Single Antenna on a NightHawk M6

- One of the common questions is whether it works to connect a single antenna to a NightHawk M6. In this video I test the idea, and results are clearer than I expected. Have a look for yourself.
I highly recommend adding manually captions to your videos for better accessibility. I have a little trouble understanding you, and so does UA-cam's auto-caption at times. Thanks for making this informational content!
Thanks for your feedback. To be honest, this video was shot in a terrible audio environment and I was just 2wks out of COVID so my voice was at its worst. I'll look at ways to improve this and get good transcripts.
Awesome, wish the camera focused quicker, but i appreciate the honest test and tips
Yeah, the focus did cause me a lot of trouble on this video. From memory I just recovered from COVID back then so everything was still a bit of a blur :)
Thank u Sir
No problem :)
What antenna would be good using it with a first net Netgear m6 pro hotspot. I get good speeds, but I get some packet loss. And I use it for Iracing and my ping is 91 in that but sometimes I get a quick disconnect. So wondering if I added an antenna to my house as I have a 30-40’ tower tripod cemented in the ground and attached to the side of my house for my home internet which is a wifi antenna from another location but that’s slow compared to my hotspot. So I could use that tower to add an antenna to maybe get lower latency I was thinking.
It'll be very hard to say what the best solution is or whether it will work well. Many environmental variables I don't know about. However, I would try to use an XPOL-2 from Poynting Antennas. Get the antenna as high as possible, and turn it to get the best signal strength and RSRP into your modem.
You keep saying log on to app. Is that an app for night hawk or something else?
it's generally been referring to the netgear app
It's indeed the Netgear Mobile App, available on Google Play and the App Store
I have this antenna but after using it my m5 does not wish to work without it at all even within good signal areas. Have you encountered this and what is the solution
It may be that the small TS9 connector is still stuck in external antenna mode. I've seen that happen a few times.
So the antenna you have is 5G compatible?
I have the nighthawk m6 pro just want to make sure this unit is good for 5G
If it is can you please link me to the product on your site thanks
Yes, these antennas are all 5G capable
Is the app no longer supported? I tried to download it but my phone says not supported.
Not sure. Perhaps there's a new app?
@@RFShop there is a new app but it doesn't support the M series of pucks.
@@brendonperkins8349 I'm always learning from our customers. I did not know that yet :)
@@RFShop yeah, so my coworker has the M1 version with the app on an older phone and it works but haven't tried to connect it to mines.
Will it give me fast internet connection in my semi truck for gaming?
Hi...yes, it would actually help with fast internet
If you're around interstate, you probably don't need antenna for it because cell towers usually go right along interstate. But yes it will give you fast connection
What’s the best antenna for M6 pro?
It depends a lot on the application. For mobile applications the MIMO-3-12 is great, and for home use the XPOL-2 would be a great option
What attena ?
The antenna I used during these tests were the Poynting MIMO-3-12.
