept the pain it’s the best!
The classic
Love a cutdown with 2 mi WU then 20 sec progression down to tempoish pace
My favorite workout that my cross country team needs to run is the hills behind the school-we call it the wall. It is a very tough hill repeats workout but ever since my coach started making us do it i went from dying after every hill to being able to power through every hill. Thanks L&L for inspiring me to run fast
my favorite workouts gotta be 400 repeats at a little faster than race pace
Favorite workout is mile repeats at threshold pace w a minute rest between
Best workout is 20 x 100m up a huge hill with the boys:)
unpopular opinion but i like 400m repeats on the track 😅 my team would go into the room in the bleachers and play music on the the loud speakers which was so much fun. usually 14-16 reps with 1 1/2 min rest in between is my favorite.
Favorite workout has to be 10x400. Love the vids!
best workout is definetly 10x400 later in the season
My favorite workout has to be 400 and 200 meter repeats
My favorite workout is calleb arb 800s. It's actually only 700m, but with the big hill in the middle of the loop, it equals out to an 800 time.
I really enjoy mile repeats, with the first half being uphill and the second half being downhill!
my favorite workout too!!!
My favorite workouts is definitely mile repeats.
My favorite workout it’s 800s at at race pace ! It’s a good workout !
HEY LEO AND LEX!!! I love your videos and I just started my first XC season in High school last week, it. was sooo amazing!!! My favorite work out in the XC is probably the Saturday Long run at Snowcreek park the trails there is super fun although the uphills were tough, the steep downhills make up for it!!!!!!
Best workout 4x1 mile with 60 second rest
Favorite workout is a 2-3 mile tempo on the track with 3x6 150m sprints afterward. I love it so much
Favorite workout is definitely hill repeats
My favorite workouts are any amount of 800 reps
My favorite XC workout is a nice long run
love running solo long runs, just me and so much peace. good luck to both of you at stanford this year!
Ladder workout 10k,8k, 5k, 3k, 1k, 3k, 5k, 8k, 10k + 24x 800 add ons Those are my workouts to tune up right before a race At PR effort
10 mile cooldown?
@@JacobOrta-w7c yeah 8-10 mile cool down depending how i feel after the work out
favorite workout is definitely 1k repeats
One of my favourites is the 1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2,1 minutes on the grass with the first and last reps starting with a sprint and finishing with one too.
my favorite workout has to be a ladder speedwork. it feels hard during the workout but you can definitely feel the benefits.
Favorite workout gotta be mile repeats
Cant go wrong with a long slow run with da bois
Ngl 400m repeats are my personal fav!
4x3 on 1 off at @ tempo, 4x2 on 2 off @ 5k, and 4x1 on 3 off as fast as possible. One you finish the workout, you feel like an absolute god
its gotta be the mile reps, such a good time!
3 miles tempo followed by 10x 30 secs sprint 1 min jog. Nothing beats speed work🔥🔥
3 x 200m with full recovery
I love 1000s with short rest with 5 to 7 reps
I love doing 1k repeats with elevation. Helps me a ton for when I go out and race
Probably a 30m tempo on a great local hilly course, it’s the feeling at the end that’s great.
I like an Ethiopian run. Similar to an Indian run. You get about 5 people and you run a half mile loop all in single file at about 75% race pace. The person in front runs leaves the group and runs around the loop until he catches up with the tail end of the main group. It is a great run for endurance mixed with a hard, fast tempo workout. This is finished when everyone has completed the tempo portion 1 or two or three times depending on the fitness level of the runners.
Pace workouts, 800s or 1000s training race pace has to be the best. If you run it well it gives a lot of confidence knowing where you’re at going into races
Honestly some nice mile repeats, it’s a great workout and it’s fun, u get to test your fitness, and we do them on a rail trail which is always fun!!
I love race day and I like tempo
My favorite workout for xc by far is a good 51min fartlek… 1:00 HARD, 1:00 easy
2:00 HARD, 2:00 easy
3:00 HARD, 3:00 easy
4:00 HARD, 4:00 easy
5:00 HARD, 5:00 easy
4:00 HARD, 4:00 easy
3:00 HARD, 3:00 easy
2:00 HARD, 2:00 easy
1:00 HARD, 1:00 easy
One of my favorite workouts was 1200 meter hill repeats x 5 because they were challenging on my legs and my cardiovascular endurance at the same time
Any faster paced track workouts are my favorite. For example, 8x300m @ mile pace w/ 100m jog, or 6x200 @ 800m pace. Not that they're all I do, I just find them exhilarating.
Ngl, I love a good quick workout, especially like 16x400 with some fast 200s at the end. I always feel quick when I do this workout and it’s refreshing once you finish.
favorite xc workout- 8x1k @3:00, w 200m jog rest, followed by a 5min rest (switch to spikes) then 4x400 @61-62 secs with 60secs recovery
Favorite Workout: 2x 2-mile, 1x 1-mile, 2x 800, 4x 400, 5k race pace dialed to 1-mile race pace with half time of running for rest.
ladders going up from 400 to 1600 then back down to 400 (so 4, 8, 12, 16, 12, 8, 4) are my favorite bc it gets you used to running faster paces when you're already tired
personally I love 6xK@5k pace with rest = run time and then 3-4x200 afterward running through the different pace changes.
(Early in season) 8-10x600 meter hilly grass loops at park @ approx 5k cc race efforts with short 1-1:30 min reco jog back down to the start. Warm/down to and from. Go Tonka CC!
My favorite is the Michigan really shows where you are at (1600, 1600 tempo, 1200, 1600 tempo, 800, 1600 tempo, 400 all out)
My fav workout has to be mile repeats with half the rest and 4-6 reps of this
We have a friendly competition workout we do that consists of 1 mile warmup, 6x400m hills at race pace, 1 mile jog for rest, 5x800m grass reps at race pace with 10 push up and 20 sit ups rest between each 800m, then another mile of easy jogging for rest, then 4x4 stairs with a 200m sprint between each (no Rest), then we one more mile of easy jogging for rest, followed by 4x100m sprints and 50 reps of 6 different core workouts to finish. ( we split our team into 3 different teams for this workout, and the first team to finish all of it gets first pick of the ice cream after, lol). this is a very mentally challenging and team building workout that gets us ready to start racing season off strong!!
Got to love a long 10 mile tempo
My favorite workout is definitely 1 mile, 2 800, 12 400, and 8 200. My coach nicknamed this come to Jesus and whenever we hear him mention this our whole team gets scared, but after the workout you feel great. Each rep is all out btw
my fav xc workout is Kenyan Bus! We do it every season with the whole team and its super fun having 20+ guys out on the track running. It's 25 laps at 72-75 per 400, and someone has to be on the track at all times!
Just remember the principals of distance running... Caffeine, shoes, etc. are just adjuncts. They didn't get you to where you're at. Smart training did. Don't forget.
Repeat 800s is one of the hardest workouts i’ve ever done- too long to be a sprint but fast enough to feel the lactic really bad- still a favorite tho
my favorite workout is 3x4 hills with increasing time per set. first one at 10-15 seconds, second at 15-25 seconds, third at 25-35 seconds. all out for each rep
Can't go wrong with 5-6 x 5:00 threshold, 1 minute rest/jog followed by 4 x 30 seconds strides with 1 min off. Perfect for the 5k to 10k distances!
Great stuff. For giveaway. When I was in high school (in the early 80s!) fartlek was our go to cross country workout. For our coach that meant alternating running 50 seconds fast and 20 seconds slow. It was brutal.
8-10 x .5mi hill reps are my go to xc workout
(please alexio and emilio young i need this🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺😘)
idk if lots of teams do it but the Michigan. (1 mile hard on track, 1 mile tempo, 1200 hard, 1 mile tempo, 800 hard, 1 mile tempo, 400 hard) 2-3 min rest
Favorite XC workout: 4k @ tempo; 3k @ threshold; 2k @ 10k race pace; 1k @ 5k race pace (3 minute jog recovery)
Favorite workout is probably 12x400 @ 5k pace with 90 seconds rest.
My favorite workout for xc would just be long tempos. I like the feeling of long tempos, they’re the perfect mix of comfortable yet slightly uncomfortable 🙌!
My favorite xc workout is 1 mile 4:50-5 minute pace then 4x400m at 70-72 seconds and finished off with a last mile as fast as your able to push it. (With resting ofc)
Best I’ve done is a 5k with 7 mins rest, then 2x mile with 4 mins rest. Early summer workout could probably change up the distances for higher mileage
Personally, my coach’s stable workout is one we call “Hills and 8’s” where we run 2 x ~.25 mile hill and then do 2x 800m and we do about 2-3 sets of that with the rest being either the jog back to the bottom of the hill, going to the track, or a 400m rest
Favorite cross country workout is the Michigan. Hard hill effort followed by 1k at race pace. Simulates those hard hills unique to cross country.
Weird workout but my favorite: 10 minutes hard, 5 min sitting, mile, 5 minutes sitting, mile. Sounds weird but its awesome for lactic training!
My favorite workout is prob 1200s just bc of how much they help you judge your fitness, it's like stretching an 800 and they're always so hard but it feels really good after like you've improved so much since the last time you did them
