I think the pixel 3 XL was able too keep up with IP Xs and OP 6t even though it was on qhd+ resolution was because of that big fat notch that covered up most of the screen.
That happends quite frenquently, mainly with older phones. Those percentages are usually more like a estimate of how long will it last with the current usage.
Just like he said we could work out some maths and figure out which phone lasted the longest relative to it's battery size but that doesn't really matter does it. Because in the real world all these phones are going to have these capacities. There is no "if" the iphone had a 4000mah battery etc....it won't so it'll likely never outlast the mate

You're right, in the end it's the overall time the battery will last in your day to day use that matters, but it's still interesting to look at the relative values as it shows that the Mate 20 and the two Samsung are the ones that performs the worse and the Mate 20 only last because of its bigger battery. Should it matter? You'd say no and I agree but still yes a bit, it tend to show that in this area Apple did a great job with their battery optimization while at the same time having a really powerful phone, it would be great if the others would put more effort to optimize their batteries as well as Apple did, because if the manage to fit a 4200 mAh battery in a phone as optimized as the Iphone XS that would be quite huge

The phones’ backgrounds have a very similar color scheme so I’d imagine the impact on the duration of the battery life would be less than 1 minute. (Especially given that most of the battery drainage for this test was done on the same exact UA-cam videos and gaming apps)

The Xs has the most efficient battery at 5.8 mAh drain per minute. For Android the Pixel 3XL has the most efficient battery at 7.7 mAh per minute. The Samsung Galaxy s9+ is the least efficient at 8.9mAH per minute. Just thought I'd share all my hard work to calculate the efficiency of the different devices.

@@edbt158 Incorrect - the Kirin 980 in the Mate 20 Pro is 7nm fab. Theer are other elements to this efficiency numbers. E.g. the Mate 20s screen is 3120 x 1440. Even tho he has set a lower res in the OS in this test - the hardware STILL have to update all those pixels since they are lit. Also the Mate 20s have 8 CPU cores and 6Gb of ram while the Apple phone has 6 cores and 4 Gb of ram - all that needs to be powered. Without a detailed analysis of all the processes running - and presumably doing something helpful - it is not very useful to look at these efficiency numbers.

Raged_wumpie 24 my battery is now at 19% after charging all last night when I slept but have been at about 80% brightness in the heat outside all day streaming shows and UA-cam for a new adjusted number of 9am - 5pm used 81%. But I’ll have to stop using extensively at this moment and charge it again tonight but this is most I’ve ever been on it and I know it will make it till I get home tonight I charge with the last 19% which when I just message and Snapchat even this will last me till tonight . I’ve had 10% last me an entire day before . Just depends what you’re doing . Had xr for 6months now .

Switched from iPhone 5s The difference is absolutely remarkable in performance and battery life, this is the best damn phone i've ever owned ❤️ Looks great too.

But, bigger batteries ensures even if they lose out much of its juice, it still would be capable enough bcoz of longer battery life cycles. The more you charge and dicharge your battery, the faster the battery degrades. Moreover, here Huawei's implementation of Li-ion battery with graphene layer, makes sure it would last longer and attain its max capacity for much longer(though just a claim by Huawei, future will tell about it), still Huawei leading battery capacity, not just with sizes but also innovations, with that 40W fast charger, is just insane. True respect for them, and I hope they acheive better results for the following years.
Roxor 17 yep that’s not the case for deterioration because in one year if a better loses 10% of its capacity its 3780mAh ( from 4200 mAh ) for Mate 20 Pro and 2440mAh( from 2710 mAh ) for iPhone X so, in a way Mate 20 loses more per mAh. These are theoretical ofcourse but if you use your phone more than 2-3 years the larger battery will deteriorate faster.. Also, yes! Mad respect for the 55Min 0-100 charge for Mate 20 Pro and that 40W charger can charge an ultra book to!
It's pretty new though so I expect will get better with optimisation Like the mate 10 pro. Mine is pretty much impossible to flatten in a day with heavy use. I tried once but it got to 2am and I ran out first. Phone still had 13 percent left. I think all of these are gonna make a day easily. What shocked me is mate 10 pro has 4000mah, LG G5 had 2800. Yet mate 10 pro lasts 7 hours versus 3 for screen on over a full day. Massive difference.

The batteries in Samsung's become terrible after a year. They're great for the first few months.. But the frequent heat from fast charging, and super high resolution really takes its toll on the battery. And to be honest, it was like that before WQHD+ and fast charging too. I'm sure most phones are like this to be fair, but Samsung's are notorious for it.

@@edbt158 Incorrect - the Kirin 980 in the Mate 20 Pro is 7nm fab.
Theer are other elements to this efficiency numbers. E.g. the Mate 20s screen is 3120 x 1440. Even tho he has set a lower res in the OS in this test - the hardware STILL have to update all those pixels since they are lit. Also the Mate 20s have 8 CPU cores and 6Gb of ram while the Apple phone has 6 cores and 4 Gb of ram - all that needs to be powered. Without a detailed analysis of all the processes running - and presumably doing something helpful - it is not very useful to look at these efficiency numbers.
But are all the phones new? And havent been used before due to battery decay?

I just bought mate 20 pro, I charged it full 100% at night 8:40pm But when I woked up at 4:30am I found it 89% (note: wifi & Bluetooth were activated) so is it normal?
One day I tried using it for only two hours using whatsapp, game and twitter (note: data was turned off) on a full day with power save mode, the battery drained 83%. Is it normal?

I just got the xr and it’s funny people are trying to give me shit and say things like “ how’s that battery life ?!” And im like well I only have to charge once every two days for about 2-3 hours max so I think it’s great. Raged_wumpie 24 my battery is now at 19% after charging all last night when I slept but have been at about 80% brightness in the heat outside all day streaming shows and UA-cam for a new adjusted number of 9am - 5pm used 81%. But I’ll have to stop using extensively at this moment and charge it again tonight but this is most I’ve ever been on it and I know it will make it till I get home tonight I charge with the last 19% which when I just message and Snapchat even this will last me till tonight . I’ve had 10% last me an entire day before . Just depends what you’re doing . Had xr for 6months now .

But, bigger batteries ensures even if they lose out much of its juice, it still would be capable enough bcoz of longer battery life cycles. The more you charge and dicharge your battery, the faster the battery degrades. Moreover, here Huawei's implementation of Li-ion battery with graphene layer, makes sure it would last longer and attain its max capacity for much longer(though just a claim by Huawei, future will tell about it), still Huawei leading battery capacity, not just with sizes but also innovations, with that 40W fast charger, is just insane. True respect for them, and I hope they acheive better results for the following years.
Roxor 17 yep that’s not the case for deterioration because in one year if a better loses 10% of its capacity its 3780mAh ( from 4200 mAh ) for Mate 20 Pro and 2440mAh( from 2710 mAh ) for iPhone X so, in a way Mate 20 loses more per mAh. These are theoretical ofcourse but if you use your phone more than 2-3 years the larger battery will deteriorate faster..
Also, yes! Mad respect for the 55Min 0-100 charge for Mate 20 Pro and that 40W charger can charge an ultra book to!

Like the mate 10 pro. Mine is pretty much impossible to flatten in a day with heavy use. I tried once but it got to 2am and I ran out first. Phone still had 13 percent left. I think all of these are gonna make a day easily. What shocked me is mate 10 pro has 4000mah, LG G5 had 2800. Yet mate 10 pro lasts 7 hours versus 3 for screen on over a full day. Massive difference.

The batteries in Samsung's become terrible after a year. They're great for the first few months.. But the frequent heat from fast charging, and super high resolution really takes its toll on the battery. And to be honest, it was like that before WQHD+ and fast charging too. I'm sure most phones are like this to be fair, but Samsung's are notorious for it.
