What a beautiful clock of GB I have two Gustav Becket P54 wall clocks that are Wesminster with beautiful chimes, they are my favourites.Jim from Australia.
I love every one of these clock videos. All the chimes are beautiful in their own way, especially that mantle clock. I especially like hearing them all go off at once. All that ringing. Pret-ty.
The way autocorrect works is very simple. The notch in the count wheel for the chime on the hour is deeper than the rest of the notches. So the motion works can’t raise the pin out of the notch and unlock the chime train until the minute hand reaches twelve.
I have the same clock, its really nice, I had it serviced last year and also the casing restored. It cost a lot of money to have it done but the end result it is now in perfect condition so it can be passed down the family line. I live in a victorian house and it looks stunning
great video, I have a duel Westminster and whittington chime too identical to this one from the 1930s, mine has a nice hour stike, how my rods does this one chime when its striking the hour? mine stikes 3 rods and sounds really nice. I love these antique clocks they sound lovely, not many folk appreciate them these days different times I guess, I'm thankful my father had a great interest in clocks when he was alive which he passed on to me, as a little girl I always used to be fascinated by what dad brought home, those tiny hammers playing church bell like sounds, now old enough to really appreciate them and repair them.
Hi, I have inherited my grandparents HAC wall Clock, a 3/4 chime westminster, its over 100 years old, and I had it serviced and it cost a fortune to have it done, but it was worth it, I was advised never to wind the clock hands back as it can damage the movement. If we go on holiday I stop the clock on the hour and then restart it later at the same time it stopped,
Yes, my one does strikes on just one rod. On the dial is clearly GB, below the 12. After about the 1920s, they were bought over by Junghans and the quality decreased. I have a dual chime GB which needs restored and overhauled, although it does work. You've got some really nice clocks there. The sonority and deep chime sound of your friend's clock is just fabulous! Thanks for sharing.
Wasn't this clock case ever big enough to install an even longer hour chiming rod than the neighbour rod which chimes the deepest sound of the quarters? Greetings from Gustav-Becker-Land!
Hi there Kristian, sorry the spelling might be wrong, love the video. Just got a manntle clock and I have no idea who the maker is. Just posted a vid on youtube of it and it is called My mantle clock but maker unknown. Take a look and see if you have any idea of it.
Hi Its a HAC, as it has the arrows on the clock face. Also the chime sequence is vibrant so its silver chime rods, Also winding a clock backwards is not advised
Beautiful, absolutely BEAUTIFUL sounding chimes of this magnificent antique clock!!

So, definitely Gustav Becker. My one has wire hammer lifts also. Then you get chain lifts which I think are supposed to be even better.
If you turn the hands backwards through the hour then it will strike the hour. If you do that often then you can damage it. It is a Gustav Becker BTW.
It has a gustav Becker label on it lmao
Some clocks are able to be set back.
Ładny zegar i przepięknie bije.
Beautiful clock I wish I could have one of these I love its the actual Gustav becker!

I Love that Clock!
That’s 100% a Gustav. There are other vids of ones with the exact same movement that are branded as such.
Fine video . !!!👍👍👍👌👌
As far as the barrel sticking, that probably just means it needs a cleaning and an oiling.
Just beautiful i love
