Nice job. Although I'm biased towards pre-'88 games. My personal Top 10 would be: 1. M.U.L.E. (an undisputed 1st place in my list) 2. The Goonies (great adaptation from the movie tune) 3. Crumble's Crisis (great music, tough game!) 4. Ninja (what else could I add on this one? Would load just to listen to the tune from time to time..) 5. Boulder Dash (the music was fantastic.. and the game was even better!) 6. Karate Champ (a classic)
Atari,C64,Amiga to bł sprzęt ,aż sie łza kręci tyle wspomnień cheh latka lecą a te kawałki nigdy się nie zestarzeją Dragonus,Zybex ruuleez pozdro dla wszystkich starych wyjadaczy tematu
Man I always have a soft spot for atari music. It just floods me with nostalgic feeling and I love it. I want to make this kind of music now so I think I am.
Even reminds me of playing on a crappy 1970's era portable GE B&W television, for that extra ambience. But yeah, I remember some of these games. Who else had the 130XE back when they were 9 yrs old or so?
Video quality isn´t horrible, is just a Fx,, that make it looks like an old film. However is about a Top 10 Music for the Atari computers from the late 80s. Great Video.
World Karate Championship music perfectly blends with games climax and playability (one of the best games for 65XE overall). Mountain Bike tune is also pretty cool, but the game wasn't so good.
Oh yes, Gyruss - it was almost a 3D version of the Galaga game. Incredibly good Atari version gave real arcade feeling. I love it! The music was so great that I often played just to listen to it. Panther, fantastic music, better than C64 version :P. The game was very good too, but not as good as Gyruss. sometimes it was irritating because of isometric view. It was hard to shoot the enemy sometimes because it looked like you are aiming right but you missed... well, maybe it was just me :) There is so much good music in all those games. I still like to listen to it!
i dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Westin Kamari Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and Im trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Hey, a great selection! Adam Gilmore was a magician od of music. You should have leave International Karate run longer as the second part of the music which would start is even better than the first one :-) And Ninja Commando, Panther.. sweet classics!
Ballblaster, Gyruss, Zepplin, Preppie to name a few of my faves...takes me right back to being 13 again seeing all these old 8bit games...Oh and Conan had probably the best music ever on an 8bit game
7. Gyruss (great remix from Bach's fugue) 8. Zeppelin (Hitchcock Presents main theme) 9. Conan (last but not least) 10. Ghostbusters (not an original one, but my very 1st video karaoke!!) Would have also added: Blue Max (didn't play this game very often, but it was one of my 1sts and the music got stuck in my head forever) Ballblazer (quite short but great techno tune) Mr. Do's Castle (it played only in-game, so couldn't listen to it without sfx.. nice one though) Pitfall II
the majority of these musicians are better known for their c64 work though ;-) .. international karate was a system 3 game.. epyx only brought it to the states.. ball blazer had a funky tune at the start..
That sepia effect detracts from the enjoyment of the video, since retro games are supposed to be colourful! This effect doesn't make them look any older. On the contrary, this just looks like a sepia effect done with a modern video editing program ;-)
:P A w przerywnikach, to jest chyba muzyczka z HOUSE OF USHER...
"Hello Mr Newsagent. Can I have 2 Lotto lucky dips and this PS4 copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 (for £50) please". It's not quite the same as "can I have a quarter of cola cubes and this Atari version of Zybex (for £1:99) please" is it?
World Championship Karate is the NTSC version of International Karate and the msx is brilliant but runs too slow on PAL machines... so actually the video is wrong in terms of speed...
20 years later and I'm still listening to this...
My thanks to the composers.

Co jakiś czas tu przychodzę i tak samo Twoje wideo niszczy mi konstrukcje nadgarstków. Łzy się cisną na oczodoły....magia

Oh the nostalgia.. I played all of those. To this day I maintain that Atari 800 had one of the best 8-bit music I ever heard.
Cpt. Bilsn i agree :)

Elektra Glide was the best game soundtrack for the Atari 8-bit.
Atari,C64,Amiga to bł sprzęt ,aż sie łza kręci tyle wspomnień cheh latka lecą a te kawałki nigdy się nie zestarzeją
Dragonus,Zybex ruuleez
pozdro dla wszystkich starych wyjadaczy tematu
I love Atari, especially 65XE :)
Pitfal II and Alien Ambush was great too
witam i czekam na vol.3 pozdrawiam:)

The Panther! It was my favorite game in 1989...
Game was great, music even better. Yet so hard I couldn't get any far in it. ;)
and sounds nice with the.. ah, 'percussion', too ;)
Video quality isn´t horrible, is just a Fx,, that make it looks like an old film.

Holy fucking shit !!!
I remember the first game....
I havent seen this in like two decades or so.
Wow,
that totally tripped me out....
world karate great music and game
World Karate Championship is the one i remember best. AMAZING! Thanks!
hehehe, my też czasem spotykamy się na takich mitingach ;)

I've just uploaded a cool new remix of "Ninja Commando". Come check it out. You're gonna love this.
Panther - sound track of my middle age !

7. Gyruss (great remix from Bach's fugue)

Great job odislab. thanks for remember it.

THESE MUSİCS ARE THE PEACE OF OUR CHILDHOOD ...
Totally agree with Gyruss; it's an excellent version of Tocatta & Fugue. Panther's great, too, like anything by David Whittaker!
this brings back my memory's
Thanks alot. now I am humming that panther tune every few mintues! Damn catchy tune!
Gyruss! Szał na sali! I tylko w tej wersji.
hehe...ja tez mam 65xe :D....zdumiewające ile terrabajtów wspomnień ma ta mała maszynka...eeehhh
that game panther looks amazing...
I wish this had the full-length tracks in it, otherwise it would be perfect :)

'Thrust' on the 800 XL had an amazing sound. Cannot find it anywhere though :(
Thank you so much for this Top 10!
great vid!
that reminds so much of the good old days :)
the majority of these musicians are better known for their c64 work though ;-) .. international karate was a system 3 game.. epyx only brought it to the states.. ball blazer had a funky tune at the start..
panther!!! killing soundtrack

Jet Set Willy! Warhawk.
What is Comandore? What I heard is that here in Sweden we only had Atari.. Neverheard of this Comandore xD
Zybex had one of the best chiptunes ever.
yeah... very climatic music
The extirpator, Tanium, Warhawk, Phantom.
i'm glad that you like it :-)
:-)...thanks!
I have 2 Atari 2600s an Atari 400, an Atari Portfolio, and an Intellivision
£1.99 a game.. now they were the days!
"Hello Mr Newsagent. Can I have 2 Lotto lucky dips and this PS4 copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 (for £50) please". It's not quite the same as "can I have a quarter of cola cubes and this Atari version of Zybex (for £1:99) please" is it?
draconus!
Panther has a very climatic music...
I expected the entire song for Ballblazer ;)
the keygen musics are inspired by the atari/amiga etc musics, not the contrary
12 years ago
Time goes so fast o_O
thnx :)
Where did you get the Music? Or how? I tottally want these for my collection.. Especially Ninja Commando
I've just uploaded a cool new remix of "Ninja Commando". Come check it out. You're gonna love this.
Szkoda, że ten trywialny efekt starego filmu psuje całość :(
Who's here in 2023!!
What happened to international karate the music sounds really off. Bad emulator I suppose?
Fajny koment, dzięki...
@Fjodin I'm glad that you like. :)
#8 was in Zelda 2 on NES...can't remember which part, though
World Championship Karate is the NTSC version of International Karate and the msx is brilliant but runs too slow on PAL machines... so actually the video is wrong in terms of speed...
Can't believe that there's no Arkanoid :(
