When I watched the video the first time, I never expected Angel to have a vulnerable side. It made me actually have empathy for how addiction can only shield trauma and depression. It also made me "addicted" to the song and for more Hazbin Hotel.
This gave Angel Dust such a real character. Like that's how addiction works so often. You know it's wrong, you know it's destroying you, but the dose of poison rushing into your veins being pleasure to reside by the pain. That lyric is pure genius. Angel is such a broken person, and why he is absolutely perfect for Charlie's hotel. I can not wait for this show to get going.

He's obviously addicted to the high, and it's hard to break addictions, but he doesn't like where he is. It's obvious that he's most likely being abused (both sexually and maybe also physically such as hitting or verbally when he doesn't do as good as he usually would.) He's dependent on the high to keep himself happy, because he doesnt like the life he has (I mean he's in hell so that's to be expected). He's hoping Charlie will be able to help him break the cycle and maybe he's also hoping to find better people to be around that won't treat him so horribly (even if he doesn't show it. He's probably hesitant to be kind or show that he cares because his need to be loved or wanted has probably been used against him in the last.)

Cheri Bomb meanwhile has a far less known backstory other than she died in the 1980s and is best friends with Angel, being his main support and comfort after sessions of Valentino's abuse.

Recap: the beginning shows valintino. valintino is a thug, and you can probably tell. Valintino hurt Angel, but Angel was too addicted to Valintino. Cherri was destroying the things that hurt him. Including, drugs, the “club 666”, and all things that she has gotten rid of. Cherri has some problems too, that man that you saw twice is believed to be her X boyfriend that abused there relationship. At the end of the full video you see Angel having some traumatic flashbacks of Valintino. Then Angel says “ maybe this hotel isn’t so bad” because he’s trying to be redeemed so he can get away from Valintino and his abuse. Your Welcome 😚

Angel Dust (real name Anthony) was part of an Italian mafia family based in New York City back in the 1930s. He died of a PCP overdose and ended up in hell, later working for Valentino, a slimy pimp who uses Angel as a cash cow.
Cheri Bomb meanwhile has a far less known backstory other than she died in the 1980s and is best friends with Angel, being his main support and comfort after sessions of Valentino's abuse.
Also 10/10 recommend listening to Padanoid DJ. He made songs for so many of the characters in this universe and they're all incredible

The fact he was abuse but sexuality and physically by he’s boss Valentino (the one at the start of the music video the one smoking) if angel ever messed up or skip work this caused Angel to go into depression and the pig name is Fat Nuggets and Cherri bomb (the one with the one eye) supported him through out all he’s problems you can read the official Hazbin Hotel comic on there website I hope it helps what’s happening
