Yes, Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss take place in the same world; Hazbin focuses on the pride ring and sinners and touches the theme of redemption, while Helluva Boss takes place in the different rings of hell and we see the different classes of demons and relationships with each other.
Pentagram city is in the 1st circle of the pride ring while imp city is in the 2nd circle of the pride ring
Initially Moxxie and Blitz where ment to serve as a sort of "Team Rocket" for Hasbin Hotel, constantly trying to disrupt Charlie's plans and tempt the Hotel guests with a revenge deal.
After Vizy and Brandon Rodgers meet they decided Blitz stuggles where a great way to Explore the rest of the setting as Hasbin Hotel takes place in the Pride Ring and Vizy's lore had ot that they couldn't leave, necessitating Hell's yearly "Clensings" by Angels called Exorcists to reduce the population.
The Hellva Boss season one finale part two was put on hold because of cameos by Hasbin Hotel characters. A24 who is producing Hasbin Hotel said no to it being released. Hopefully once Hasbin Hotel starts they will relent and let Vivizy upload it.
Hasbin Hotel's cast will have some different voice actors but no characters got cut. Sir Pentious will be a hotel Guest, and Cherry Bomb will likely appear often. Also we get to see more of Angel Dust's pet mini hellhog Nugget who was friet shown in the Addict music video where Angel Dust and Cherry Bomb do a duet in the strip club then Angel returns to the Hotel to contemplate his life and is comforted by Nugget. Lastly apparently the head Exorcist Adam looks to be the show's primary antagonist, likely hating all sinners and resenting Chalie's efforts to get them into heaven.

Fun facts:
- Charlie and Alastor are both fans of musicals. Charlie's song in the opening, "Chasing Rainbows", is from the 1918 Broadway show "Oh, Look!" Later at the hotel, Alastor is humming the song "You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile" from the 1982 Little Orphan Annie musical "Annie".
- They spotted the early character designs for Blitzø and Loona are in the news audience, and there's also a silhouette that looks like Moxxie in the "Boo Section".
- In the Helluva Boss pilot, Loona is watching Charlie's song when Moxxie asks about the weight loss ad.
- There's an after credits scene, but it's not important, just a goofy little joke.
In Helluva Boss episode 2 Loo Loo Land, the RoboFizz actually starts his song off with Charlie’s song “I have a dream, I wish to tell” which is funny since Loo Loo Land is a rip off of Lucifer’s Lu Lu World

Okay, Demons like the Imps or Goesha are specific species, so they tend to look, well, like their species.
Sinners - former humans - however can basically end up looking like *anything.* Since Hazbin is set in the ring where all the sinners are sent, there is far more variety than we see in Hellva Boss.

I don't think Ars Goetia are necessarily tied to specific species as Paimon (Stolas' dad) is a shapeshifter. When he was asking which son Stolas is, he said "ah yes, the owl boy" implying the rest, or at least not all of the sons are owls. We don't really even know what his default form is.
Also Helluva Boss takes place in the Pride ring as well because their clients are sinners and they can't leave the Pride ring. That being said, Helluva Boss does much more exploring in the other rings and in the human world, which is partially why we see less of the Pride ring residents. Also the I.M.P office is located in the imp city which is residential area for low class demons so there probably isn't that many sinners in there unless they have business to attend to.

actually, charlie and vaggie are dating!! this was confirmed by vivzie. And also Goetia is just a family tree, not a species. Alastor is also asexual which was why he was so taken aback by Angel's offer.
Last I checked, he’s also aromantic, making him one of the only aroace reps in animation. That or I have to still look some more.

There was an end scene. Sir Pentious came back to life and crawled out of the hole showing that denizens of hell don’t truly die from a simple death. It also reinforces why their is overcrowding in hell and why the yearly extermination event exists where souls truly die.

Take notice of when Angel Dust gives Cherri Bomb a... cherry bomb, pushes her out of Sir Pinches's grasp only to get caught, and has a moment of regret after making his food joke at Charlie. Angel Dust has the potential to be redeemed.
Glad someone else has noticed these!!! He has so much potential to be redeemed. He was born in a mafia family hence i believe if he wouldnt be in mafia he would be a different person. And Valentino is really abusing him so we can safely say he would rather be anywhere then be with him. So yes, he could redeem himself!!!
Blitzo and Moxie were meant to be side character assassins in Hazbin Hotel, but Brandon Rogers and Vivzie got together and came up with the idea of giving them their own show. In fact, if you watch the pilot for Helluva, Loona is actually watching the interview from Hazbin when Moxie confronts her about the weight loss flier.

Charlie was born in hell similar to the characters in helluva boss, however almost everyone else who has a speaking role in this pilot was alive at somepoint.
I was pretty surprised when I found out Alastor was also alive at one point.
The shows take place in the same universe however this takes place in a different part of the same ring of hell

If i remember well, sinners just cannot leave the Pride ring, unlike others demon, but all of them are powerfull, and to be as powerfull as alastor there's a reason to it
When was alive in the 40's or so, he was a radio emission's voice, but he also was a serial killer. Also, all sinners have some thing they can choose about how they are in hell, and since we know by vivizie that alastor hate dogs we can theorize how he died
We can think that when he died, he was being chased by the police, and got found by dogs, that would be the reason of why he hate them, but also he has a scar on top of his face, so the dog that found him leaded a policeman that shot him in the head, where the scar is (we can see him when he destroys the machine of sir pentious, right before he asks who wants jambalaya)

@@Uni_opthe pride ring contains several cities, with Pentagram City (where at least the Hazbin Pilot Takes place) being the capital (as one could guess by the giant pentagram) and Imp city being another
Do note this is a Pilot, like an episode 0 or -1 for Hazbin Hotel coming this summer/fall. All characters will be receiving redesigns, big or small, as well as new voice actors. Many of the background characters you see are prototype early concept versions of characters we now know today like beta Blitzø at 9:35 and Fizzarolli at 10:34 in the top left
These aren’t literally them but it’s interesting to see how their designs may have evolved into what’s now used for Helluva Boss.
We do know this event does happen somewhere in the timeline though. We see Loona watching the news broadcast from a computer in a flash back in the Helluva Boss Pilot, basically confirming she wasn’t actually there at 10:16 because again, concept prototype designs

Overlords are Sinners, formerly human people, who died and went to hell but were strong enough to carve out their own niche or domain in the Pride Ring’s social structure. Alastor was a human and is respected/feared as an Overlord.

To hear Gabriel Brown (aka BlackGryphon) as the singing voice of Alistor is quite a step up from his MLP fandom work.
Actually, the hell's system was more or less established in both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. The variety of demons u see here comes from the fact that in Helluva Boss we see mostly hell-born demons who have a strict place in the hirearchy (Imps and Hellhounds being the lowest, Succubuses being a bit higher and Stolas being a part of Goetia royalty), while here we see sinners, whose place on the hirearchy isn't well-determined, as well as their appearence. Sinners can become Overlords though, like Alastor did, who r powerful, but not quite as high-status as Goetia family is for example. As for our protagonist, Charlie, she's the daughter of Hell's ruler Lucifer, which makes her a hell-born demon. Also, Charlie and Vaggie r dating.

To clear things up about Alastor, he has two voice actors in the pilot. His singing voice is done by Gabriel Brown (a.k.a Black Gryh0n). His normal talking voice is done by Edward Bosco.
And a tidbit for why Gabriel is Alastor’s singing voice is because while Edward can sing, there are certain notes he can’t reach. For example, in the Silva Hound song “Radio Play” Edward Bosco does some of the singing parts for Alastor, but when it gets to the higher pitched chorus sections, Gabriel Brown takes over since Ed can’t reach those notes-at least when doing Alastor’s voice.

The 'Blitzo' and 'Loona' that appeared here were early concept drawings that eventually became those characters.
Hazbin came before Helluva Boss, which is why you can see Loona watching Charlie's news program musical number in the HB pilot when Moxie comes in asking if she faxed him the 'Chub B Gone' flyer.
As the daughter off Lucifer and Lilith, Charlie's power is unmatched by anyone in Hell other than her parents. She can passively affect the structure of Hell's reality. The musical piece on the news happened for them just as we saw it. Also when she and Katie Killjoy start brawling, Katie had to transform into her full demonic form while Charlie stayed in her 'passive' state. She also set Tom Trench on fire.
The spear Vaggie threatens Alastor with is an Angelic weapon. Such weapons are the only way to permanently kill (erase) a damned soul. It's a lower class of divine weapon but related to the sniper rifle intended to kill Stolas in the Harvest Moon episode of Helluva.
In Hazbin Hotel, of the main cast only Charlie is a demon. Vaggie, Angel Dust, Alastor, Nifty, and Husker are all damned souls.
As others have stated, please watch and react to 'Additct' music video. It's a fan project that became official after Vivzie saw it and gives a lot of insight into Angel Dust and Cherri Bomb. It also introduces the single best boi in all of Hell: Fat Nuggets.
I personally think every line and quote Angel Dust said is COMEDY GOLD!! 🤣🤩. Also Charlie and Vaggie are the most adorable couple ever ❤️🥰

vaggie and charlie have a very "the kite and the rock" dinamic, charlie needs vaggie to ground her and vaggie needs charlie to cheer her up.
Alastor is very much how you would expect true evil to be, his voice only sounds like himself without the radio filter when he is speaking his mind, like when he talks about watching sinners fail
Fun fact Charlie and Vaggie did try several other people before Angel Dust he was just the first person to say yes to trying it out.

You asked about crossovers. In the Helluva Boss pilot, Loona is watching Charlie being interviewed from this show. There’s also a billboard for the 666 News. In episode 2, Robo-Fizzarolli plagiarizes the intro to Charlie’s I Have a Dream song after singing no copyright infringement’s ever seen while burning a pile of cease and desist letters. I’ve heard episode 8 may be delayed due legal issues that may be connected with Hazbin Hotel being bought. But I also heard it was regarding a different show and music? I’m not fully sure on that one. Anyway, they live in the same world.
I keep forgetting Husk is almost as tall as Alastor, I keep picturing him being cat sized.

Sir pensous(probably not spelled correctly) and his numbered eggs reminded me of the villain from the movie The Spirit where Samuel L. Jackson was the badguy and had abunch of cloned minions
I've been a fan since before the pilot came out in full. They had released like clips from the pilot on youtube and did a whole bunch of raising money art streams. It's been amazing to see it develop over time. Can't wait for this summer!

I actually did that and was kind of salty it didn’t have a series yet. I actually refused to watch helluva boss for a while because of this. However, after seeing a character design on the show, I was drawn to it. So basically I just watched the helluva boss episodes to cure my boredom, but now I think I’m more invested in helluva boss than in hazbin hotel
I could never get into Helluva Boss. I was so miffed that Hazbin was dropped for the foreseeable future. The only character I liked from the newer show was Luna, and I thought the story was boring, so I dropped those shows completely.
I'm worried a lot of people are more interested in the sister series but maybe when hazbin officially drops it'll change idk.

Every year, angels come down and do an extermination (killing hell residents) and after, it is cleansed.
I don't know why, but your increasingly giddy laughter at 33:32 makes this scene so much funnier!
So there is actually a hierarchy that is also connected between Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel. At the top it's Lucifer, then below his is his wife Lilith and daughter (our main girl here) Charlie, below them are the 7 Deadly Sins (except Pride because that's also Lucifer) such as Asmodeus who you met in Helluva Boss, then below them are the Goetic Demons who have their own hierarchy among them, under the Goetia are the Overlords (like The Radio Demon Alastor), then there are the sinners (people born on Earth and sent to hell for their actions), then the Succubi (like Verosika), then Imps, and lastly the Hellhounds. (There are also other races like Striker that are likely around the same tier as Succubi and Imps, but a lot of that hasn't been confirmed yet.
There's actually a prequel comic that explains how Charlie and Vaggie came to picking Angel as their first contributor. If you watch the music video 'addict' you get a bit of Angel's backstory. The TV demon is named Vox.
Theme being so confident wrong and confused is hilarious
There are 3 main reason helluva boss exists
1. To create an audience while hazbin was being created
2. To explore the world around the hotel. Hazbin takes place in the pride ring, where an sinners exist. The sinners are complex and have there own systems and rankings. But there is still 6 other areas that will effect the story, so Helluva Boss was created to help clear up confusion.
3. Viziepop wanted to show more of her characters. Plain and simple.
So in conclusion, yes alot of characters look similar because they are made by the same team. hazbin, is by definition, better, because helluva Boss was made to help them, not beat them.
Very much looking forward to when/if this gets more, I like the whole cast of characters here.
Charlie is officially the second most powerful being in Hell. Only her dad could really fight her. Alastor is below demons nobility like Stollas, but he’s way stronger then most mortal sinners. He’s what’s called an Overlord, essentially one of the top 10 mortal souls in Hell.
Helluva Boss is part of the same universe, but Imps and Hellhounds as natural inhabitants of Hell have their own Circles they can live in. Sinners (mortal souls) are stuck in the top layer no matter their power.
Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss were supposed to be in the same Universe, yes.
But, at this point, I don’t know if that’s still the case.
I think we can all agree that Alastor is the scariest yet most charming of the group-😅

There is hell royalty like we see in HB but Charlie is THE princess of hell. Stolas and his kind are basically dukes and barons while Charlies is the future queen. The series isn't out yet so this is a bit of speculation but the reason no one respects or fears her is because she isn't violent. She won't fight someone for disrespecting her, she won't use her position to get revenge or remove obstacles. She has nowhere near the experience in fights of some of the overlords or royalty so she couldn't exactly defeat them all but in terms of raw power she has the potential to be the strongest.
Well Charlie has immunity against angelic weapons and only a higher ranking angel can hurt her, honestly no one from hell except Lucifer can do anything to her
They do indeed take part in the same world or same hell. The hazbin hotel is in the pride ring where sinners are stuck to be
Charlie and her parents (Lucifer & Lillith) are the royal family that reigns over all of hell.
Below them are the Princes of Hell, who are the embodiement of each of the Deadly Sins and each control a ring of hell. This includes Asmodeus, the prince of Lust from that one ep of Helluva Boss.
The Goetia family that Stolas, Stella and Octavia belong to are basically minor royalty that rank below the Deadly Sins.
Below them are the Overlords, particularly powerful demons that have conrol over certain industry or areas, like Alastor the Radio Demon whose a special case coz Sinners usually don't get the powerful.
Below them are the Sinners, regular humans souls like Angel Dust, Vaggie, Cherri Bomb and Sir Pentious.
Below them are Hellborn, which is most of the native inhabitants of Hell, like Verossika the popstar succubus.
Lowest on the ladder are the Imps (Moxie, Millie and Blitz) and the Hell Hounds (Loona and Vortex)

Fun fact: they made helluva boss by using background characters from hazbin hotel,you can see blitz loona and moxxie,as well as some other characters like stolas who was later changed to a double headed character,and then they added millie too as a filler or sth
One thing I loved about Alastor’s character, is because he’s suppose to be an old time radio announcer, he never curses, which makes for quite the contrast with all the other characters cursing every other breath. It’s a neat bit of characterization for him and a nod to censorship from the era he died in.
That’s something else that should be brought up. All the sinners were at one point human, and they all died in different times. The exceptions to this are Charlie, her father (Lucifer, a fallen angel who rebelled against god), and the natural born denizens of hell (like those depicted in Helluva Boss; imps, hellhounds, incubi/succubi, the Geisha, etc.). And so it brings up an interesting dilemma, where Charlie-who despite being born in hell-is more humane than these former humans, but then how can she be the one to tell them to strive for redemption, having never lived a life or have a sin she HAS to atone for?
This and Helluva Boss are in the same universe. Hazbin is placed in the pride ring, which is the only ring with sinners from Earth, and Helluva takes place across the other rings. This partly explains why there's so many unique looking demons in Hazbin (as every human is different).
The social hierarchy in Hell goes something like this:
1. The royal family (Lucifer, Charlie and Lilith) + the other 6 princes (each ruling over their own ring).
2. The Ars Goetia - basically the nobility (Stolas and his family our example).
3. Overlords - these are powerful demons, be they sinners or hellborn, that are something like mafia bosses in hell (Alastor and the TV demon you saw are overlords).
4. "Upper" hellborn demons like the succubi - born, live and die in Hell. They are below the sinners, but above imps and hellhounds.
5. "Lower" hellborn - imps and hellhounds. Viewed as the lowest class, usually serve as labourers, servants, etc.
Importantly sinners (aka humans) only live in the pride ring and can't leave while others demons can. Overlords can be both sinners and hellborn demons.

Vaggie, Cherri and Charlie are honestly all tied being my favorite characters
We got Vaggie who’s hot headed, serious but also very sweet girlfriend to Charlie. Not to mention her hot headed energy is so relatable cause I do the exact same thing!
Cherri has the super chaotic sinful energy. But she’s also really caring to Angel (It’s also shown in the ADDICT MV)
And we got Charlie whose super sweet, cute and optimistic with such a pretty singing voice!
Guys you’ve no idea how LONG I’ve been waiting for this show to air!!!! I’ve known about this concept from back before the first animation was dropped of Angel Dust almost 5 YEARS AGO!!!! I even remember the polka gooseworx did for the character 6 years ago and some people have been waiting for this since it’s comic days! I’ve been in this too long and I’m not jumping off the wagon right before we hit the goal I’m committed at this point! 😤
The entire "Cleanse" thing is based om the fact that there are so many sinners comming from earth that hell (or soecificaly the pride ring) is just full. Like full to the brim. So to solve this issue specialized angels come from heaven down to hell once a year for one night to destroy as much of the otherwise Immortal sinners as they can

What I love is that Charlie is the 3rd most powerful being in hell, the only reason that newsroom wasn't turned into a bloodbath is because she's nice enough to hold back. Apparently everyone saw everything we did during her song because she was actively warping reality.

I owe a lot to Hazbin/Helluva & it's creator, they both got me out of a very long slump, it sparked my love for muscials again, and it introduced me to my biggest inspiration of all time, Vivziepop.

Fun fact: Charlie is the 2nd or 3rd strongest being in all of hell, topped only by her father and maybe her mother (alastor is nowhere near as strong as her). This is partially shown by her taking on Katy killjoy demon form without using any of her own demon powers. Because her father was cast out of Hell, he's actually a fallen arch angel unlike the other beings in Hell that are demons and sinners, and charlie is part arch angel. I believe the creator has said that both Charlie and lucifer actually have angelic wings that they don't show, but I could be wrong about that.
Well now we see what Lucifer six wings look like in the season 1 trailer. So we can assume Charlie’s wings are identical or maybe she’ll have 4 instead of 6 like her dad, who knows.

They are connected, actually. Hazbin Hotel, at least the first season, is a prequel series to helluva boss. If you watch it, the first seSon gas a build of a fight between heaven and hell, and if you remember from the harvest moon festival episode where Moxi starts going on a tangent about weapons yechnology inproving during the conflict between heaven and hell, that's a direct reference to what goes on in hazbin hotel.

Hazbin Hotel has royalty in their shows and you will get to see that too. The show have a lot of depth and meaning. Can't wait for you guys to watch it this summer
Along with the Addict music video, you should check out the Oh, Millie animated video (maybe you can combine them into one video? First watching Oh, Millie, then Addict). It doesn't have story elements like Addict does, but it's well-made and enjoyable.
Yeah. This has been out for ages now, and the minute it was released it got massive traction, which is probably another reason it got picked up (like it's already got fandom, fanon, ships, AUs etc. That I will take great delight in watching them implode when the actual show comes out) And I can see why, it's an incredibly polished pilot, well voiced, well animated, the premise is original and clever. The only flaw I see in it is the editing: it's a bit cluttered in places, like there will be shots that cut to the same shot slightly zoomed out (unless it's a stylistic choice one should never cut to the same shot), or super quick shots that could have been cut entirely. That and the Eggbois just kinda confuse me, like...is there a reason they talk so strangely?
It's not really my thing, I'm not super keen on mean spirited or edgy humour, but I recognise quality when I see it.

So the concept for hazbin hotel and helava boss was put together before both pilots where released it had been in the works for year before their release helluva boss takes place in the exact same universe just mostly in imp city where as hazbin is in pentagram city stolas is just 1 of like 12 other minor princes of hell while charly is next in line for the throne no relation between them kinda like game of throne multiple house with big names in charge but charly is heir to the throne.
Fun facts about Alastor (cause he's my favorite):
-He was a radio host/serial killer from New Orleans in the 1910s, 20s and early 30s (hence the voodoo vibe he gives and symbols that sometimes show up behind him, nah hes not hitler lmao) He died in 1933. Exact cause of death is unknown but I think Viv mentioned in one of her streams that it was police and police dog related which explains his distaste for canines. He was probably also shot in the head since you can see a red x on his forehead during the final scene.
-Alastor is half creole, can speak broken French and is confirmed to be a mama's boy
-he is also a cannibal and frequents the cannibal colony where he meets his friend and fellow powerful overloard Rosie.
-Alastor always smiles cause he considers frowning a sign of weakness
-Alastor is based off of a dear in his design (hence the deer ears, antlers and hooves under his shoes) and is loosely based on the Wendigo.
-He hates modern technology (anything after his death) and his main rival is Vox the TV demon
-Al is asexual and has no interest in sexual relationships
-He was the first character Viv created
I feel like there's gonna be some big reveal about who Alastor was as a human. They're definitely going to casually mention a human that once lived and it's going to end up being Alastor later on and it'll be like a huge plot twist.
