In this Maya breakdown tutorial, Sophie will show her process of creating a stylized house inspired by San Fransico architecture.
After a brief overview of the modeling stages, Sophie will show some tricks on how she created the tree using MASH and the new circularize tool in Maya 2018.
Once the modeling is covered she'll move onto covering the lighting with a couple little tricks on how to get more appealing shadows using directional lights.

nice. Lately, I've been using my pull brush alot. when pressing shift it also smooths out the topology. I use it alot for organic things. When you circularized the tree it made me just want to use the brush to smooth yank it into shape.

I have been trying for a long time to make a wood texture similar to that of the house, I tried several times and without success, every time I try to add something similar, the edges end up getting messed up, if anyone has any tips and can share to be in this style I will be grateful.
