    The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or "Mormons" is a sect of Christianity whose believes include spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ across the world. This results in missionary work to many nations during which time the missionaries learn the language, culture and slang of these host nations.
    The church is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah and the 300th Military Intelligence Brigade of the Utah National Guard is headquartered right down the road in Draper, UT.
    This synergy between LDS members and the U.S. Army makes for highly prized and specialized human intelligence collectors and linguists.

      I heard it said that the Roman Empire still exists in the form of Catholic Christianity. 2,000 years and still going.
      If we throw in Geo-politics and Intelligence then it goes someway to explain the lack of investigations into abuses within churches and religions. They serve a "higher purpose", global power.
      On a lighter note, have you seen The Book Of Mormon? I saw it and enjoyed it and the Mormons come across in a positive way. It didn't mention they were secret agents! :-)

    I'm ex-LDS, and active duty Air Force. I no longer practice and have no plans to ever go back for purely personal reasons. But I can confirm that the LDS church is one of if not the single most logistically impressive organizations of all time. Everything from language training to humanitarian aid they have down to a perfected science. They preform what are effectively military personnel recalls BETTER than the actual military. To explain briefly, in the event of some contingency, i.e. WW3 breaks out, military units have rosters of personnel laid out by their command structure. The base commander directs unit commanders to recall troops for action, they disseminate that instruction to the various section supervisors within their unit, the section leads disseminate to supervisors, who call individual troops, or direct those troops to call each other in a loop so the last troop in the loop calls the supervisor to confirm everyone before them was also notified. In the event of a natural disaster, LDS members are assigned to check in on other members using extenisve and careful record keeping to look after each other in a giant network, and the instant any one of them notice another needs help, they can quickly coordinate with local church leadership to deploy locally maintained humanitarian aid resources to look after that member within hours or even minutes of an incident, including anything from food and water purification to hardware like chainsaws for damage control to shelters. Their church building are ALL built with disaster ratings of all kinds in mind. Most places are zoned for specific local hazards, buildings are required to have more earthquake protection in California and tornado protection in Oklahoma, for example. LDS church buildings max out those measures across the board so they can be used as staging grounds for any disaster anywhere, if theres an earthquake in Kansas and a tornado in Colorado, LDS churches are built to withstand all but direct impacts. FEMA has frequently come to rely on LDS humanitarian aid efforts because they are so fucking fast and efficient with first response that clean up is often well under way or even done depending on severity of the incident by the time FEMA can even show up, and are able to collect a priority list and get a handle on what needs to be done, preforming what is effectively near instant reconnaissance and feedback systems.
    They've developed what is widely recognized as the single most effective language teaching course on Earth, they can establish basic, functional fluency in anyone and in any language, and even multiple in some cases in as little as a few weeks, and rarely more than three months, including notoriously complex languages like Arabic and Mandarin, which will military linguistic courses will take as long as 18 months to establish a satisfactory degree of proficiency.
    Say what you will about religion and spirituality but it cannot be denied Mormons are damn good when it comes to managing people. It's the one thing I kinda miss about the church.

    • @EssaysInTheCommentsSection
      @EssaysInTheCommentsSection Рік тому

      @Adrian didn't see a "no homo" FUCKIN GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! LMAO Obligatory jokes aside, I don't follow Christianity in any form. I don't disagree with the tenets, I disagree with the organization. I think it is presumptuous bordering on sacrilegious for mankind to interpret the will of God in behalf of others. I believe that a perfect creator logically would have made us to perfectly fulfill a purpose as we are. We know right from wrong, I don't need scriptures or clergy to tell me that, and my relationship with my creator is mine, no one has the right to dictate it to me. I don't believe that if there is an afterlife, our admission to it is predicated on our adherence to arbitrary rules, and I don't believe a infinite omnipotent creator has a need for them in the first place. I think the only way we can truly "commune" with God is through Creation, I think our purpose is hidden in reality itself and we were given our senses of curiosity and wonder and awe to motivate us to pursue those secrets. I think we're meant to learn about God through his creations, not from other people. I think our understanding and manipulation of the physical world around us is the closest we can be to godliness, and that ensuring our instinctual needs are met should fall in line with our morals. We are given empathy because we are meant to be kind. We delight in the joy of our loved ones and love itself because it is good and right. We can feel pain and sickness and exhaustion because we were not meant to engage in certain activities or partake in certain substances, and I think society as a whole is, or at least should be, fundamentally built around those feelings. Having spent a great deal of time meditating on these feelings and the relationships of my fellow man I think that once we have met our basic needs, only then can we develop spiritually, I personally have started to feel a desire to engage in a more ascetic lifestyle because I no longer value the more simple pleasures of life, and instead seek a higher understanding of the things and people around me. But i dont think that way of life is for everyone, and so I think codified doctrine enforcing any of that for anyone is actually harmful to personal growth. I think it is an induvidual process, some people aren't meant to achieve as much or are meant to achieve a much greater understanding than others. I think being mostly self sufficient and happy is more than enough for anyone on average, a good leader is nothing without followers. We all need to operate on different levels of understanding and spirituality, and I think that's hardwired into each individuals, and that it is not realistically possible for us to codify a doctrine that encompasses that more efficiently that just peacefully coexisting would.

    • @graysonsudweeks2213
      @graysonsudweeks2213 2 роки тому

      I'm sorry that UTBoH hurt you lol, especially since it's realistic fiction that took many creative liberties. It never claimed to be fact, rather being based on a real murder. Even though you call it nonsense though, much (not all) of it's historical recounting is factual. Early Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints were antagonized for very real crimes, because early on, they were a violent people. Joseph Smith historically shot first, both metaphorically and literally. He wasn't tarred and feathered for being a prophet, he was tarred and feathered for sending men on missions and marrying their wives, many underage (first hand accounts from Fanny Alger and others), and many before he even had the revelation of polygamy. Joseph Smith was ultimately killed in self defense, considering he was a fugitive who escaped jail (in jail for commanding the saints to burn down a printing press) and when the mob tried to take him back proceeded to shoot his pistol through the door, causing the mob to fire back. Mormons were ostracized for a reason, and that reason is because Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, and other early leaders weaponized them for self interest. Early mormons were kicked out of NY and Illinois for, among other things, stealing resources, arson, and more. Later in Utah, the Mountain Meadows Massacre was done entirely by Mormon forces on innocent, non-affiliated people while blaming it on the Paiutes. There are even journal entries of the early saints in Utah talking about how if someone planned to leave Utah when SLC was being settled, it wasn't uncommon to find their body a few miles into their trek with a gunshot wound.
      Even in recent history, the church has been needlessly racist, sexist, and homophobic, with many of the "refuted teachings" being buried a little bit but still ultimately written as doctrine. The church hasn't even apologized for many of these teachings, including the waiting until 1978 to waive the priesthood ban on black people despite many other religions being more inclusive much sooner. Most recently, the blatantly racist and homophobic statements of Brad Wilcox not even 2 years ago still have not been apologized for (besides Brad apologizing to the church for embarrassing them instead of apologizing to the people he hurt with his statements).
      The singular largest reason that members of the church are ostracized today still, like they have been since the organization's conception, is that the people of the church historically and still today have been an extremely intolerant and intolerable people. Other faiths are not ostracized to the same degree at all because historically (aside from Catholicism, and a few others), the church has been leagues more violent towards and objectifying of other people than most other sects of Christianity. If the church apologized for its past (which it hasn't, for any of it), and the leaders took it upon themselves to be honest and fair to all of the members of it's congregation, there wouldn't be this problem. The church's biggest enemy is itself. The public's eye only sees what the church reveals, and what it reveals is an extremely nonsensical, intolerant, and intolerable people. People still believe the members practice polygamy, because the sexist teachings still reflect a people who would probably do it. (Also polygamy is still canonically practiced in heaven anyway so they aren't entirely wrong either). The church's public perception has only been destroyed by itself. no outsiders came in and mucked up the history, or talked so poorly that an entire faith is condemned. It is bluntly the church historically and presently being at best, morally grey and unorthodox with it's restrictions on members' choices.
      You can refute anything I said, and I sort of expect you to, but before you do, please for the sake of informed consent read up on your own history. If your testimony is bulletproof and the church is as true as it claims, no single piece of media should be able to hurt it, and if that isn't the case, it's all the more reason. Try out the CES Letter, but if you're too LDS for that, you can start with the Gospel Topics Essays on the church's website. The CES Letter is more objective, as the GTEs tend to try and spin it in the most positive light it can, which is, at best, an ugly level of light, but at the end of the day, much of the history, logical fallacies, and discrepancies are covered there.
      Of course at the end of the day, what do I know? I've only lived on both sides.

It's called provident living and most would be happy to tell you how to be ready for everyday apocalypse (my term) such as storms, job loss, power loss, earthquake. I'm mormon and I'd have lessons with people all over the world. I'm actually really good friends with a Person in Poland. As a missionary you're basically soldiers of God. Making sure people get closer to him and save their souls and help them be humble. Your job is to go wherever church tells you to go and if you need to learn a new language they will teach you. Basically giving you all the tools to go out and spread the word wherever and whenever. Some come back with so much knowledge and have so much culture. I've been with the church for a long time and I've never heard of any of my friends getting attacked or killed. So us as a church know God is real cause they are happy and healthy when they come home. A missionary can only stay for a couple months at a time at one place. So usually they know a good chunk of foreign languages and knowledge.
