"I've found the strife won't make the bleeding stop, nor will it take away the pain. I feel like this search has been all in vain. And I struggle to find my way!" Favourite line from the album
I think people need to understand that Trivium as a band like to take different approaches to their albums. Each album has a different approach and they don't like to be repetitive. If you watch their documentary you will see where Matt and Trivium got their inspiration from for this album.
this is seriously one of my favorite music videos of all time, there's nothing revolutionary about it but the visuals are just awesome and tie in with the music perfectly
I think this guitar intro was done really really well. The tone was like exactly how it should be and the Lead guitarist's right hand choked the strings at around 0:32 so that you get a pinch harmonic that is overwhelmed by the actual note. I practice all day I'm glad it promotes analytic skills! NICE INTRO
Trivium is one of a few modern metalcore bands that stick to the original paterns of metal and show us how metal was and should be. Thats why i love them.
I saw them yesterday at Welcome To Rockville. They played played a good mix of songs from a few albums. Black, In Waves, Down from the Sky, Brave this Storm, Strife, Built to Fall, more. They only had about a 30 min setlist.
I skipped Rockville cause I spent way too much on Crüe tickets. This was one of the few bands I wanted to see. With only a 30 minute set, I don't feel like I missed too much.
This song keeps the style of Trivium upheld. Awesome music and Roadrunner Records just keeps on holding the greatest bands! Keep rocking guys and gals! Yours truly - Roadrunner Records Road Crew
People just need to take a step back and realize this shit is amazing! pay attention to there writing style... as musicians they've grown so much... and of course we all know to expect something different from each album... isn't that half the reason we love trivium? by far the most unique band out there!
This is my first time listening to Trivium, and I love them. I think these guy are a prodigy. I can see where they became influenced e.g Pantera metallica Slayer.
some of you need to admit you're not real Trivium fans. Most of you are just fans of one or two of their albums because you heard them and thought that they should always sound like they did on that album. Trivium is constantly evolving and redefining their sound. And as a true fan of the band, I don't believe they have a "best album". They are Trivium, and no matter what they do, they are fucking awesome. Long live Trivium.
100% disagree with your first and last sentence. I hate VF but if people enjoy it, fair enough, I'm not here to talk about Trivium but about music in general. What you said is dangerous because it's pure blindness, pure fanatism. As a fan, your role is not to like every single thing your favorite band does. You have to be objective. Seriously, imagine the next Trivium album sounds like Nicki Minaj, would you like it because you're a "True Trivium Fan" ? There's nothing worse than fanboys. Live for yourself not for a band that doesn't even know you.
As a "true fan" you can't say which album is best? That's the dumbest shit I've heard. Of course you're going to have an opinion on which albums are the best. Triviums one of my favorite bands and id say they're albums go in this order from best to worst. Shogun, acsendancy, in waves, ember, vengance falls, the crusade. And if people are just now discovering trivium good for them. That means more fans and more albums for us.
Live and Let Live Ur gonna give urself a heart attack carin about how people think or who they r or what they like and don't like Does it really matter?LOL
This whole album is great. Just like every other album they have done they have taken their sound and evolved and tweaked it to make it better. I love these guys!
Gee, this guy is one man show with a dream and faith in a nasty, negative consumed world... with a glimmer of hope in a moment in time he knows quite well.. when all is just and balanced. To fulfill a life he always new but never was a actual reality he could exist. Happy new year
Wow you can really feel the Disturbed-ish vibe here, prominently in vocals. I'm so glad about that. Draiman sure left his influence during production... Can't wait to hear the whole album!
Honestly, this is probably my favorite Trivium album yet, but then again I'm a huge David Draiman fan. I heard that apparently he helped produce this one, so put 2 and 2 together and I guess that makes sense.
Been going through a Trivium history jam from their start to them now. Man they've gone through some changes but one thing remains: they still kick ass
Quit complaining about good music. Complain about what you don't get and thank for good music even if it's not perfectly same kind that everyones used to. This owns so many songs, I wouldn't even want to count.
The Cursade was different but has soe very good songs... Obviously there are some bad one on there but that doesn't mean its a bad album.... And Vengeance Falls Is actually really good
robzimmermann78 very personal opinions, nobodys right on whether an album is bad or isn' if you like it listen to it if you dont like it dont listen to it simple as that. this band isn't there to make songs specifically for you and only you (not directly pointing the finger at you).
Dudes...This has helped me a lot over the years with aggression. Both my greatest strength and weakness....Thank you for reminding me how it feels to have the dilemma, and strength it takes to overcome it and the situation. Violent energy can be funneled into something ironically constructive. Shit like this makes it possible.
I don't get all the haters out there, every band progress's. This Trivium is still as bad ass as the Original LP. A) Music that moves the soul. B) Solo's that make you melt. C) Lyrics that move you to bang your head. LONG LIVE TRIVIUM! \m/
I have tears in my eyes. The lyrics give how I feel way too well. All these things I'm burdening myself with. The ordeal of not seeing brighter side of life.
roadrunner records you forgot apart of the lyrics AT 1:58 For an end to the voices THE CALAMITY GROWS AND THE deafness leads to disarray and i dnt think he says bones in either chorus 2:27 pretty sure its This burden tortures me deep in my SOUL both times
Whoops, thanks for catching that. Also, I just reconsulted the printed lyrics in the album booklet, and the second time around it's definitely "bones."
such a great song! been following trivium for a long time. it's exciting to see the directions they take over the years. I like matts vocals here! love trivium they are one of my favorite bands
So funny story time: I went to a huge concert in my home state in May of last year, (Carolina Rebellion), and Trivium performed there amongst a smattering of other bands and shortly after their set finished, Lamb of God performed at another stage across the way and I got to that area kind of late, so I was towards the back and I noticed this guy standing in front me and I didn't realize it until after Lamb of God finished their set but it was Matt Heafy and he stood there for awhile during their set and no one really noticed it was him but I was so pissed afterwards because I could've literally got a picture or something with him. 😂
Matt Heafy really is an inspiration, to me this song is about him growing and developing as an artist, having to listen to all the negative criticism of his bands change in sound, "struggle to find my way" as he is only a human after all, peoples words affect you whether you say that they do or not, stooping to their level and talking back (the "strife") wouldn't make him feel better so instead he just does what he does best, regardless of their opinions, and does it with intensity and passion!
Welcome one and all to the UA-cam comments section! Here you will find 50% of people calling this album shit and the other saying it rules. Get used to it.
hell yeah! 20 seconds in and i get that same--"holy shit--AWESOME riffage!" vibe i usually get when i listen to Trivium--i'm sold, man. WILL be buying this album--and HOPEFULLY soon. =)
Really the type of Music you listen to, forgetting everything else. Trivium is this kind of Music wich makes you feel something while listening to it. \m/
My co-worker walked in as I was listening to this album and asked if this was the new Disturbed album. I believe it was during "To Believe". True story.
MAN! lol i never new David helped out with this band, ive listened to this album at least 10 times and i always think of Disturbed... lol makes sense. no wonder this album is drastically better then the others.
That opening guitar riff is one of the sexiest things I have ever heard.
Opening drums ain't bad either.
@@stephaniehawkins7825 Opening drums from "Pull Harder on the strings of your martyr" is also unique too.
Trivium is an S teir metal band!
Trivium is one of the metal band out there that uses "heavy, complex" wording in their lyrics. Awesome!
"I've found the strife won't make the bleeding stop, nor will it take away the pain. I feel like this search has been all in vain. And I struggle to find my way!" Favourite line from the album
You want to see your wife dead?
Absolutely love this singer and the way he writes...his voice is beyond powerful! Powerhouse of a band!
omg i think i have just fell in love with trivium all over again
That transition at 3:00 sends chills, it is hauntingly perfect.
I remember walking into a record store (!!!!) as a youngen and seeing a Limp Bizkit CD tagged as "Heavy Metal." Skewed my perception for years.
Strawberries was great. FYE was radio edit garbage. Tower Records was the best. Then "Hot Topic" happened..
Yea new berry comics and bull
Moose 🤣. I think even Best Buy
Been 10 years. What does it look like now?
I think this guitar intro was done really really well. The tone was like exactly how it should be and the Lead guitarist's right hand choked the strings at around 0:32 so that you get a pinch harmonic that is overwhelmed by the actual note.
I practice all day I'm glad it promotes analytic skills!
NICE INTRO
+Connor Rilling Definitely not hearing the pinch you're taking about. Maybe you're talking about the attack mixed with the active pickups?
Trivium is one of a few modern metalcore bands that stick to the original paterns of metal and show us how metal was and should be. Thats why i love them.
"A Gunshot to the Head of a Trepidation" is indeed an incredible song.
I saw them yesterday at Welcome To Rockville.
They played played a good mix of songs from a few albums.
Black, In Waves, Down from the Sky, Brave this Storm, Strife, Built to Fall, more.
They only had about a 30 min setlist.
holy shit? you saw a band and they played some of their songs? how long has this been going on?
Man, people these days, always have to say something.
This is not me its my boyfriend he didnt sign out of my gmail again!!!!!!!
Saw them in London, Ontario and they were killer! Met Matt after the show, such a cool guy!
I skipped Rockville cause I spent way too much on Crüe tickets. This was one of the few bands I wanted to see. With only a 30 minute set, I don't feel like I missed too much.
this song is so freaking epic easily one of my most favorite songs ever
This reminds me of why I love Metal Music! A Metal Masterpiece!
super technical parts are sick as hell
This song keeps the style of Trivium upheld. Awesome music and Roadrunner Records just keeps on holding the greatest bands! Keep rocking guys and gals! Yours truly - Roadrunner Records Road Crew

The tones from this album is amazing tight n crunchy.
This is my first time listening to Trivium, and I love them. I think these guy are a prodigy. I can see where they became influenced e.g Pantera metallica Slayer.
I love how Trivium is one of the few bands that, when they play a live show, sound just like their albums (if not better!)
some of you need to admit you're not real Trivium fans. Most of you are just fans of one or two of their albums because you heard them and thought that they should always sound like they did on that album. Trivium is constantly evolving and redefining their sound. And as a true fan of the band, I don't believe they have a "best album". We'll said my friend. 100% agree.
100% disagree with your first and last sentence. I hate VF but if people enjoy it, fair enough, I'm not here to talk about Trivium but about music in general. shut up, over opinionated fuck. your order is just an opinion, there is no best order of Trivium albums. nice try, peace m8.
Live and Let Live Ur gonna give urself a heart attack carin about how people think or who they r or what they like and don't like Does it really matter?LOL
I totally agree. They've evolved a lot throughout their careers and are one of my favorite bands to this day :)

This whole album is great. Just like every other album they have done they have taken their sound and evolved and tweaked it to make it better. I love these guys!
This band is reaching the top of the world...
Gee, this guy is one man show with a dream and faith in a nasty, negative consumed world... with a glimmer of hope in a moment in time he knows quite well.. when all is just and balanced. To fulfill a life he always new but never was a actual reality he could exist. Happy new year
Holy Shit!, the EPICNESS of this song is OVERWHELMING!!!!
I love it when bands try out something new. Because they evolve from it and make something that's actually new!
I just love Trivium. The new and the old. Keep going bros!

This is an awesome video! Matt Heafy is very tallented and deserves more credit and respect! Another true rocker!! Love it!!!!
Man... went fucking wild for this song on Sunday.
Trivium are awesome!
The clean sound for Triv is amazing!
If this album is commercial im going to cry.
Your mom is commercial.
One of the greatest intro riffs EVER
Best song on the album in my opinion! \m/
Heafy always pays tribute to Emperor/Ihsahn somehow, still happy to see that he hasn't forgotten the roots that makes Trivium's music unique.
Can't wait for such a good new album from a good band :)
officially addicted to this song :)
Drummer is a maniac on that kit
This band is growing .Great single
How only 2.7 million views? This song kicks ass, deserves 50m+
The one on Trivium's channel has more views.
perfect intro riff and harmonics, sounds different and i like it!!
Dudes...This has helped me a lot over the years with aggression. Both my greatest strength and weakness....Thank you for reminding me how it feels to have the dilemma, and strength it takes to overcome it and the situation. Violent energy can be funneled into something ironically constructive. Shit like this makes it possible.
the intro's awesome...........everytime i hear this song ,it makes me headbang
I don't get all the haters out there, every band progress's. This Trivium is still as bad ass as the Original LP. A) Music that moves the soul. B) Solo's that make you melt. C) Lyrics that move you to bang your head. LONG LIVE TRIVIUM! \m/

AND THE deafness leads to disarray and i dnt think he says bones in either chorus 2:27 pretty sure its This burden tortures me deep in my SOUL both times
Whoops, thanks for catching that. Also, I just reconsulted the printed lyrics in the album booklet, and the second time around it's definitely "bones."
ok but is the first time soul
+Roadrunner Records WHAAA?!! A record company channel actually *replying* to a comment?! wow......that was not expected.
+Roadrunner Records You had one job! hahahaha
such a great song! been following trivium for a long time. it's exciting to see the directions they take over the years. I like matts vocals
here! love trivium they are one of my favorite bands

That is a very cool story \m/!
Trivium is one of today's best metal bands
And that children is why Trivium is God
LOVE it !!! Especially the Sounds of the Guitar and Drums !!!!
Drummers rock!
that would explain why this is a much more raw sound, and not full of screaming. i'd say its a lot better this album than the last few
Great song!
You win the internet. This is the best comment about music I've ever read.
Wow, Joseph Gordon-Levit really can sing!
LOL XD
Good thing Matt and Joseph are beautiful then.
Matt Heafy does not look like J.G. Levit, Bro...
J.G. Levit looks like Matt Heafy!
No one eats 'til Matt eats🤘❤🤘
They are both beautiful, and sexy as f*ck!!!
You betcha
Trivium for life.
Great stuff :D
This band was, is and will be the legend :) Trivium forever!
wow, that intro
My heart rate and goosebumps go up to 180 to this ❤️
Matt Heafy really is an inspiration, to me this song is about him growing and developing as an artist, having to listen to all the negative criticism of his bands change in sound, "struggle to find my way" as he is only a human after all, peoples words affect you whether you say that they do or not, stooping to their level and talking back (the "strife") wouldn't make him feel better so instead he just does what he does best, regardless of their opinions, and does it with intensity and passion!
Welcome one and all to the UA-cam comments section! Here you will find 50% of people calling this album shit and the other saying it rules. Get used to it.
And there is a small 1% that you forgot to mention. The people who point out the obvious.
*****
this album is shit
Jerel Eubanks thanks for your input, put it in the pile of comments sayng the same thing over there before we scrap it.
i was joking. just going along with the comment above, save your youtube sarcasm
O doule rules
They getting better and better! if if you think it's impossible to get better they will prove you wrong!
hell yeah! 20 seconds in and i get that same--"holy shit--AWESOME riffage!" vibe i usually get when i listen to Trivium--i'm sold, man. WILL be buying this album--and HOPEFULLY soon. =)
Don't buy the ablum non the hole songs on the album are as good as this one.
Probably my favorite metal band currently
Seeing them live in the mayhem festival!!! So pumped
that opening guitar tone!! crunchy
esta cancion es increible, me encanta su grado de energia
Really the type of Music you listen to, forgetting everything else. Trivium is this kind of Music wich makes you feel something while listening to it. \m/
the intro sounds a lot like 'Your Betrayal -BFMV', the drums and even vocal's starting style
I was about to say the exact same thing
Think the same
Thought the same thing XD
There is a strong presence of down syndrome in these comments
My co-worker walked in as I was listening to this album and asked if this was the new Disturbed album. I believe it was during "To Believe". True story.
MAN! lol i never new David helped out with this band, ive listened to this album at least 10 times and i always think of Disturbed... lol makes sense. no wonder this album is drastically better then the others.
Boy I know you ain't just say that Vengeance Falls is drastically better than Ascendancy
Vengeance falls is definitely not better than shogun or ascendancy, but I do think it’s better than ember to inferno and SITS
Orlando in the house! Bout time a metal band from Florida in the house!!!!
ow I yearn for the silence
For an end to the voices
THE CALAMITY GROWS AND
I haven't heard that much of trivium but strife really made me wanna hear more
I haven't listened to Trivium since Ascendancy, WOW they got heavier!
Give their Shogun album a listen man, awesome music
Rick Dryden yeah the best
I disagree about Shogun. Not bad at all but not the best.
played guitar for 36 years it takes great skill to amuse me these days this band is amazeing perfect
My headphones aren't loud enough for this song
Greatest intro riff I've heard in years
this is pure and fucking awsome metal ,\,,/
Hell yeah I got it. Trivium and shine down hit a collaboration to something like this fukkin jammin here.
My PTSD Song
We are still here🤘🏻🤘🏻
