FIXING THE FAULTS OF MY NEW VARIS HOOD!

- In this video I show you guys the unboxing of my new Varis carbon fiber hood for the GR Yaris, and install it on the car. My dad and I also tried to fit the hood dampers that we originally onto this carbon fiber hood. Without the hood dampers, you'll have to end up using a ghetto stick that Varis has provided as your hood stand which is a total hassle. Varis also provided silver grills for the hood vents but we had a better idea on how to execute a cleaner look, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the vlog!

Maybe a black marker to colour in the silver bendy catches so when you open the bonnet they don't stand out from the under side.

Isn’t the original grmn hood way more expensive than the varis one? Do you have a price estimate?
Yeah the GRMN hood is $$$$$$. Settled for the Varis one as it's still proven functional, used also in the Super Taikyu Endurance races.
@@FranzGaw I really want to get the Varis hood now but am put off a bit by the hood stand. I know you have the hood dampers but can the hood stand be attached somewhere? Or is it basically just a stick that you have to carry around in the car? Kinda crap for a hood that is 250kyen!!
Do you guys know the weight difference of the two hoods?
stock hood is 6.1kg. The Varis hood + the hood stand and rain guard is 3.9kg.

I got mine but dont know if I want to partially paint with a black car. Did you get yours re clearcoated?
Its clear coated already from Varis. I had it coated with a carbon composite coating to protect it
@@FranzGaw Hey Franz, I'm installing the maroya dampers with the varis bonnet. Did you have to use longer bolts?
No need for longer bolts
