- Enjoy this Former World Record Speedrun of the PS1 classic MediEvil!
In this Any% Speedrun we must reach the end of the game and defeat Zarok - as fast as possible.
new WR with the tough ~frame perfect~ dragonfire gate skip (DGS).
this skips:
1. obtaining the dragon gems and dragon armour entirely
2. saves 15 minutes
3. no more Asylum Grounds skip
it was originally found by crash41596, and the method to make it possible in realtime was found by me.
there is also the new speed glitch. it works similarly to MediEvil 2's speed glitch. until 2020 it had not been found.
i could save 20s in Gallows Gauntlet and 20s vs Zarok for a perfect run. i consider this run to be good enough.

The nostalgia kicking in hard with the Stained Glass demon.
Best boss fight ever imo. The shrieks the Demon makes before shattering into a million pieces will always stick with me. And they always sound different too!

Hm, I noticed that in the Mausoleum, the imp thieves don't spawn where they are supposed to. Is that because you're not holding a sword or any other weapon besides your arm?
that's it, if you're using hand or dragon armor the imp thieves dont spawn. That's why you must use any other weapon in entrance hall in order to get the chalice
I wanted to start speedrunning, amd this game is one of the many that makes me interested in doing so. Any tips from the master?

As for the parts you mentioned, what I did is called level looping. I abuse the inventory to fall in a hole without dying, and then I can move in the void. Eventually I fall so far I reappear at the top of the level, and I continue falling, moving so that I land at the exit to the level

and what did you do at Zarok's Lair?
i open the inventory to fall past death barriers. when i reach the bottom of the level i continue falling from the top. i directed myself to the exit trigger.
in zarok's lair i opened the inventory to stall the cutscene, preventing half the enemy soldiers from spawning, causing me to win automatically and faster
