That Rakdos charm literally made me cry... Such a good moment. 5 color nonsense with no focus on recursion and Justin still gets screwed over with graveyard hate. RIP Parnell.
I'm feeling bad for Justin, it feels that he hasn't done much this season except get hated on. Like the rakdos charm on him instead of the recursion deck seems petty.
Honestly, it was actually the best play to make at the time. I don't think it was a bad play to charm Justin at that point when he is trying a mass recursion spell.
I would think the deck that is draining you on every players turn might be the one you nuke the graveyard, but what would I know I just win my Commander league everytime I play a reanimater deck cause no respects it and no one ever learns to just nuke them.
Shrouded Blade considering John made the play, completely decimated Justin, and won the game ultimately, I think it worked out. But what do I know, I just assessed the situation and that graveyard removal stopped at least 5 creatures from coming into play and 5 triggers from his elemental.
Jon: NO YOU CANT JUST PLAY A ONE MANA 1/1 AND STEAL FIRST BLOOD FROM ME WHEN I HAVE A THREE MANA HASTEING COMMANDER justin: Mothdust Changling go brrrrrr
1:00:43 Stephen's played counterspell (UU), pongify (U) and the big saga thing (5UU) with only 4 blue mana symbols (I think he casted the saga with colorless and a bounceland). Don't know if anyone catched it, but it felt definitely relevant
I feel like this group isnt playing the smart game but the grudge game... Like before the game starts you can tell stephen is going to be grudging against everyone. They joke about it but it makes watching these games this season and last very awkward. Stephen doesn't help the table and win favor. John uses graveyard exile not on the mass graveyard recursion deck. You can tell Justin is literally done. Jeremy looks like that guy watching a kid being beat up and smiling awkwardly. I know this will get hated on, but it just seems like the games are getting more and more petty with each new episode. Holding onto previous game grudges just makes for worse and worse future games. I really love this show and seeing it turn this way is really disheartening.
No pretty much just Steven is playing a "Grudge" game with all his pretended slights and him being "Targeted" even though Justin got absolutely REAMED by everybody this week.
@@alsaker13 I've felt this way since Season 18 started. He's been the source of too much drama and vengeance over petty grudges for me to enjoy him as a source of entertainment. He's also played 19 seasons of Commander, while I assume he's getting paid by SCG, and still asks about how APNAP works when Living Death resolves. He just doesn't care about the game anymore.
The thundercloud trigger after living end should have resolved before the abyssal gatekeeper, dealing two damage to everything, because the triggers would have entered the stack at the same time
As a very long standing fan i'm definitely finding this season in particular really hard to watch. The constant petty decisions made are making it pretty cringe and having episode after episode of Justin being hated out and essentially not getting to play is really lame.
They abandoned that when they changed to Commander vs live, since it became impossible to do, but they might remember to do it now. Kyle will be so happy if they do
So I've been team green since day one but the last two episodes he has been so unfun. To the point of me not even wanting him in the game as much as that hurts to say. And Justin. Wow. I usually laugh at his misery and he's decent at taking it well and just putting on a show but my heart broke for him. Hope he has a good game next week and that team green chills out a bit. This season has hurt lol
Have you seen the quadruple mill weeks he got from season several seasons ago, this is actually an ok season, considering some of the seasons he's gotten.
Wherever Anje would've be gone (Command Zone / Hand) Jonathan Suarez wouldn't have been able to cast it on his next turn. Reflector Mage prevents to cast spells with the same name, not from the hand.
I love this series. I have watched all the Commander Vs. as well as the Vs. Live content. Every week I come back for more magic with a little salt, but I always thoroughly enjoy it! Thank you Team for your continued efforts, and ongoing commitment to content production. It has really meant a lot to me to have this part of my life remain constant each week. Not only is it extremely entertaining, I have sharpened my own game simply through watching, and of course taking notes! Keep up the Great work, and again, I Thank you!
Also I don't know what all Stephen could've done but when Jon told him he can't respond to flipping pariah he totally could. The flip is an ability on the stack. So Stephen might've been able to save his board and hit Jon which would've killed him way earlier and SERIOUSLY changed the game
Jeremy won the last 3 games, creates an on board value engine that's locking down the board, and yet justin is still targeted.... I'd ask if yall are high but I dont think stoned people would be that petty.
I agree. Half the time Steven just over retaliates to Justin, making poor threat assessments, and Jeremy takes the lead unfocussed while getting points and twiddling thumbs. Jeremy's just been focussed on winning rather than having fun/winning. Every time someone picks on him he complains >
I think this is the only episode I skipped most of the way through after about an hour of game play. Felt bad for how much Justin was getting hosed, I probably would've just conceded after getting hit with the Rakdos Charm.
Yeah imagine someone casting rakdos charm against you and another opponent is playing shirei...obviously a lack of knowledge of certain commanders which is strange from a veteran like John
Correct me if I am wrong, but you can sacrifice during your opponent turn, and all creatures will come back at the beginning of that player's end step, right?
I would love to see Justin play mono blue. I think it would give him a serious sense of satisfaction. Or play Grimgrin so he can play zombies and just combo out and punch everyone for 21 and then counter and answers.
Worth noting: if Shirei leaves the battlefield then is returned, it's a new instance of Shirei and won't return the previously killed things. It kinda seemed like Jeremy was trying to do that when Stephen removed Shirei. Just clarifying for folks who might be confused about it.
On Magic online if you hit F6 it passes your priority on opponents turns. Because Magic Online is a pretty hard UI to navigate if you know you won't have a response F6 is a good way to help smooth out and speed up games
Am I mistaken or could Jeremy have sacked his bone shredder the turn it came it and have it come back to get another etb? also, couldn't he sack all his creatures to Ashnod's Altar on each of his opponents turns to get them to come back, getting more etb's?
So fun to watch Parnell get focused, as usual. At least he tried to keep his spirits up. If the roles were reversed with Noell, we all know how salty this game would have gotten real fast.
Jon, what are you thinking at 2:07:30 with your attackers? the threat assessment is confusing at best. You could have forced Jeremy to sac all three tokens (which don't come back) and then swing in with the mauler to either kill the commander or hit for 20. Everyone at the table is at sub 10 life except the black deck with drain strategies AND tokens for the fodder... take'm down!
Also, Justin, at 2:12:55 you criticize Steven for not swinging at Jeremy... When John just wasted his attack round to a worse degree. The Blue-Yellow alliance is strong as ever. My guess is that the point system, as usual, was a strong influence on this game leading to some weird decisions.
25:55 I know you are kinda joking but that card is actually one of the most powerful cards in my Sliver Overlord deck, stealing the best creature on the table for 3 mana is pretty good ^^ (1 mana with Zirda) It's especially good if you have ways to untap it but just by itself it always forces a removal spell because otherwise I yoink your commander and everything that's dear to your heart :D 2:30:45 Stephen really says that after this episode???
Being on #teamparnell this has been an incredibly difficult season to watch, although it perfectly illustrates why I'm on #teamparnell, because I get hated on just as much. I just want everyone playing commander to have fun, and Justin has repeatedly not been having fun and that makes me sad :(
I love Shirei! I have had my Shirei deck built for quite some time and it’s one of my personal favorites. It took Jeremy a while to actually read his Commander though. He figures out Shirei triggers every end step so he missed out on some value with his Marsh Flitter
list of names for the random deck days: gauntlet of acceptance, frisby of choise , spinner of fate, temple of the tribes, the kitchen, resonating torture, field of wonders, throne of the lazy, tree of random acess, unsystimatic plane, erratic dice rolling
May be wrong... but did Steven pay for Kiora's Best the Sea God with 5 colorless and Azorious Chancery? He wouldn't of been able to hold up Counterspell if I'm right...
It's called constructive feedback, not being salty. The amount of angst in this season compared to any other has been incredibly uncomfortable to watch and difficult to enjoy
1:40:00 Justin has played the card a hundred times, still doesnt know how it works... His triggers go on the stack last and resolve first. The Abyssal gatekeeper resolves when it's Jeremy's "turn" after Justin's trigger resolved...

Hey i understand ive faced tribal tribal many many time. This salt is normal for my playgroup.. in the end 5 colors has awnsers to everything. It is what it is
Hour and 20 in and the tiredness kicks in. Wasn't that Viscera Seer bounced by a Reflector Mage so Jeremy shouldn't have been able to cast it? Then Justin puts a counter on his Mauler from his own spell. Do wish Kyle was more of a referee as these games get hard when they go long.
Jeremy Noell! Shirei says EACH end step! You could have sacced your goblin generator guy at the end of each person's second main, and your doomblade creature and controlled more than Steven could even dream!
justin make a strong comeback next week..you can do it make a mill deck and mill everybody...i feld sorry for justin this week but the rakdos charm cracked me up. keep goin strong and stay safe. greetings from holland.
So, I don't think Steven should've been able to flicker the Kiora Saga since Flicker wisp doesn't have flash and because he missed the final counter on his saga.
How do you get rid of the graveyard not in use (Justin) while ignoring the other deck is just playing with their graveyard like it's a jungle gym (Jeremy)? Justin, you should bit the bullet, play some Mill, and show them how bad it can get.
Justin not playing a graveyard deck and still gets hosed for his graveyard.
Wasn't Jon the one complaining about helping Jeremy win, and then he Rakdos charms Justin? Nailed it.
That Rakdos charm literally made me cry... Such a good moment. 5 color nonsense with no focus on recursion and Justin still gets screwed over with graveyard hate. RIP Parnell.
I feel so bad for Justin. This was a rough game to watch
Season 19 has treated Justin the way 2020 has treated all of us 😔
Good I got graduate early
I'm feeling bad for Justin, it feels that he hasn't done much this season except get hated on. Like the rakdos charm on him instead of the recursion deck seems petty.
He would've drawn 2-3 cards from the elementals tho lol.

And somehow, he's still in second.
Jon: NO YOU CANT JUST PLAY A ONE MANA 1/1 AND STEAL FIRST BLOOD FROM ME WHEN I HAVE A THREE MANA HASTEING COMMANDER
justin: Mothdust Changling go brrrrrr
Underrated meme tbh
I love this show because the intro is exactly long enough to boil pasta.
Intro is the best part
lol the amount of knowledge that justine has on black cards is insane
also poor justin
1:00:43 Stephen's played counterspell (UU), pongify (U) and the big saga thing (5UU) with only 4 blue mana symbols (I think he casted the saga with colorless and a bounceland). Don't know if anyone catched it, but it felt definitely relevant
Not the first time he has cheated.
Don't know if it got caught but Stephen still went out with a whimper so eh
Yeah countering Shirei illegally there is really huge. If he can't do it Jeremy loses basically no tempo and can just continue with his engine.
Liked to contribute to Justin's waning morale.
Remember when Jon used Rakdos Charm on Justin instead of saving it for Jeremy?
that decision blew my mind. pretty funny though ill admit.
Remember when justin would have gained control of all lands someone controlled if that didnt happen?
Remember when he could of waited until justin had enough druids to cast that? Focusing one guy right out of the game seems a little crappy
Remember when Jon still won?
@@kobyhaigerty3157 it wasn't about jon winning or losing, it was more about justin getting completely knocked out of contention by that play.
Unreal. I hope Justin picks a real globe trotter for the fan pick episode.
The justin salt peaked at an all time high
Well at this point, I wouldn't blame him. Poor guy.
XD
38:15 "...gawd....", Justin. Just the start :)
Jeremy: *Doesn't play easy g/u(/x) value town
Jeremy: Depressed while explaining his deck.
Justin's creature type for biding was the best lol
1:07:18 A rare moment when Justin just let loose :D Priceless!

Pregante!

Clearly nukes1991 is Justin trying to curry the favor of the people.
yeah Stephen has just changed his playstyle incredibly...just super whiny lately
Dems the game buddy.
Stephen running right into the ole Wizard counter unless you pay 1 was hilarious.
I miss the random images they used to make Kyle add to the points screen
They abandoned that when they changed to Commander vs live, since it became impossible to do, but they might remember to do it now. Kyle will be so happy if they do
I just hope Justin has fun next week.
Or has his entire gameplan sabotaged and tells Jon to go friend himself.
Stephen: Does it have flying?
Jon: It's a vampire!
In the same game where Jeremy's had a Viscera Seer for nearly the whole game

Correct me if I am wrong, but you can sacrifice during your opponent turn, and all creatures will come back at the beginning of that player's end step, right?
Shirei can trigger for each player's turn yes. That's what makes it so strong.
44:49 that's why you NEVER activate the ability of flitter. but it does allow you to get man lands back like inkmoth/blinkmoth and spawning pools.
Justin should play mono blue and just counter everyone's stuff and not let them play the game lol

i feel at the end of the season for a bonus they should have a archenemy with the loser vs the rest so they can dish out some paid back
Stephen couldn't cast kiora beasts the sea God with that azorius chancery, was actually really relevant with him using 3 more blue mana after that...
This. He spent 5 blue mana when he had 4.
Justin.... this is the exact reason I'm afraid to play graveyard decks.
New subscriber....you guys are hilarious...got a new fan here
What is the "F6" card Justin put out supposed to mean? I feel like it's a reference to something, but I don't get it.
On Magic online if you hit F6 it passes your priority on opponents turns. Because Magic Online is a pretty hard UI to navigate if you know you won't have a response F6 is a good way to help smooth out and speed up games
Isnt that pass the turn/priority in Magic online?
At 1:30 Stephen should have just looped flickerwisp and Yorion for ultimate salt
Does teferis protection even work with living death? I mean he doesn't lose his permanents but he gets the ones from the yard back right?

Kamahl's hammer is deffo one of my favorite moments
Anje should cost 7 mana at 1:46:00?
Yeah when he cast it the second time from the command zone after it was dealt with by Stephen's plow he put the dice back down on 1 instead of 2.
as a fellow anje player, good win Jonathan!
re-watching this on Oct 23rd and the opening sequence Justin says, "We're still at home"
Yes, yes we are :(

Definitely forgot about this card existing! Great add.
May be wrong... but did Steven pay for Kiora's Best the Sea God with 5 colorless and Azorious Chancery? He wouldn't of been able to hold up Counterspell if I'm right...
I believe so
"Commander staple, Ameboid Changeling."
This reminds me of the unbanned episode with emrakul, braids, ETC when Justin got hurkels recalled
I have a personal Shirei deck. Its total Black Weenies. So janky but it works!
Its actually impossible for me to finish this video after the charm
1:05:20 rakdos charm play.
Gotta love the UA-cam comments pouring the salt out. You don't like, don't watch! I for one love catching my weekly dose of Commander VS :)
It's called constructive feedback, not being salty. The amount of angst in this season compared to any other has been incredibly uncomfortable to watch and difficult to enjoy
Justin at 1:26:10 you cast necrotic sliver and put a counter on your mauler but it's opponent cast a spell not player
4 minutes later he comments on it
Man its like Syr Konrad is a good card, who knew?
Also, How can i submit a deck list for next season? I got a Zur deck I want to see Justin play.
1:40:00 Justin has played the card a hundred times, still doesnt know how it works...
His triggers go on the stack last and resolve first.
The Abyssal gatekeeper resolves when it's Jeremy's "turn" after Justin's trigger resolved...
You know this match had so much salt in it.
1 hour in and I'm thinking You know what would have really messed up Jeremy's deck? Night of Soul's Betrayal, Curse of Death's Hold, Ethereal Absolution, etc.
Yes, those mess shirei decks up. Especially if you have e enough to kill shirei
Im team Jeremy but I feel so bad for Justin but im laughing so hard at that Rakdos Charm 😂😂😂
Justin what's in your purple deck box
Living death I believe happened wrong. The kill happens before the revive putting it on the stack first this would mean the etb triggers happen before that sacrifice resolves making storm giant deal 2 damage to all non giants
The continuing pronunciation of MISS AAAAAAAAAAANNJIIIIEEEE makes me laugh every time.
Also Cherie is my new favourite way of pronouncing Shirei.
Justin, I dont think that's a valid creature type...
Which in particular?
my first thought... Jesus 2hr45m
For just ONE GAME mind you...
Stephen not paying double blue for the enchanment also jon paying 5 instead of 7 after living death
Hey i understand ive faced tribal tribal many many time. This salt is normal for my playgroup.. in the end 5 colors has awnsers to everything. It is what it is
Wait, Why couldnt Stephen respond to the Voldaren flip to prevent him having to sac. I'm confused.
Flip abilities are special actions
You can’t respond to the card flipping, but you can respond to the trigger after it flips
He could have. There was a miscommunication/misunderstanding of how it works.
Poor justin
Tribal tribal has an insane amount of potential if the deck can just be tuned right
1:07:16 For the best moment of the season.
Are the ones in Jeremy's background Carcassonne and ticket to ride?😍

Mr. Parnell, I don't have Twitter but if you see this I have three decks that I can send you decklists for. Jurina Kudro, Korvold and Kenrith.
I feel like Stephen's threat assesment was awful this game.
i want to buy Jeremy's Shirt not the one hes wearing off his back but I'd like to buy my own lol , does anyone know where to buy it ?
I really don't think the clarification was needed

So, I don't think Steven should've been able to flicker the Kiora Saga since Flicker wisp doesn't have flash and because he missed the final counter on his saga.
Justin, play Elenda next week to try the new rule (also it is your style of deck)
Threat assessment in this game is all over the gaff lol
I feel like I have to comment that Jeremy has 'The Death' in his background, due to camera cropping.
Yes I know it's The Beatles
John didn't tick up the second time he cast Angie.
How do you get rid of the graveyard not in use (Justin) while ignoring the other deck is just playing with their graveyard like it's a jungle gym (Jeremy)?
Justin, you should bit the bullet, play some Mill, and show them how bad it can get.
Not saving Rakdos charm vs the shirei deck, jhon pulling a steven play.
Hi, do you record video with Grenzo, dungeon warden? I realy like him and if I am not stupid you don't record any video with him. Thanks
