Thanks everyone for the kind words. It's difficult to not get a bit of impostor syndrome reading through some of the comments, but I'm happy the Minecraft videos over the years were enjoyable to many of you. I'm excited to possibly try some new things in the future. In the meantime I'm still going to try not to die immediately in the hardcore series O_O

Dont downplay your impact on the minecraft youtube community. 13 years consistently making high quality content while having an incredibly likeable personality, never having any negative scandals, never having to do anything vulgar to be entertaining and thus having a more broad and accepting community than is the norm with youtubers nowadays. In my eyes, easily top 3 minecraft youtuber all time
Being 21 now and thinking back to when I started watching you 12 years ago is crazy for me to even wrap my head around. Thank you for being part of my childhood
makes sense that you would know the feeling. You've also been doing MC content for a long time. I hope both you and Jordan find a way to keep going with stuff you enjoy.
YOU ROCK MAN YOU ARE A LEGEND I look forward to seeing where you go in the future you’ve made so many peoples childhood and whatever you do next will be great to us as long as it’s right for you
BROOO i used to watch you all the time as a kid. i didn't even remember you until i saw this comment. hope your channel is still doing well and good luck.
Dude, you've done a lot. Enough, many would say. You deserve a chance to rest and enjoy your life. You built a music brand, a youtube channel, an animation studio... you're good, bro. Take a rest.
It’s crazy to see that this will be the end of the Minecraft era on this channel, I started watching you when I was 7 years old (I’m 20 now) and while I may not have seen every single video you have put out or in all honesty in recent years any of your videos I never stopped being a subscriber to you and I still will always be here. We love you Jordan ❤️ and we are happy with whatever decision you make
The end of an era, you were the last true honest survivor of what our generation grew up on. I have watched you since I was a true child and now as a fulltime firefighter I get to watch you retire peacefully. I have continued to watch and keep up with you and I have never been let down by what you do and have done. Thank you CaptainSparklez for what you brought to our generation and hopefully what you'll continue to bring to the next. From the OG call of duty content to now, we thank you.
Facts. Almost all of the mincraft youtubers I watched back in the day had some kind of massive scandal, except Captain Sparklez. It's bittersweet to see the minecraft content (except live streams) end, but I'm still glad to continue watching
@@StarryEyedReadsDantdm is one hundred percent an exception. @Blockkaptin77 I never really watched DanTDM. I occasionally watched his videos but only if they popped up in my feed. However PopularMMOs, SkyDoesMinecraft, Deadlox, Bashurverse, etc were among my favorites, and most (if not all) are actual criminals now
@@StarryEyedReads I only really feel bad for popularmmos because its not his fault he fell off, relationships end, and sadly for him the channel hinged on their relationship
Guys he's still posting Minecraft on CaptainSparklez2 he literally says this in the video...everybody is acting like he's never playing Minecraft again. I don't know why peeps are getting upset?
You're the first Minecraft channel I watched and you're one of the reasons I have a career today. Thank you so much and good luck in the future Jordan. Take some rest, you deserve it.
Captain, I started watching your content in middle school, I'm now 25. What an incredible community you've built and maintained. It's been a hell of a run. Godspeed.
You’ve left an amazing, blocky legacy over this last decade. Though it might not seem like it on the numbers front, you’ve left an insane impact on a great many people, and have woven yourself into the fabric of Minecraft’s culture. I was 10 when I first saw your videos. I’m 19 now, and on my way into the Air Force. Through some really turbulent years, your content has been a rock on which I could fall back on every single time. It’s been one hell of a run, dude. Thanks for being my childhood.
I was 12 and now I’m 24 you were a highlight in my life man. Never had that many friends in my middle school years but I remember coming home lonely opening up my computer and see you upload a new video and my mood would automatically change. Thank you for everything.
One of the few MC UA-camrs who still came out to be legit. Stampy retired a few months back, and his reason was similar to yours: Audience had grown up with you guys, can't do the same thing forever, gotta move on to a new chapter in life. These are all very understandable, and we have only so much time in our life. I'm glad to have come across a content creator such as yourself Cap, we will continue to support you until you truly retire 😎
Spooklez will still be making videos of some kind when our kids are grown. Seriously I'm 22, about to propose, my best friend ever just had his second kid earlier this year, spooklez may raise our kids just as he's raised us and I think the world will be better for it.
You’ve always been my favorite Minecraft UA-camr because, despite staying family-friendly for the most part, you never pandered to kids. You always seemed like you were just being yourself and you weren’t trying to overly hype up everything all the time, and I always enjoyed that. Even though I enjoy your Minecraft content, I’m also excited to see what you do in the future. Thanks for being my favorite Minecraft UA-camr.
I am 22 now and I still remember when I was young, entire classes of kids singing your songs, talking about your videos like the lets plays and even now I can talk to any of my friends about CaptainSparklez and they have nothing but respect. You were a big part of millions of lives including mine, you deserve everything you have and more.
I still hold on to the fact that you were the most drama free Minecraft UA-camr to come out of this community. The most wholesome guy I've watched and I can't wait to see where you go from here.
As Technoblade once said, "One day, we'll look back at where we started, and be amazed by how far we've come." I am glad you are proud of your creation, and have been honored to have been a part of this journey. I hope your future is as joyful as the past 13 years! You have done so much for the Minecraft community. Thanks again for all of your work, -Alt-Key
You were such an inspiration to me as a kid, I was obsessed with your survivor series! I even named my cat after you, Captain! I also still have those signed usher posters you made years ago with the shirts still on my wall! I hope you have amazing luck going forward in your life and online! Much love 🥰
We all grow older, you have made the childhood of many people full of excitement and wonder. All your core fanbase is older now and we still are here to support the channel no matter what. Thank you for your content and not stopping completely.
I just finished watching MatPat's retirement video and came to watch this. Thank you for being a part of everyone's happy memories. Legends never die. 🖤
"we grew up together" is I think the most important part. We grew, we changed, and that's okay. No matter what direction we choose to travel in the future, the impact you had on our lives won't go away. Thank you for 13 years of memories, Captain. Excited to see where the future takes you.
You've been an absolute staple in my days since I was a mere child in middle school. Now, I've served 7 years in the military and spent 3 years doing software development and AI engineering and have not skipped a day watching one of your videos. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Dude, I've watched you my whole life, I've seen the whole story. You say you were never the biggest minecraft channel, which to some extent is true, but you are by FAR the most influential minecraft channel. You almost single handedly formed the way minecraft youtube evolved and stayed with it for 13 years! There is no way you can downplay yourself like that. It doesn't matter how many views you get in this regard, you were one of the first, and you even got your name and quotes in the official handbooks! Thank you for so many years!
I was 14, living at my parents house, when I found CaptainSparklez. Now I'm 27, I'm married, I have my own home, and more on the way...wow life has changed.
I’ve watched you since I was 12, now I’m 22. I’ve seen you since I was a teenager and now an adult. It’s heartbreaking but at the same time gladdening that you take decisions that are better for you and the channel. I feel it’s a goodbye to a friend, although that’s not true. I’m sure this pivot will definitely be for the best and you’ll do EVEN better. I will be sailing with you on this adventure and to the end, Captain! Gerry would be proud of you man… See you on the last let’s play!!
I grew up watching your videos. As an expat in a non-English speaking country, I found your videos to be one reason I could keep speaking English. I still remember my dad setting up my Minecraft account on my birthday and listening to your videos as I built a house out of cobblestones. I'm now much older, training to become a doctor, and surrounded by wonderful people, but I still come back to Minecraft whenever I need some rest. I can't thank you enough for creating a safe and fun place for millions of people. I grew out of watching let's Plays and Minecraft, but wherever you go and whatever you do, I'm sure many people including me thank you deep in their hearts.
You’re still growing as a channel and as a person. Don’t let the pressure of staying the same keep you from doing what you wish with this channel. People change, content changes, and that’s okay.
I am 23 now and I have been through every single year, day , and moment of your videos and id like to say how much of a pleasure its been through the years. The amount of nostalgia I get from watching your videos remembering the days I got home from elementary school excited to see your new uploads brings more that just a tear to my eyes. Youve made tough times easier and good times even better. Youve made the most of the time you had creating minecraft videos making every moment count not just for you but for the community and friends around you so for that theres not enough thanks in the world. Thank you for being apart me and everyone elses lives.
While I have not paid close attention to the content in many years I've never unsubscribed. You were the first UA-camr I ever felt a connection with when I was 12 years old. I'm a 24 year old man now. End of an era. Thanks Captain.
wow. Your Super Modded Survival series quite literally was the biggest spark of inspiration to begin my own youtube channel... If it weren't for you, I would've never had my dream of becoming a content creator. Thank you for being quite literally the biggest and most crucial inspiration for me. I will continue to support you in anything you do!
You're the only Minecraft UA-camr who's been around as long as you have who's stayed true to themselves. I think all of your fans can say they enjoy watching you for who you truly are! I remember when I was 11 or 12, I had tickets to GameVid Expo in Atlanta. You were going to be there along with SethBling and some others. I was so excited to meet you, but unfortunately you fell ill last minute and weren't able to make it. I have fond memories of watching you growing up now (I'm 22 now... that's crazy!) Love you man!
Forgetting ethoslab whose pretty much been around since minecraft was a thing. Was consistent till the last year when he had family needs to tend to. Never revealed his real name or face. Still has his 2nd original world aswell.
I started watching you some 13 years ago, back when Machinima was still popping. I’ve basically modeled my gamertag after your old one, it’s crazy to one have grown into an adult and also seen the growth you’ve had as not only a creator but a person.
It's kinda surprising and a little sad to know that Captain Sparklez grew out of Minecraft content before I out grew watching his videos. It's been an amazing 13 years watching. Even though it's been 13 years it still doesn't seem long enough. It's been amazing watching you for so long and I can't wait to see you move on to your next adventure and something else to bring you the happiness you deserve. With much love and luck Captain. o7 o7 o7
You, and Stampy both in one year. I am officially an adult now. All your Minecraft stuff, ESPECIALLY the survival series’ were my childhood. Then as I started to grow up I stayed for trollcraft, pixelmon, etc. I hope you see this because you made an impact on so many people’s lives ❤
You were my favorite UA-camr for the longest time and although I stopped watching you I never forgot how happy you made me. The hours I spent with my brother and sister watching you will never be forgotten by me. Thank you so much for that
It hurts, but I’m thankful for you having given us countless childhood, teenage, and adult memories. Though it’s not the end, it feels like a “see you soon.” Love you, Cap 👨✈️
I started youtube because of you. I watched you every day after school from middle school-high school. You were my biggest inspiration, and I'm glad to say I've watched since the beginning. The days of survival games w/XrPmX13, and the OG survival series... thank you for all you've done. The modern Minecraft youtubers stand on the shoulders of Giants (like you) and we won't ever forget that! I, along with thousands of others will watch whatever you post, so don't worry about that. Good luck with whats to come, and we look forward to supporting you along the way!
@@LUCAS420BLZ, "just retiring from playing Minecraft" is a pretty massive change for a channel that has been almost exclusively Minecraft content for most of its existence. He's announcing a major and difficult decision. People just want to show their support.
Absolute legend. People talk about a lot of the OG UA-camrs, the ones that started it all, but I think *true* UA-camrs aren't mentioned. Jordan's consistency, passion, intelligence, experience, EVERYTHING about this channel (and prosdonttalkshit) deserves to be recognised. I don't know exactly how to say what I want to say. I guess I just want to praise the authenticity and commitment that has produced years and years of very well crafted (pun not intended) content. And now for the silly emotional part... I think it's important to note that I burst into tears halfway through writing this. Made me realise that I have better memories watching CaptainSparklez when I was younger than I do of my friends at the time. This channel kept me going and honestly it's probably the main reason I was alright with life despite being somewhat miserable. But they're happy tears because I'm just appreciating all that this channel has done for me. Like... it's been a central part of my life for over 10 years. I've known about the channel since its conception. It's WILD. You're a talented fucking guy.
Life changing UA-camr. Those Minecraft parody videos and Minecraft content in general were just incredible. Don’t worry Cap, we will respect this decision. We will never forget “when you ruled the land” 👑
You had a hand in raising me brother. Be happy. Even if you never made a public appearance ever again some of us would remember you forever. I'll absolutely tune in to your new non-minecraft content!
As someone who never subbed to you for whatever reason, I only found out about this when MatPat mentioned it in his retirement video. You were always that big Minecraft UA-camr I enjoy watching from time to time, but never I never truly clicked with your contents. Honestly, I'm happy to see you go out like this. Too many old Minecraft UA-camrs went out with a whimper, so I fully respect your decision to go out with a bang.
We all respect him, unfortunately no one watches him now just check his views on this channel. That's a smart move by him taking off that content since we don't watch it
Chimneyswift is fine. He doesn't do minecraft anymore and I've stopped watching, but he is scandal free to my knowledge. He was also never as big as Captain here but he's who got me playing minecraft so he will always have a spot in my heart
We don’t watch you for the games, we watch you, for you. We enjoy your company and the fun times you give us. We will support you no matter what you make. Do what your heart desires, Captain.
Just in case there weren’t enough comments - I’m now 24 and have been watching since middle school. Jerry’s tree is a core memory for me and watching videos like yours has helped me through tough times. Thank you Jardan
You know we’re not kids anymore when your favorite UA-camrs start making big decisions regarding their channels and trying to keep up with the times, content wise
@@thedankcloud840humans can live up to 70-80 in modern times, in the grand scheme of things, even 30 is young. An 18 yr old is legally an adult, but still a child if you get what I’m saying
You were never the biggest, but you were the most respected. No minecraft youtubers talked about each other the way everyone talked about you. I wonder who will be next to leave.
What's with the comments saying he was never the biggest? He was. Briefly the top of Minecraft channels, and among the top for multiple years. If you watch some of the videos tracking the subscriber count throughout the years, you can see in some of the slower, more precise ones that he was in the top 20 and even top 15 all UA-cam channels, not even gaming, for a little bit around the years 2011/2012/2013. Plus, he had the most viewed gaming-related video on the whole of UA-cam for many years. It would be wrong to downplay that.
@@777rocketeerObviously because I forgot a single sentence from the video that means that I haven't watched it at all..."clearly"...great reasoning from you there. Thanks for the timestamp, but you could have done better with the wording. Jordan unfortunately likes to minimalize his achievements, leading to some incorrect statements at times, that he's not good at this and this and such. That doesn't mean that the comments should 100% follow that despite the facts.
Thank you for everything Jordan. You were a huge part of my childhood. Had the honor of playing in a few events with you a few years ago and it was truly an amazing time.
I remember watching you back when I was 11 years old. I’m 23 now. Time flies and we don’t choose to fly with it yet it carries us away anyways. Pce man
crazy, most of us have full time jobs now, from yogscast, to sparklez, and the late, great, technoblade! As wella s many others, its been a great era indeed.
We had the honor to make 2 April fools maps to Jordan and be uploaded to the CaptainSparklez main channel and watch you complete them. (We will still make maps when the opportunity comes we didn't retire from that) but it was a journey Captain. I know MC content will still be pumped in the CaptainSparklez 2 but it will hit different for sure. I said it and I will say it again CaptainSparklez had the best MC content by far on youtube.
@@danielboyle435 We thought about doing a huge map of capturing the whole history of CaptainSparklez kind of like a play through the memories(Trollcraft - ultra moded survival etc') but we were not sure as it will take up to 2 months if not more (Kind of like asleep 2 style mc map if you remember from years ago so kind of like that story driven by Jordan memories map)
I have grown up watching your Minecraft Hunger Games series and your Hardcore tries with all your friends. Thank you for letting us grow up with you and spend 13 wonderful years experiencing minecraft in its fullest. Its only right that as we grow up we lessen our love for certain things. Heres to 13 more years with you CaptainSparklez We are with you till the END!
"We've all grown up together here" I'm in my late 20s and have been watching since I was a kid 13 years ago. The map playthroughs of the early years were my absolute favorite and I still revisit them when I'm feeling nostalgic. Thanks for letting me grow up with you, captain.
Mr. Sparklez, it's been an honor. When I first started watching your videos I was ~14 years old.... I'm 26 now, and while I've not watched your content consistently for (at least) 7 years I've still always come back to your channel just to see if you're still around and active. I've always been so happy to come back and see you hadn't changed since I first discovered you when I was first getting into minecraft, probably because I feel like I've changed so much. I haven't played minecraft in years, I graduated college in 2020, and now I work a desk job, have a salary, and no longer live with my parents..... You're content has always been a comforting nostalgia trip that I could go back down and remember the hours and hours of playing minecraft late into the night, enjoying the scenery, the music, and the simplicity of it all and sharing those experiences with my friends. But, like you, I need to be ready to move on. So thank you for the years of dedication and the - almost oddly amount - of positive impact you've had on my life.
That was beautifully said. Cheers to ours and the CaptainSparklez future. I hope that one day I'll have my own kids, we can play minecraft, and I'll show them how I first got into minecraft through a captainsparklez yt video.
13 years, huh? How the time flies. I am of the opinion that this video shows just how far you've come, and how far you've matured over the years. 11 years ago, I was watching you after coming home from middle school. 4 years ago, I graduated high school. As the times changed, you've stayed a staple, and I can't wait to see what you do next.
Maaan, whilst I haven't watched your videos for a while now you were the first youtube channel I really got into as a kid. I still go back and watch black ops 1 videos sometimes for that hit of nostalgia. All the best mate.
This video has made me realize that I have been watching your videos since I was 12. I am now a fully fledged adult at 23. While I havent kept up with most of your content over the years, I always tend to come back to it. You have brought a lot of joy over the years and i look forward to seeing what you do in the future.
Thank you Jardon, from Mianite to Hunger Games to Mineplex to Jerry to Survival. Thank you so much for this childhood that you have made for me and many others. I remember in 2013 I would watch you on my brother’s computer with him and have lots of fun and watching your videos. I’m glad the channel isn’t over, but one of the biggest part is. Cheers to 13 years. Thank you Captain, 🫡
CaptainSparklez may not have ever been the "biggest" minecraft channel on youtube, but he was DEFINITELY one of the most influential, and important to youtube as a whole. Even today I have some of the minecraft song parodies in my actual daily music playlist, and he has always been the best in my heart. I was there for Mianite all those years back and basically grew up with his minecraft content as a staple in my life. Glad you can focus those efforts onto different endeavors on this channel and hope everything continues to be great.
I came for the Minecraft but I stayed for the quality content and for a man who is a Captain. Someone who tries and does his best knowing he's got a lot of support but we are here for him not the MC boat itself. He deserves a new boat and to set sail to a new start! We support you! ^^
Been around since the beginning. 25 now and looking back you and minecraft are inseperable in my memories of childhood. The music in the background, your voice, and a warm rainy summer evening on my first computer. I look forward to following you where you go, whatever that may be.
I’ve been watching the Captain since 2012, I was 9 then, he was 20. And now I am the same age as him in 2012. That is absolutely insane to think about. It’s incredible that he has stuck to his guns for this long and has grown such a wonderful community. I will surely miss all the MC videos here after all these years but like he said, we have grown up and our interests have shifted. Good luck on your next step Captain! ❤
As much as this breaks my heart, I’m also really excited for what the future will hold. And the fact that VODs are continuing on CaptainSparklez2 brings me relief
I'm at a loss for words. This makes so much sense, and I'm happy for you for making a decision that feels right, but I'm also kind of devastated. Thank god for the second channel, because after all these years I don't know how I would deal with no captain at all. VOD viewers stay with me here
I love your content man, I know I haven't watched it in many, many years. But your survival series was the greatest thing to watch as a kid getting into minecraft. I play Minecraft every often, but the content I watch shifted from yours. I hope you switch in between more games, because I think I'd check your content out more because you have a great personality captain!
The OGs will never forget the early content that’s imprinted and the newer fans will always remember one of the best Minecraft UA-camrs. God bless the Captain

I have continued to watch and keep up with you and I have never been let down by what you do and have done. Thank you CaptainSparklez for what you brought to our generation and hopefully what you'll continue to bring to the next. From the OG call of duty content to now, we thank you.

I totally agree with you, still brings a tear to the eyes when hearing about how much all my childhood youtubers have started moving on. 😄😭
Spooklez will still be making videos of some kind when our kids are grown. Seriously I'm 22, about to propose, my best friend ever just had his second kid earlier this year, spooklez may raise our kids just as he's raised us and I think the world will be better for it.
We even have CaptainSparklez leaving minecraft before we get GTA 6

God bless the Captain
you, yogscast, dan, sky, and many more...the golden era, at least MY era of minecraft. An era I'm glad to have experienced and grew up in. I'll never forget coming home from school on a Friday to bump your music videos while mining diamonds. Thanks for everything, cap'n.
Couldn't have said it better. What a time to grow up in.
Discovered Minecraft because of you. I will always have a place for you in my heart. CaptainSparklez, you are a big part of my childhood and I would never let that go. Do what you want to do man u absolutely deserved it.
Loved all your Minecraft videos growing up. Especially the music videos that still hit so hard and be nostalgic
